Consumer Complaint: I've been communicating with the 3 bureaus to get all of my old addresses off of my report because I no longer live or own at these establishments. The addresses below need to be deleted ASAP off my credit report due to the FCRA. I recently conducted an investigation on my credit report, which has caused severe distress. I discovered unverifiable, invalidated, inaccurate, and questionable items that your agency failed to ensure were reported accurately, as mandated by 15 U.S. Code 1681e ( b ) on the accuracy of reports. According to 15 U.S. Code 1681i ( 5 ) regarding the treatment of inaccurate or unverifiable information, if, after any reinvestigation under paragraph ( 1 ), any disputed information is found to be inaccurate, incomplete, or can not be verified, the consumer reporting agency is required to : ( i ) promptly delete that inaccurate information from the consumer 's file or modify it appropriately based on the reinvestigation results, and ( ii ) promptly notify the furnisher of that information about the modification or deletion from the consumer 's file. If you are unable to provide me with verifiable proof within 15 days after your investigation, I request that you remove the accounts and/or the listed information. Consumer Complaint: Dispute of Inaccurate Credit Reporting I am writing to formally challenge the accuracy and integrity of certain items that are currently listed on my credit reports with XXXX, TransUnion, and XXXX. Pursuant to my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), I have previously notified the aforementioned consumer reporting agencies and requested that these items be re-investigated. Despite these efforts, the agencies have informed me that they have concluded their investigations and determined that the information is complete and accurate, which clearly conflicts with my records. The disputed accounts and their respective identifying information are as follows : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX As the reporting of the open date, the date of last activity, and other relevant data pertaining to these accounts is inconsistent with my records and understanding, the insistence by the credit agencies that these inaccuracies are indeed correct is deeply troubling. I call your attention to the following provisions of the FCRA, which support my stance and necessitate further action : - Under 15 USC 1681i ( a ), the FCRA mandates that consumer reporting agencies must conduct a reasonable re-investigation of disputed information upon a consumer 's request and correct or delete inaccurately reported information. - According to 15 USC 1681i ( a ) ( 5 ), if an item of information disputed by a consumer is found to be inaccurate or can not be verified after any re-investigation, the reporting agency shall promptly delete such items from the consumer 's file. - Furthermore, 15 USC 1681s-2 ( A ) ( 1 ) prohibits furnishers of information from reporting data they know or have reason to believe is inaccurate. Given these provisions, I am requesting the immediate rectification of these discrepancies by deleting or correcting the aforementioned accounts. The continued reporting of incorrect information is not only a disservice to my consumer rights but clearly falls short of the legal requirements outlined within the FCRA. I implore the CFPB to assist me in this matter by ensuring that an accurate credit profile is maintained, as the implications of erroneous credit reporting can have severe consequences for my financial well-being. I would appreciate written confirmation of the receipt of this letter and further correspondence on the steps that will be taken to resolve this matter. Thank you for your immediate attention to these serious concerns.
