Consumer Complaint: I made a purchase with PayPal for XXXX. This was an upstart venture that never launched. The person running the service refunded everyone 's money in the same fashion that was used to make the payment. I attempted to retrieve MY money from PayPal. I do NOT and WILL NOT provide PayPal with my debit/checking account #, as I see that risky, especially since I know someone whose PayPal account was hacked and had fraudulent credit card charges. Furthermore, I could deal with fraudulent credit card, but NOT debit card, as that's MY money. They have an option to get a check cut. I went through this option with a representative online two times, and the system is broken. It would not allow me to retrieve MY money, and the representative stated that this is the only way the money can be released. She then connected me with XXXX ( supervisor # XXXX, ) who refused to help me any further, even though THEIR SYSTEM is broken. I would have expected him to take this breakage to his IT team, and then call me back when the matter is resolved, but he simply stated that there was nothing he can do. My attempts at escalation resulted in his claim that there is nobody else above him and that's it. So bottom line, PayPal is stealing {$45.00} from me.

Consumer Complaint: Recently I have received numerous text messages stating that there are problems with my Paypal account. I have deleted them as I believe they were phishing attempts. XX/XX/2022 I received an email that stated that a recovery phone number had been added to my Paypal account -- I did not add that phone number. Now, when I try to log on to Paypal, it says it is sending a code to this unauthorized number and I can't log on. XX/XX/2022 I received an email at my work email stating that my credit card on file with Paypal is expired. Paypal was unavailable during the entire holiday weekend to address my concerns. I believe Paypal has 3 separate accounts open for me and I do not trust that company 's controls over my accounts and credit card information. I spoke with a representative and his supervisor today. They told me that I would need to go through every credit card in my wallet to verify my account with them. That was only for ONE of the accounts I believe has been opened by Paypal. So they informed him to tell me to refund the money and he would get his money back immediately so we did that and they put that on hold also after the representative told us it wouldnt be a hold. Because of that he sent another payment which they also put on hold. We called complaining so they released 1 of the payments to me. So there was still the other XXXX on hold. My customers called in needing his XXXX back that was on hold. They took almost about 2 months to refund him but when they refunded him but instead of them taking the XXXX they had on hold from his credit card they tried taking it as an echeck from my XXXX which I didnt give them permission to do. They couldnt get it from XXXX because I had nothing in the bank they have negatived my PayPal account and now is threatening to report it to collections when they have the {$95.00}
