The item I sold was sent to the buyer who refused to sign for the item cause it to come back unclaimed ( return was not authorized nor was it returned properly ). Consumer Complaint: I have had an account with Paypal since XXXX that currently holds {$100.00}. I am trying to withdraw the funds to any other account. Paypal claims I need to verify my identity, but has refused all my attempts at providing identifying information, and now claims there is a 180-day freeze on my account, but will not provide further information. Talking to Customer Service Reps ( CSR ), I have received the following contradictory and often incoherent answers : - You need to submit the identifying documents ( I have done this three times ) -You need to wait 24-48 hours or up to 10 days for the system to " refresh '' ( I've been waiting over a month ) -Your account has a permanent hold for 180 days. -You can transfer the balance in your PayPal account to your bank account or to send you a check. You can't withdraw your money now because we want to make sure that you have money in your account to cover any new complaints or chargeback. -We have found potential risk involved with your account, transactions and activities as to why as a business decision we are parting ways with you. - '' Dear XXXX XXXX ( not my name nor anyone I've ever met ), we are unable to verify your identity. '' I just want to be able to escalate this issue to someone who can actually verify my identity and let me take out my funds.

Consumer Complaint: I deposited XXXX one day. I sent my landlord XXXX for part of my rent and that left a balance of XXXX. PayPal decided that that was suspicious activity and put a freeze on my account. I tried transferring it to my own bank that is linked to my PayPal, it would'nt work. I tried sending the balance to my landlord, it would'nt work. I was on the phone multiple times with representatives saying the problem had been fixed and I should be able to send and receive any amount. Nothing worked. SO VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter sent me XXXX from me selling different things at an antique show. My dads pocket watches and mantle clock and different things I have been accumulating all these XXXX years of my life. I informed them of what each transaction was and they still decided to hold my funds. I am SO FURIOUS. How can a company decide to hold someone elses money??? and for so long???? I need that money for my care. It is not acceptable and the time of 180 days is extremely inappropriate. PLEASE help me!!!!!! I am not happy. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: PayPal closed my account for no reason. I worked hard for my money. I deposited my stimulus check and also my payroll check into the PayPal account. They immediately put a freeze on it until I could answer them where the money came from. They said there was suspicious activity. I am soooooooooo ANGRY!!!!! I worked hard for that money. Holding my money for 180 days is NOT an option. I am a single lady working hard and I need that money back. If they don't want my business that is completely fine cause at this point I don't trust them. I just need my money back. They are holding a total of XXXX. I talked to account representatives multiple times " Oh XXXX we are sorry for this I will help you '' " here is a voucher for XXXX for the inconvenience ''. NOT interested in a voucher! I also talked to a manager and he said there was nothing he could do. It is their policy to keep accounts " safe ''. I said it was me who deposited the money and it is me in the flesh who set up my account. If I had a question about a transaction I would be the first to call. I got NO help from him. He said it would go to the review board and I would have an answer within 24-72 hours. Answer was I " You can no longer use PayPal ''. I don't understand the 180 days hold on my money!!! We started to manufacture vape units for retail and export on XXXX and has been using Paypal for international transactions ever since. Our business is complete with permits, we work with legitimate suppliers and couriers. Paypal asked for proof and eventually upgrading my account to business. XX/XX/XXXX Paypal put a limit on my account without any warnings. They sent an email, saying that they will need to put a hold on my funds for 180 days. I found out from other clients that tobacco and e-cigarette products are not allowed to be sold via PayPal. For two weeks, I called, and messaged PayPal but no resolutions. I received an email saying that PayPal found my account as a potential risk and was promised to receive an email after the 180 day hold, with the instructions on how to withdraw my funds. May 14-15, 2021 Again without any warnings, Paypal took away all my funds. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$8300.00} With this description : Payment to : Paypal XXXX PayPal 's damages caused by Acceptable Use Policy violation ;. After talking to PayPal for more than 2 weeks, again no resolution.

Consumer Complaint: Hello. I have a personal account with PayPal and have a balance of over {$60000.00} in my account currently. PayPal notified me the other day that I am no longer allowed to do business with PayPal and that they would be freezing my account for 180 days. I do not use PayPal to sell anything -- it is an account I use to buy things online, buy groceries, pay bills, rent, etc. My husband sends his profits ( post-tax ) from his business account to my account. The fact that they are holding my balance for 180 days seems cruel considering we are still in the middle of a pandemic. I have always been in good standing with PayPal and have never had any issues -- this happened abruptly and without warning. I have since spoken with PayPal multiple times, but they won't give me specific details on why they made this decision. Now a large portion of my money is frozen for 180 days. I no longer wish to do any business with PayPal, but I need my money back sooner than 180 days. Please help.
