Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: I see multiple 30-60 days late marks which is a clear violation of my right under the FCRA. The company has never responded to any of my attempts to obtain any proof or documentation that will prove this account is being reported accurately.

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial - on my credit file has reported multiple late payments on an account in which I was never late. This gives me reason to believe that this is not my established account. I have sent disputes to GM financial and requested that they forward to me a contract bearing my signature to authorize an account by this creditor. I sent this lender a dispute which entails that if they can not present to me a signed contract bearing my signature within 30 days, this account must removed from my credit reports. GM Financial has sent me a letter acknowledging the possible fraud on my credit file. I have included my relevant dispute documents with in this complaint.

Consumer Complaint: I have 2 late payments on my account because I attempted to pay it online repeatedly and I kept getting kicked off the site because of technical issues. I then tried calling but was on hold forever and I had to go. By the time I made the payment the payment was late even though I emailed the company to assist me. I have tried repeatedly to have the company remove the late pay history since its effecting my score and wasnt really my fault its just a difficult website. I have also contacted the credit bureaus but have not gotten the results i had hoped for there either. Please assist me in helping get these removed. Thanks

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem while selling or giving up the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: I had a lease with GM Financial from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX. I made every payment on time with auto pay and never had any issues. I returned the vehicle to the dealership in XXXX of XXXX and double checked GM Financial 's website to ensure that my last payment had been made. I regularly check my XXXX credit score through a couple of apps and everything was normal just recently, my score dipped from XXXX to XXXX unexpectedly. It showed that I had a missed payment, but for the life of me I couldn't fathom what had been missed. I got in touch with a friend who told me about XXXX XXXX XXXX and later this website ) as a way of tracking my credit more directly and getting some answers. It turns out that GM Financial had assessed me with end of lease fees in the amount of XXXX and never notified me. The dealership never said a word, and I had absolutely no idea that these fees were owed. Upon discovering this ( maybe 20 or 30 minutes ago ), XXXX, I immediately logged into the GM Financial website and paid the amount. I asked if they'd be able to help me out and remove this from my credit rating since I've never had any issues in the past and I was literally unaware of the fees, and they said that my only option was to contact the credit bureau 's directly and hope for the best. I'm happy to supply further information as needed, this whole experience has been frustrating, scary, and completely unexpected.

Consumer Complaint: I had a lease vehicle for 39 months with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and it was financed by GM Financial Leasing. My loan matured on XX/XX/XXXX in which I turned the vehicle in 5000 less miles than the XXXX that was allowed, back to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, without purchasing another vehicle. My last payment to GM Financial was on XX/XX/XXXX for {$1200.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an alert from XXXX that my score dropped 45 points. Upon opening the app, I discovered that GM Financial Leasing has reported my closed account as over 30 days late and I immediately filed a dispute with XXXX about it was a closed account and after their investigation on XX/XX/XXXX they said their investigation was completed and it was correct according to GM Financial. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted GM Financial and I found out that my car was grounded with GM Financial on XX/XX/XXXX, ( a term that is used for leased vehicles, releasing me from the debt/car ) but on XX/XX/XXXX, in their notes ( GM ), someone called from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to unground the vehicle, supposedly the person who owned the car wanted to purchase it right out, by XXXX. Upon talking to the representative, I suggested a 3-way call so she could explain the problem, because I was no longer in possession of this vehicle, since XX/XX/XXXX. And I never intended to buy the vehicle because I purchased one back in XX/XX/XXXX in Florida, while on vacation. When talking to the dealership, they said they don't have a XXXX and the person who grounds the vehicles name is XXXX, but he knows nothing about this. She said please reground and he said he would fax the original paperwork and the rep said this was highly unusual to happen, but they reopened my closed account and put me as the last owner because it was ungrounded. And this is why I have the negative report on my credit. Once the car is grounded again, they can fix the negative credit report. She said give us 2 days and call us back. I gave them 1 week and called back on XX/XX/XXXX and in the system they are still waiting on a manual grounding and after I talked to a supervisor, they said I had to go get a " NO FAULT LETTER '' from the dealership to fix my credit score. I stated to the supervisor XXXX, that now this is a cat and mouse game, and you have it all in your notes, that I did my part as a customer and I was in the middle of trying to get a lower interest rate on my new vehicle that I purchased out of state and they don't know how long this will take to get corrected. I have threatened to go to social media and other things, but I was suggested to go through this route, because I can hopefully get this resolved quicker than a 30 day time period.

Consumer Complaint: I started a dispute with XXXX regarding a dispute with GM financial XX/XX/2021. I paid my lease on time and handed the car back. The not only did they not correct it but destroyed my car buying credit. I have sent multiple request to correct this since XX/XX/2021. Please help They noted I was late from the time the car was returned, up until the disposition fee

Consumer Complaint: I missed a few payments on my truck 4 exactly, 3 consecutively missed payments, and 1 other missed payment shortly after. I was supporting my entire family through COVID 19, and had to take on more financial responsibilities. I tried to contact GM Financial multiple times about seeing if they can please wave/remove the missed payments off of my Credit Report. They were never able to give any helpful guidance on how to go about removing these missed payments and I was told twice they could not do anything. To contact the credit bureaus directly. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and it is very important to me to have a clean credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I leased a XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX I started having issues with the vehicle and XXXX XXXX was not helpful. As a result, I decided to bring the vehicle to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. They serviced the car at no fee and because of the great customer service I chose to continue to work with XXXX XXXX for the remainder of the lease. In XX/XX/XXXX, I decided I wanted to purchase the vehicle I was leasing from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. Due to the pandemic, I called the dealership to make arrangements to actually go through with the purchase instead of going in for a meeting with a salesman. I worked with XXXX XXXX, who was a salesman at the dealership over the phone. He gave me a purchase price of {$17000.00}, this price included the last two months of lease payments, balance due, and sales tax. At no point was there any discussion of other fees, such as a disposition fee that would occur after I purchased the vehicle. On XX/XX/XXXX I drove to XXXX XXXX to drop off my check and pick up the sales agreement. XXXX XXXX did not take possession of my vehicle on this day or afterwards. Instead, I received a call from XXXX XXXX stating they overcharged me by {$20.00} and credited my account towards any service needed in the future. Again, I was never made aware of any disposition fee that I would be held responsible for. On XX/XX/XXXX, exactly a month after I purchased my vehicle out of my lease, I started to receive threatening phone calls from General Motors Finance. They stated that I owed them a {$500.00} disposition fee. According to GM Financial website, a disposition fee is charged by leasing companies to prepare a returned vehicle for sale at auction. My vehicle was not returned to the dealership or GM Financial for sale at auction. I purchased this vehicle outright with cash. This fee does not apply to my situation. Furthermore, as I was told several times by GM Financial themselves, this fee is discretionary and they are not required to demand it. In fact, according to their website if you lease or buy a new GM vehicle, or if you purchase your leased vehicle, the disposition fee may be waived. On two separate occasions I was promised by a GM Financial representative that the fee would be waived. The first time was a three way call between me, XXXX XXXX ( another salesman from XXXX XXXX ), and a GM Financial representative. He specifically stated that the {$500.00} would be reversed and I would no longer be required to make a payment. Additionally, on XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from another GM financial representative, XXXX, employee # XXXX, who said they would review the sales contract and would send me a letter in three days confirming that the {$500.00} fee would be set to {$0.00}. This never happened. Instead, I kept receiving harassing phone calls demanding I make a payment and at one point was being contacted three times a week. This situation has caused me a great deal of unnecessary stress in an already stressful time in my life due to extenuating circumstances. I can not take harassing phone calls for a fee that I clearly do not owe. I would like this fee to be actually set to {$0.00} with written confirmation.
