Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Unable to open an account
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to file this complaint against Wells Fargo Bank regarding the numerous issues I have encountered while attempting to open and maintain a checking account with them. Despite multiple attempts, the bank has failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the denial of my account opening. My latest attempt to open a Wells Fargo checking account occurred on XXXX XXXX XXXX at the Wells Fargo branch located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NY XXXX. During this visit, I diligently provided all the required information, including XXXX forms of identification, as requested by the bank. To my surprise, the bank informed me that my account could not be opened. When I inquired about the reason for this unexpected denial, the banker was unable to provide me with any specific information. Instead, I was assured that I would receive a letter in the mail addressing the issue. It has now been over 10 days since my visit to the Wells Fargo branch, and I have yet to receive any such letter. The lack of communication and transparency on Wells Fargo 's part is not only frustrating but also raises concerns about the handling of my personal information and the bank 's adherence to standard procedures.

Wells Fargo decides to close my account for " identity theft '' and because of that I am now banned from using XXXX!!!!!! This is absurd. I work for FDIC, there is no identity theft. Now XXXX won't even allow me to use them for anything anymore because of what Wells Fargo did!

Consumer Complaint: Around XX/XX/2024, I purchased tickets to travel to XXXX, Texas. After my arrival, I had some issues where the room I booked through XXXX was a double charged, and secondly, the room had a foul odor. I complained to the management, about the smell and the front desk clerk stated that she should change our rooms. The following when I went down to have the room changed, another clerk was at the desk and she informed me that it was not possible. When we left the hotel for breakfast, the clerk stated that she went to investigate the smell and would not honor the change of room as the previous front desk clerk stated. In addition to the invasion of privacy, the room smelled like smoke, and overall it was a bad experience.

Consumer Complaint: I have provided a FTC affidavit and put this company on notice and this company admitted in the resolution they sent that they some inconsistencies on their reporting on the consumer report then in the next line state they found no error this is a violation and admission of damage and fault to my estate. I demand this account be removed immediately. I am a victim of identity theft and this company has open admitted to giving false and inaccurate information to all three credit bureau. This is security fraud Wellsfargo is doing. I have already been contacted with local lawyer about each consumer violations and im thinking about hiring them if this is not fixed immediately. I have put wellsfargo on notice. This company stated multiple lies and inconsistencies but the fcra says a report must be 100 % accurate but this company has failed in doing so. Plus a certificate of indebtedness as this company has admitted should never be reported to the credit bureau because it would be income but the real facts in the matter is this company is admitting to violating my consumer rights and participating in identity and security fraud. I as for the account to be remove/blocked/deleted not for this company to update their already wrong and inconsistent reporting which is a violation of my consumer protected rights. I have included this companies response to the first complaint In this complaint this will make two times I have put this company on notice for the record
