Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: The vehicle was unlawfully repossessed, unfortunately we didn't realize this until it was too late. They repossessed the vehicle prematurely and then sold for more than what we owed. They sent a letter stating we owed an additional XXXX dollars, when they sold the vehicle for XXXX. When you add the itemized items on the Auction sale statement they calculate out to a balance left of {$28000.00}. With our remaining balance of {$28000.00}, which is also listed on the same statement, it shows they owe us XXXX. Yet they claim it as a debt we owe them, which is incorrect. They refuse to correct this, or remove it from my report.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem extending the lease
Consumer Complaint: My lease contract ended on XXXX XXXX. After speaking to the lease return department, I was advised that I could extend my lease for up to 6 months in 2 month increments. I was told that if I do not return the car the car would go on automatic extension and I didn't need to do anything. Sometime in XXXX, I was contacted by GM Financial asking whether I returned the vehicle. I was advised that extensions needed to be approved and that I needed a reason for extending. I explained that due to the pandemic, I am out of work and would not qualify for a new lease leaving me with NO form of transportation. I asked for more time to get employed so that I could secure a new car. I was approved until XXXX and requested another two months. They advised that now I needed to sign documentation. The documentation was emailed to me. I explained multiple times that I do not have access to a printer and would like to have the documentation mailed out instead. On XX/XX/XXXX they finally decided to mail the document to me. Upon receipt I would sign and email them a copy. At that point I could request another extension, and per the representative, my reasoning was valid and she didn't see any reason why I would be denied. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I receive a call saying that I need to return the vehicle and that my request for a new extension would be denied. Every conversation with GM Financial has been such a headache. Different representatives tell me different and inconsistent information. They do not read the notes on file, and continue to berate me for simply requesting an extension, which is allowed and stipulated in my contract. Many families have been affected during this pandemic and I really can not understand GM Financial 's inconsiderate, unrealistic, and unlawful treatment of it's customers. My husband uses the vehicle to get to work. He is the only individual working in our household. The representative was rude and showed no compassion, and even said that because I am not working that is even more reason to return the vehicle, to alleviate financial stress. That is not their concern. It's the only way for my husband to continue working and pay the bills. The vehicle is paid every month and her response was distasteful and disrespectful. I don't understand what changed since my last conversation with GM Financial. I haven't even received the documentation in the mail yet. Supposedly I am not able to request an extension without sending over the signed documentation. And yet they're able to deny my request? I don't understand. They won't put in my request for extension until they receive the documentation but they already know they will deny it. That is illegal.
