Consumer Complaint: I was called via a spoofing scam in early XXXX. The number on my phone showed up as Wellsfargo. It was someone saying they were with the bank ; they confirmed all of my account info, balances and last transactions. They told me someone had stolen my credit card and had committed fraudulent charges. The last thing was that someone had initiated a wire for XXXX and in order to reverse it I had to wire the money back to myself ( this did not make sense to me but I trusted that they were from the bank ). They had put in a fake " XXXX XXXX '' wire recipient that was actually their own account. I completed the wire for XXXX and two hours later contacted Wellsfargo to check in on my " fraud ''. They said there was no fraud on my account but that the person I wired money to was actually the criminal. I asked that they freeze the wire immediately. I called dozens of times that day to confirm they had cancelled it and a week later found out they did not even try to contact the recipient Bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) until XXXX that day ( over four hours after I called them ). They have denied my reimbursement requests and have said this was my fault because someone found out my password ( no one knows my password, somehow this account was breached and I was not notified by Wellsfargo ). Today, I found this article in which these people were victim to the exact same crime ( instead of XXXX, mine was a bank wire ) and they were eventually reimbursed : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Additionally, I found this ( I have also filed a complaint with the CFPB ) In a XXXX ruling, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) that oversees financial policies and regulations clarified their position that the Electronic Fund Transfer Act of XXXX, known as Regulation E ( " Reg E '' ) that " if a third party fraudulently induces a consumer into sharing account access information, '' that consumer should receive the same protections as if the money were acquired from a stolen debit card or other banking access device. ''

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, plus or minus a day or two, my checking account was compromised. A representative from Wells Fargo notified me and I immediately changed my account. A week later my debit card was compromised and again, that card was canceled and a new card issued. But here is where the problems begin. The new debit card was mailed to a different address than where I live. I gave no permission to this nor did I give a pin number to said person as Wells Fargo claims center continually keeps telling me I did. So after seven days, I went to bank and told them I had not yet received my new card. When teller looked up to trace she told me it was sent to an address in Texas. The teller also informed me that XXXX $ had been transferred from my savings to my checking/debit account and many transactions had been made. ( a total of XXXX $ ) We immediately canceled this card and again a new card was issued and scheduled to be delivered. When I received a letter from Wells Fargo about my new card that was scheduled to arrive, my address was correct. So I looked back on a the previous letter sent to me about the compromised card, there was no address listed. I have filed three complaints for Wells Fargo to investigate. The only response they keep giving me is that it is my fault. Please look further into this as I DO NOT : 1 ) give permission to mail my new debit to someone in Texas 2 ) know anyone in Texas claim # : XXXX

Consumer Complaint: In pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1602 ( l ) the term " credit card '' was used to initiate a consumer transaction. The term credit card or other credit devices existing for the purposes to obtaining money, property, labor, or services on credit. The term adverse '' action never mentioned anything to do with the consumer getting denied credit. In pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1602 The term credit means the right granted by a creditor to a debtor to defer payment of debt or to incur debt and defer its payment. Credit is my right and I am the one who regularly extends credit in the connection with loans. Banks are the borrowers as described in 12 USC 1431. In pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1602 ( g ) I am the original creditor and I am well aware of my rights, I know that reporting to the consumer agencies is voluntary. This is a private transaction and this an unfavorable situation to me for the consumer. Nowhere in the term adverse action defined within the FCRA does it mention that a natural person can be denied credit. Also per FCRA 604 ( 2 ) there never was a clear written disclosure nor authorization from me as the consumer and also as the natural person. This section also states as a disclosure to the consumer that a CLEAR and CONSPICUOUS disclosure be made in writing and also authorized with the consumers signature before any consumer private protected information can be used or reported. A inquiry popped up on my consumer report which is a receipt of transaction as proof of reporting my federally protected information. As the original creditor, it is not lawful to be denied my right to grant credit. Furthermore, my credit was used and I received no benefit for the use of my credit. In fact, damages were done from the denial of my rights mentally and financially. Ive been discriminated against as there are no federal laws that state a credit score can deny me a right to extend credit. In fact 15 USC 1681a ( 2 ) never mentions a credit score in the description of a consumer report and by federal law should not be included in a consumer report.

Consumer Complaint: My extended family was had rented a vacation house for this summer and I charged the first half on my Wells Fargo card. Several family members have been diagnosed with health problems and are unable to go. So we canceled the trip and the rental company refunded the $ XXXX payment that we made with the card. Now I have a - {$7800.00} credit balance. I want a refund obviously. They tell me that it will take a month to issue a refund check. Its a check. It shouldnt take a month to issue a simple credit balance refund. Meanwhile, we owe several people their share of the down payment and I cant give it to them because Wells Fargo says it takes them a month to issue a check.
