Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir or Madam, I am trying to find help solving a financial issue with PayPal. On XX/XX/2022 my cousin XXXX XXXX attempted to pay me back for a loan of {$1400.00}. In order to receive the money, PayPal was asking for my Income Tax Information which I declined to provide. I don't give such information to any non governmental agencies because I have been a victim of identity theft before. Therefore, since I declined the transaction, I asked XXXX to cancel it and pay me the money in another way such as wire transfer to my checking account. PayPal is sending emails requesting that I pay them {$76.00}. They do not want to explain why I should pay them for a transaction that was cancelled. And I insisted, I never received the money. XXXX, my cousin, was told he needed to pay {$15.00} to cancel the transaction. I spoke with PayPal representatives at XXXX and they were only interested in collecting the {$76.00} They were not really interested in helping me. And they could not explain why I should pay for a money that I never received. I am kindly asking your help solving this issue. PayPal should cease and desist to continue sending emails asking me to pay the {$76.00} I would also like CFPB to add this letter to the PayPal 's file for poor business practices. Sincerely, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from " Bill Department of PayPal '' noting that 3 {$200.00} XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX had been purchased and were to be delivered to XXXX. At the bottom was the note : " There is evidence that your PayPal account has been accessed unlawfully. '' I could call XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX for assistance. I did that. It took several tries but I reached someone called " XXXX XXXX '' who was obviously off shore. He wanted me to use bhelps.us on XXXX which would not load. After several tries I was able to download a bank which he promised would allow me to indicate where the {$600.00} could be returned. He instructed me to open an on-line account with the bank. I did not because at that time it was clear that what he wanted me to do was to open that not to return the funds but to get access to the funds. He told me that my ID had been compromised using the name of XXXX XXXX in XXXX, who by the way is an architect. I did not make the purchase and if I had it would have been by credit card and wanted him to cancel the purchase. He became agitated saying I would not get my {$600.00} back unless I opened up my account. We do not use any electronic banking. He said that our early 45 minute call was being recorded for the FBI and the FTC, no I did not believe that. When he got to the bank issue I hung up. I contacted XXXX who does daily monitoring of my information. The person I spoke to said that this was not the first he had heard of using PayPal ; others included XXXX and XXXX. I checked with my banks and there were no withdrawals or deposits of the {$600.00}.

Consumer Complaint: Hello to whom it may concern, my name is XXXX and I am writing to you because what is happening about this case is unacceptable at this point. I purchased an item from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX, the item did not get delivered until second week of XX/XX/XXXX. I paid for this item with my XXXX XXXX CARD that I had saved in my PAYPAL ACCOUNT. I received the item completely damaged and had to go back and forth with XXXX to agree to take the item back, after a few months of going back and forth with them they finally accepted the return and reached out to me letting me know they will refund me to my original method of payment. About 2 weeks went by and I still did not receive a refund. I followed up with them and they told me they released the money back to PAYPAL, and PAYPAL SHOULD HAVE RELEASED IT back to my XXXX XXXX card. I called Paypal they told me they sent it to XXXX XXXX, I assured them they did not because I never received the money back. I called XXXX XXXX and they told me they never received the money from Paypal. At this point I was so frustrated because it was a back and forth and nobody was able to tell me where my money is. I had a 3 way call with both XXXX AND PAYPAL, and XXXX told PAYPAL SUPERVISOR LOUD AND CLEAR they never received the money from them therefore they are not able to credit me anything back. XX/XX/XXXX PAYPAL Told me they were going to find out where the money is, it is now been a month and a half later and every time I call them they tell me I need to call XXXX and at this point I am tired of this situation. I keep paying interest on a money amount that should have been credited to my account months ago and no one is willing to take responsibility for this and give me my money back. Every time I call them they pretend they do not know what happened.
