Consumer Complaint: Venmo froze my account without any explanation other than what they are claiming is " apparent fraud '' on the account. This occurred after I accumulated a {$3000.00} balance in the account from rent reimbursement from an associate. Once I attempted to transfer the {$3000.00} to my XXXX XXXX bank account ( Which has been linked to my Venmo account for years ) the account was frozen. I no longer have access to these funds and have attempted to resolve this by calling Venmo. After eight business days of my account being frozen, and after multiple attempts to resolve this issue directly with Venmo via phone calls and emails, I have no choice but to report this to you.

Consumer Complaint: I was contacted by Venmo regarding an attempt by someone to send money to someone living at a refugee camp near XXXX, XXXX. I told them it was complete nonsense. They contacted me on XX/XX/XXXX and told me that someone made a mistake but that they wouldn't do that again. One XX/XX/XXXX - one week later!! - they were contacting me about a {$2000.00} transfer to someone from XXXX XXXX Bank. I told them it was fraud. They refused to help me unless I provided them with a picture of my driver 's license. Which has my full, legal name, my address, and my DOB. I'm not going to provide that to them to facilitate other schemes they may have.

Consumer Complaint: Follow up on Complaint Number XXXX.filed XX/XX/2021 concerning deposit from PayPal that was never deposited into my account. PayPal has not responded to any of my latest inquiries concerning a missing deposit of {$970.00} of XX/XX/2021 that they have only stated that the lost deposit is " under investigation ''. XX/XX/2021 PayPal listed a deposit to my business account for {$970.00} but then immediately " reversed '' the deposit. After many calls to PayPal concerning the deposit that never cleared my bank account, PayPal initiated a " provisional deposit '' of {$970.00} to my account on XX/XX/2021. On XX/XX/2021 PayPal withdrew the " provisional deposit '' of {$970.00} from my account on XX/XX/2021 and continued to claim the the missing deposit continued to be " under review ''. As of this date ( XXXX ) I have not received this missing deposit of {$970.00} in my account. PayPal has not responded to any recent inquiries.

Consumer Complaint: My sister accidentally sent money to an old Venmo account of mine when trying to send it somewhere else. We contacted Venmo and they refuse to reverse the transaction saying I owe them money for a failed payment that should have never been made. Never did I receive a notice regarding the failed payment and they paid it basically making me responsible for something that shouldnt have gone through. Now, my sister is trying to get her money back and she cant because the collections department refuses to give her money back.

Consumer Complaint: Contacted PayPal multiple time last to close my account. Theyve stated they cant. My personal account was verified never made any transactions or anything I had to upgrade my account to be able to receive payments for my work. Thats the only change that was made Ive never had any other PayPal account or did business with PayPal. They just shut my account down and not allowing me to close so I can use the other service my employer provide call stripe which is illegal I dont have to use your service but you cant hold my business hostage either.

Consumer Complaint: VENMO APP - should be stopped immediately and people should NOT be allowed to use this service; they will rip you off of money! If they lock your account for no reason or temporarily lock you, there is no way to talk to someone to find out why ; they have your money sitting in their account and you can't even transfer it to your account- it's your money ; not there's ; they lock your account ; you can't get to your money Many people are using this company to transfer money between friends/family -- they NEED to STOP now -- people can loose their money and in an economy like this, people can't afford to loose money -- -they want to act like a bank, but provide NO CUSTOMER SERVICE; human robots answer the phone - tell you an account specialist can help you but no way to get to these " account specialist '' you are at their mercy to contact you ; they are people behind a computer with no way to talk to and they HOLD your MONEY -- STOP VENMO APP NOW -- before more people loose their money -- they are not a bank - they need to stop pretending to be one ; the federal government needs to shut them DOWN VENMO BEFORE MORE PEOPLE LOOSE THEIR MONEY!!!

Consumer Complaint: Venmo. I was sent money ( {$600.00} ) VIA Venmo from a friend in-person for personal reasons. Not a purchase. Not a scam and not loan sharking of any kind. Venmo, 1 week ago froze the account holding funds claiming there MUST have been an email reason as to why and NO there was never an email. In fact I checked all devices and folders including Spam. There simply never was an email. They said 3-5 day its now a week. This has caused many issues and still i call/email daily even opened a XXXX dispute. They will NOT give info to me as to what has been an " issue '' as there simply hasn't been anything wrong done here. XXXX add the accounts been open since 2020 but not used often as other apps are the way to go for me.
