Consumer Complaint: I received a call from Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX at XXXX claiming that someone was trying to cash a check written on my account. They gave me a reference number XXXX. I called the number and they asked me for my account information to verify my account. Once I gave them the information they hung up. I called back and was transferred to another department and was hung up on again. I finally looked up the phone number on the Wells Fargo website and they said that the XXXX number was not a Wells Fargo number and that the reference number was not valid. I closed the account immediately.

Consumer Complaint: Recently my mother was scammed. The scammer sent her a fake email saying they were charging her account. She called the people from the email to settle the dispute and they got access to her computer. While they were claiming to refund her money, they claimed the accidentally deposited XXXX into her account. My mother, did not realize that they transferred the money from my account to hers, as our accounts are linked. The scammers told her she had to return the money and told her the only way to do so was by withdrawing the money and send it back to them. Meanwhile, I had no idea any of this was happening. I took no part in this and I am the ultimate victim. All of my life savings that I worked so hard for have vanished and the bank is no help. While all of this happened the bank did not notify me, flag the account or even ask for any authorization. The security of this bank failed me, and I am heartbroken. This all falls under bank negligence. If I was notified of this transfer I would have been able to stop it. Please help me.

Consumer Complaint: I Wrote a Check to deposit from my business chase to Wells Fargo personal checking amount of {$99000.00} on XX/XX/2023 was expected to drop by XX/XX/2023 and it was not I called Wells Fargo bank I was told it we be dropped before end of the day nothing drop next morning I receive a closure email from Wells Fargo saying my savings we be closed by XX/XX/2023 because of one or 2 checks I deposited that was suspected to be altered. They need close my account by XX/XX/2023 and send me checks or any bal on my account I got another mail on XX/XX/2023 that they are waiting on my sending banks for more information about the check or something! But Wells Fargo keep posting my Closure date till now is postpone to XXXX I cant cope with this no more I need my money government pls address this issue

Consumer Complaint: My wallet and phone was pick pocketed on the early morning of XX/XX/2023. The wallet contained my debit card along with social security card and driver 's license. My debit cards were all used at the Wells XXXX ATM in XXXX XXXXXXXX, CA. The person that stole the items changed the password on the account using the phone to access the bank app then proceeded to call the bank to change the pin on the debit card. They used the information in the wallet and account as well as the phone number to do the two step authentication and successfully changed the pin. They proceeded to use the Wells Fargo issued debit card at Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX multiple times. Overdrawing the account by {$350.00}. The charges and transactions occured according to the bank app notifications around XXXX XXXX and continued until they began denying at approximately XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX when I could access a phone I called to process a theft claim. They responded that a credit would be issued until the investigation was complete and id receive a call or email asking for police information and further details. I never received a credit instead they threatened to close the account unless I covered the overdraft then 10 days pass and I had to call only to be told they denied the claim. The representative said they couldn't do anything because the ATM cameras aren't proof that I didn't make the transaction. I was then advised that no one listened to the call that was made to verify if in fact it was me that called and made the changes to the account. I contact the executive offices and explained to them the situation and got the same response. No phone call. No follow up. Just an email stating that nothing they could do and that they don't believe it was fraud. I emailed them the police report. I told them the time frames of everything. Informed them of the items the thieves had to access my information and still got the same response.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX after being denied for an apartment, I pulled my Consumer credit report and found that possible violations of my consumer rights according to TITLE 15. A Wells Fargo Bank is negatively and inaccurately reporting an old credit account I had with them as a CHARGE OFF Status on my consumer credit report. This account was a XXXX XXXX XXXX funded by me, the account holder. Wells Fargo Bank is reporting against this account as if they suffered some type of damages. They did not loan any monies to fund this account. All monies were provided by the account holder when the account was opened. Wells Fargo Bank did not send me at 1099C if they did Charge off this debt. Wells Fargo Bank is reporting my performance on this account which was a XXXX XXXX. I was not given any notice before this information was added to my consumer report. The reporting of this inaccurate information is harming me and hindering me from obtaining services on credit. Per 18 USC 1028 ( a ) Since I did not give permission for them to provide this information to my consumer credit report, this would be considered Identity Theft.
