Consumer Complaint: I have documents and payment proof for every single transaction. My mortgage was merged over to Select Portfolio Servicing Inc on XX/XX/XXXX. In XXXX I paid a grand total of {$74000.00}. In XXXX I paid a grand total of {$330000.00} From XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX I paid a grand total of {$410000.00} I tracked all of this day to day in order to avoid all interest charges that were associated with this mortgage. On XX/XX/XXXX - I received my payoff statement showing that I overpaid my mortgage by {$48.00}. And Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. owes me {$48.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX my mortgage as officially Paid In Full with a XXXX balance. On XX/XX/XXXX I received my official XXXX balance Letter / Paid in Full Statement from Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. On XX/XX/XXXX I received my official Mortgage Statement from Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. showing that my mortgage is Paid in Full with a {$0.00} Balance. On XX/XX/XXXX, I finally received my full payment history showing all payments bringing my Mortgage to a XXXX balance {$0.00} Then, out of nowhere, I log into my Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. online account XX/XX/XXXX, and it shows that I magically have THREE ( 3 ) DIFFERENT MORTGAGE BALANCES as of yesterday Monday XX/XX/XXXX. The Three ( 3 ) different balances show the following : The 1st balance shows that I have a principal balance of {$0.00} ( one cent ). The 2nd balance shows that I am due a credit of {$180.00} as I overpaid my Mortgage on purpose to avoid interest. And the 3rd balance shows that I have a XXXX Balance / Paid in Full Account at {$0.00} This is where EVERYTHING becomes so suspicious, fraudulent and just outright nasty. After speaking to someone for over 35 minutes by the name of " XXXX '', they finally connect me with " XXXX XXXX '' who explained that yes I have a principal balance of {$0.00} and that this account will come to a close and be updated and marked as Paid in Full as of today XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX promised to call & no call at all. Then I log into my Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. account today and they have the AUDACITY to state that I now have a Mortgage Balance due for {$4700.00} and now my monthly mortgage payment went from {$2400.00} to {$98.00}???!!!! This is outright fraud, this is completely illegal, they refuse to show me any proof or documents and I will not stand for it. Just to prove them wrong and show them how illegal it is what theyre doing, I set up an automatic payment for {$4700.00} that will be paid tomorrow morning, XX/XX/XXXX. And I sent another {$10.00} wire transfer dated for today as Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. last payment always has to come via Certified check or wire. Over the past Four ( 4 ) Days I have made Seven ( 7 ) Payments in order to attempt to close out my account again, and each and every one of these Seven ( 7 ) Payments are being overcharged and need to be returned to me as I have had a XXXX Balance since XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX Wire Payment for {$10.00} XX/XX/XXXX ACH Payment for {$4400.00} XX/XX/XXXX ACH Payment for {$270.00} XX/XX/XXXX Wire Payment for {$20.00} XXXX Wire Payment for {$10.00} XXXX Wire Payment for {$60.00}

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Fully Closed and finalized my mortgage XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX is the provider of my mortgage XX/XX/XXXX Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. was the new holder and provider of my mortgage. Between XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX I made over XXXX phone calls week by week explaining that I want this Mortgage to show up on my Consumer Credit Reports within XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX. They promised it would show up on my Consumer Credit Reports over the phone each and every time. They lied to me each and ever time. Consumer Complaint: I refinanced my home with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The condition of the mortgage was : the property taxes are escrowed by the mortgage servicer. Consequently, Select portfolio servicing took over the loan from XXXX XXXX Despite my numerous calls and an email message to Select portfolio servicing, they are refusing to pay the first quarter property tax to the city of XXXX despite having amassed over XXXX in my escrow account. The tax was dues XX/XX/XXXX. Now I received a letter from the City of XXXX saying the account is past dues and there is interest assessed on the account. Select portfolio servicing must pay the first quarter taxes.

Consumer Complaint: Hello my name is XXXX XXXX I have made a complaint regarding my insurance back in XXXX I got a response back telling me that my insurance is canceled but I see now in my statement it shows its already paid but its not so I called my insurance to check if its paid and they told me that my insurance is apparently cancel but in my statement it apparently shows me that they made the payment on XX/XX/XXXX and now they returned my payment on XX/XX/XXXX but it has never been paid because I called my insurance and they inform that they never sent the payment to them also in my escrow disbursement history shows that they put {$2800.00} in my escrow disbursement history but it doesnt exist but in my statement they are adding my {$2800.00} to my loan so now I dont have enough money to pay any insurance because they are adding my money the {$2800.00} to my loan

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ( Mortgage Servicer was XXXX XXXX ) approved me for a Permanent Loan Modification as a result of medical and financial hardships that I was experiencing. The Permanent Loan Modification confirmed an Interest Rate of 2 % from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, followed by an Interest Rate of 3 % from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, followed by a locked-in n Interest Rate of 3.625 % for the remaining life ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX Maturity Date ) of the loan as stated in the Permanent Loan Modification. As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc. ( SPS ) approved me for a COVID-19 Forbearance Plans ( with paused payments ) beginning in XX/XX/XXXX throughout XXXX into XXXX. In XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX, SPS approved me for a three ( 3 ) Month COVID-19 Trial Forbearance Plan with partial payments in the amount of {XXXX for each month., of which I made all of the payments on time. In XX/XX/XXXX, SPS, Inc. then approved me for a a Three ( 3 ) Month COVID-19 Trial Modification Plan for XXXX, XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX with payments for each month in the amount of {XXXX} ; of which I made all of the payments on time and SPS, Inc. would then offer me a Permanent Loan Modification. On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted SPS, Inc. and spoke to SPS Representative XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) because I had not received the Permanent Loan Modification Documents that I was required to review and sign. As a result of my inquiry, XXXX ID # XXXX told me that SPS was mailing the Permanent Modification Documents and I should receive them soon. XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) only told me that I could Refinance with another company if I did not like the terms of the Permanent Loan Modification that SPS , Inc. was offering. XXXX ( ID # XXXX also told me of the terms of the Permanent Modification with the following Interest Rates increments as follows : 3 % - XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX 4 % - XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX 5 % - XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX 6 % - XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX 7 % - XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX 8 % - XX/XX/XXXX to Maturity Date of XX/XX/XXXX I told XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) that the Interest Rate and Terms of the Permanent Modification were extreme, unfair, needed to be revised, that I did not agree with the terms and asked her to have the SPS Representative assigned to my account to please give me a call as soon as possible. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I received the Permanent Loan Modification Documents via XXXX ( attached to this complaint ). I believe that SPS , Inc. is taking advantage of me as a Consumer, are not honoring my requests for COVID-19 with a Permanent Loan Modification that is fair, reasonable and that is not " Predatory. '' The increasing Interest Rates and terms that SPS is offering me will have me in a position where I will not be able to afford the monthly payments and will not be able to stay in my home as time goes by. I am respectfully asking CFPB to thoroughly review and investigate the attached SPS, Inc. Permanent Loan Modification documents to identify the " Predatory '' and extremely unreasonable terms that SPS, Inc. has subjected me to as listed within the Permanent Loan Modification documents.

Consumer Complaint: The CARES Act and Credit Reports states ...... If you made an arrangement with a creditor they can not report your payments as past due. This is as long as your account was already current. This applies to agreements made between XX/XX/XXXX and 120 days after XX/XX/XXXX or 120 days after the COVID-19 national emergency ends. ****In XX/XX/XXXX SELECT PORTFOLIO SVCIN is reporting a late payment to my credit report however, I had followed all steps of making a valid payment arrangement via the cares act with this company during the covered periods however the company is still reporting inaccurately to all XXXX of the national credit agencies I was current before and after that time also.If you are current on payments and make special arrangements, creditors must report the account as current. Late and missed payments CAN NOT be reported if you have already made arrangements.

Consumer Complaint: I surrendered a rental property back to the mortgagee in 2012. The property was charged off rather than foreclosures and sent to a collection company. They attempted to collect on the debt and it was later purchased by another company who also attempted to collect. It was later charged off after several years. The property itself was demolished by the city because of it being in poor condition. However, the city is still assessing me property taxes since it is in my name. I tried donating the lot to the city in order to erase the back taxes but there is still a mortgage on the property. The mortgage company wants to pay {$1000.00} in order to release the lien on it so it can be donated.
