Consumer Complaint: This complaint is about PayPal 's failure to explain an email to me from them that discussed a transaction ( that was reversed/cancelled ) that I do not to this day recognize, I attempted for several hours to get information from PayPal, even talking to a supervisor to no avail. No one at PayPal in their XXXX call center can explain to me why I got the email, why I got it way after the alleged transaction, why the situation was that created the email and alleged transaction- nor can PayPal give me any details. I have XXXX PayPal accounts. They are in good standing. I sent the email I received from PayPal, that appeared suspicious to XXXX and all I got repeatedly was " canned '' automatic responses. No one responded to my questions about the transaction and the email. Then I called to no avail, sent the email in question as directed by a supervisor to XXXX from a different email address of mine from the one I received the email from XXXX ( and sent multiple emails to XXXX ). Still, no one could tell me anything about why I got the email in the first place nor more details regarding the transaction that allegedly was a money request that was cancelled. Given that I was the victim of identity theft through XXXX AND Paypal years ago, I am concerned. Despite my telling PayPal this, they appear not to care whatsoever and were of no use or help at all in just telling me to send it to XXXX ( which I repeatedly did with NO human response back ). I want to know more about this email and transaction. PayPal has an obligation to explain emails that they originate!

Consumer Complaint: Paypal closed my account for no reason and will not help me getting it back up and going. I am not sure if this is a mistake as I assume it has to be. I have not been able to get help from them for a long time. But I could just remembered I could file a report on here as I feel they are not doing their job properly and it is affecting me a great deal as I used Paypal quite frequently. My email linked to my Paypal is XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: In late XXXX I set up a Personal PayPal account in order to sell some of my personal items online. I have had a business account with them for many years and have done hundreds of thousands of dollars on that account with no issues. I have had 3 small transactions ( all under {$20.00} ) and they have immediatly held my funds on each with numerious reasons given. I have called 5 times and finally got the first two released. Now I just got another held even though PayPal sent me two different emails saying that " Congratulations! You are now an estabilished Seller. '' Were happy to let you know that you are now an established seller with us. Payments you receive from today onwards will usually be instantly available to you, and money currently in your pending balance should be available within 21 days of the transaction date. '' It seems so wrong for them to hold my money. They have my credit card on file, They have my Bank Account Information on File, They have my outstanding and long standing business information on file, I immediatly ship and furnish them tracking numbers and yet this is how they treat me. This is exactly how XXXX companies work. Raising Fees ( They just took a huge fee increase ), Holding Funds, and making it difficult for people to get their money. Great way to make your numbers look good to the stock market? I DO NOT have issues like this with my long standing business account but with all the information they have there is now reason I see that they can justify holding my funds.

Consumer Complaint: I was emailed by paypal because someone had recently charged back causing my paypal to go negative. This is very inconvenient because I am being falsely accused to pay money that I shouldn't be paying. I am wondering how this can be resolved because I shouldn't be having to pay {$490.00} due to someone having the ability to charge back and cause my paypal to go negative. The email regrading my paypal account is XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: PayPal decided to take unilateral action to restrict my account and hold my funds. I attempted to transfer an existing account balance of {$5800.00} from PayPal to my linked bank account. PayPal decided to " Deny '' transferring my balance to my bank account, permanently restrict my PayPal account access, and hold my balance of {$5800.00} for 180 days. When I contacted PayPal, they offered no resolution other than to sit and wait the 6 months to receive my money back.

Consumer Complaint: This is the email, I had first written to PayPal written on the XX/XX/2022, Hi, thanks for taking the time out to respond. Im currently very upset right now as I woke up to see a very concerning email regarding the closure of my account. Im writing to explain the recent transactions on my account and see if I can possibly get a release of the money in my balance. I recently sold a hoodie on the XXXX app and I provided tracking and shipping information and the parcel should be received by the buyer by XX/XX/2022. The last two transactions were items bought on XXXX but I had refunded the buyers as I sold the item somewhere else. These are the only activities that were going on in my account as I only use this to receive money and withdraw. Im pleading to help to either undo the limitation on my account or at the very least allow me to withdraw the money in my account as I need this to pay for debts and medication for a family member. Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. They had closed my account for no reason and when I had asked them they said they believe my account may be involved in suspicious activity but they were not certain. I had explained the recent charges but they did not care and the customer service decided to initiate a very lousy response. They had also stated they will hold my PayPal balance for 180 days with no reason as to why. My email is XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Open up an account with PayPal to do some casual transactions every single time I received money PayPal locked my account and held my thumbs until I provided you know corresponding information which is understandable so it happened about 3 times and then I received another payment after getting an email saying that I'd become an unknown and established seller and they're still holding the funds but the seller the buyer I mean contacted PayPal and verified the transaction and they released the funds to me so the funds became available Shortly after that I received a payment that I didn't Fully agreed to because it was a lot of a lesser amount than I had wanted so I refunded the payment that payment triggered limitation on the account pending I provide the information which I did and they just still shut my account down and won't let me have my money in my account for a 180 days no explanation very rude

Consumer Complaint: My issue is with Venmo. I have a personal Venmo and one for my small business. Neither account was used excessively. The business account, on average, handled {$200.00} a month in sales. The only payments I made from it was a monthly payment to an advertising company who handled our social media accounts. I stopped making payments to them several months ago. My personal account was mainly transactions between myself and my daughter who is in college. I would send her money each month for her rent and groceries. Both accounts have been permanently frozen. I asked why and they would not give me an answer. I am not running an illegal business, and I report all sales thru Venmo on my taxes. How can I resolve this if no one is willing to help me at Venmo? Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MO XXXX XXXX
