Consumer Complaint: My mortgage statement and payment coupon are not delivered to my house in time for me to make an on time payment on my mortgage. I have complained numerous times to Select Portfolio Servicing Inc.. The company representative states that SPS Inc. is within their rights to delay the generation of and mailing of my statement and payment coupon beyond the grace period date, and that the delay should be blamed on the United States Post Office poor service. The company makes no allowance for my reliance on the USPS to return payment timely. The company stated that if I were to return payment beyond the grace period date, I would be charged a late fee regardless of when my statement and payment coupon was received by me. SPS Inc. representatives state that I could sign up for their internet based payment method. This is unacceptable to me. I do not trust a company, that does not care enough to mail a statement timely, would care enough to safeguard my banking and other personal information online. I have to wait by the mailbox daily hoping that my statement and payment coupon will be delivered in time for me to immediately write out a check and return to them before the date a late fee would be charged or worse, be recorded and reported late to credit agencies. This intentional delay causes undue stress on me. This intentional delay unfairly enriches SPS Inc. as my payment is posted to my account, after the first of the month, every month. I would like the CFPB to address this important issue with SPS Inc.. SPS Inc. acknowledges slower mail delivery, it is incumbent upon this company to adjust the date that my mortgage statement and payment coupon are printed and mailed.

Consumer Complaint: I have a Mortgage with Select Portfolio Servicing for {$160000.00}. On XXXX XX/XX/2022 I paid {$80000.00}. to my Principal. Because my monthly payment didn't change, I asked for a new payment schedule, but the lender answered with a letter telling them that they can't provide MY payment schedule, because it is a privilege information? I am enclosing the letter bellow. Also I called and asked for the mortgage recasting, and they said I don't qualify, when I asked the reason, the operator says she can't tell my reason, just the system doesn't allow her to do it, and when I asked to provide that answer in writing she answered they can't provide it. I would like to add that I never had missing a single payment in my whole life, and that I have an excellent credit score. Honestly I feel they are stealing from me and I believe something is not right in this whole situation.

Consumer Complaint: I have a home loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX that is currently in arrears, and am in danger of losing my home due to their questionable servicing and business-related practices. I have been trying desperately nearly 2 years now to get XXXX XXXX XXXX to work with me on a reasonable payment plan, restructure, loan modification or forbearance but I have had no luck cutting through the red tape. My pleas for help have been completely ignored. I have not been designated a single point of contact, which makes matters even more frustrating. I have never spoken to the person SPS alleges is my designated representative. Its always a different representative when I reach out to SPS to discuss my mortgage issue ( s ). Select Portfolio Servicing received XXXX XXXX dollars in incentive payments for loan modifications from the Department of Treasury as part of programs such as Making Homes Affordable. Only XXXX XXXX dollars of the received funds has been disbursed, thus giving SPS the means to continue to help homeowners like me on the governments dime. Wheres my bailout? I do not want to lose my home, and desperately need your offices help! In XXXX, I acquired my home, signing purchase money loan originated with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. My loan has since been transferred, most recently to XXXX XXXX XXXX. Nevertheless, I tendered my mortgage payments on time, as agreed, for 8 years. However, in XXXX, I incurred a substantial loss of income. The aforementioned event have caused me to struggle to tender my payments on time. I did the best I could to keep up with my mortgage payments, going so far as to deplete my savings and reserves, but I eventually defaulted on my home loan and was moved to foreclosure status. In XXXX, I contacted SPS advising of my struggles to tender my mortgage payments on time. SPSs agents offered me an opportunity to apply for a loan modification. I completed and returned the loan modification application, along with all requested documents. After receiving what seemed like a paper-chase and run-around, I was approved. Next, in XXXX, I began to struggle once again. In XXXX, I submitted a loan modification application only to be denied as a result of me not turning in a document within 30 days of the request. The following week I had a sale date. The sale date was cancelled and I was advised to resubmit my application for assistance. So, in XXXX, XXXX, I resubmitted my application and my submission was denied within a couple weeks without SPS even reviewing my financial documents and no definitive reason as to why there arent any home retention options available to me has not been offered to date. I engaged SPSs agents for assistance with my mortgage crisis, but the only home-retention option offered to me was to tender a lump sum payment to cover the arrears and reinstate my loan. This offer was, and still is, unaffordable to me. I have made every effort to work with SPS, but all of my efforts have yielded negative results. SPSs agents have been extremely unwilling to work with me. No other home-retention options have been offered to me, nor has a timely review of my current financial documents been opened or discussed. This foreclosure could be avoided if Select Portfolio Servicing were to give me the chance to be reviewed fairly, negotiate with me for a lower monthly mortgage payment, and look at more common-sense alternatives to foreclosure. I am not asking for any handouts, only for SPSs agents to at least be fair and consider me for any in-house or other government home-retention programs that are available to melike they did in XXXX when my loan modification application was approved. My income combined with my sons income is enough to afford a reasonable payment and resolve this matter. I need your help cutting through the bureaucracy at SPS. Please help me convince SPS and its agents to stop all foreclosure activity and review my CURRENT financial circumstances to qualify me for a reasonable payment plan, restructure, loan modification, or forbearance. Please, help me by getting SPS to consider helping me instead of foreclosing on my home. I do not want to lose my home, and need your offices help to save it.

Suddenly my escrow account is at $ XXXX, I owe {$1200.00} for the month of XXXX, {$1200.00} for the month of XXXX and will owe XXXX for the month of XXXX, event hough I have consistently paid more than {$390.00} every month except one since my forbearance started, often paying more than {$1200.00}. I don't understand why my payments are {$1200.00} during my forbearance where my payments should be {$390.00}. I don't know why my taxes haven't been paid. And I don't understand why I have a lumps payment of over {$3000.00} due. I talked with a representative with SPS servicing and HOPE and am still very confused I feel like SPS servicing is committing fraud.

The forbearance ended XX/XX/XXXX, Remitted mortgage payment XX/XX/XXXX, {$2200.00}, XX/XX/XXXX {$4300.00} and XX/XX/XXXX {$2200.00} for a total {$8700.00}. Spoke with XXXX Select Port Folio Collections dept. XX/XX/XXXX. He stated some of the funds were applied to late fees, foreclosure fee and Inspections fees for years of XXXX XXXX. The mortgage was modified for the delinquent payments between XXXX. Select Port Folio never notified me of this, and they were informed all payments were to be applied to the months the mortgage was in forbearance. Select Port Folio is charging XXXX times for fees that have been included in the mortgage modification.

Consumer Complaint: spoke to rep XXXX XX/XX/XXXX @ XXXX rep stated a new payoff quote was genereated on XXXX that should have been used ( showing their escrow disbursement ) I explained we sent the payoff one day before that quote was generated XXXX so that would not have been possible. I let her know that tax check was cut and sent XXXX and cashed XX/XX/XXXX. I asked if their cash check has been cashed and she stated it still shows as " processing ''. They sent their tax check on XXXX, the county confirmed they have NOT received a tax check from the lender, only from escrow. She asked that I send proof of tax payment to XXXX ( sent XX/XX/XXXX ). THEY ARE REFUSING TO SUBMIT PROOF THAT THEY CUT AND SENT THEIR TAX CHECK ON XXXX She finally said that she would go ahead and place a stop pay on their tax check. She asked that I give it a day to Process ( tomorrow XX/XX/XXXX ) and call back on XXXX. She also said she is putting in a note in the system that if their stop pay goes through, that I am requesting for our original payoff amount to be honored. Called back Monday to be told they never placed a " stop pay ''. WE ARE WANTING SPS TO HONOR THE DATE OF THE ORGINAL PAYOFF SENT ON XXXX AND TO REFUND US THE INTEREST THAT WAS COLLECTED FROM THAT DATE ON.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, our loan processor, Select Portfolio Servicing , Inc . Took two loan payments of {$4600.00} each when only one was due. Since then, they have not returned the extra payment despite a dozen plus phone calls and letters to them, including sending our bank statement showing non-receipt of any refund. We see in online reviews that they have done this to other people as well. It strikes me that they are taking extra payments and holding back refund monies unfairly and repeatedly.
