Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I contacted Venmo customer support because I noticed XXXX transactions that I did not make on my account that totaled to {$440.00} cents. They canceled my debit card and are sending a new one but the dispute I filed to get my money back has now been denied. There reason is this ; you were still sending and receiving money during the time that this took place. Venmo has failed to do their job at protecting their customers and actually doing an investigation on my account.

Consumer Complaint: have been using PayPal to receive payments for my online business and also paid some of my staff using same platform. all was fine until i get notified that my account has been permanently limited. I immediately contacted the executive office and was told that one of the accounts I used to make payments to and they linked to me had a limitation hence why i was also banned I feel this was not fair on my part as I can not have control over how other people use their PayPal accounts I just really want my account back. I have a XXXX family friend who is now a client who is buying bulk clothing from me, shes been placing a lot of orders. Ive been withdrawing her payments, but they dont let me so I think I triggered the PayPal system by trying multiple times. I cant log into my email as of now, Ill try in an hour. Consumer Complaint: I have an account with Venmo , LLC that was created with my old cell phone number and my existing email address. When I created the account I linked it to my primary bank account ( which is still on the account ). The handle is XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX a family member paid {$110.00} to this account ( Payment ID : XXXX ) but I am unable to access my Venmo account and my money because I do not have access to the cell phone number I had when I created the account. I have the correct login credentials ( login and password ) but Venmo is requiring a two-factor text to verify my identity. I contacted Venmo to help me reset the account. I provided my email address and banking details at their request ( which is supposed to unlock my account ). Venmo is insisting that I provide a scan of my face and Government ID to reset my account. They specifically said not to omit or cover any information on your ID. I think I should not have to hand over this personal data to this company since I have no assurances they will use it responsibly. I find it very disconcerting that they do not have a process to unlock my account without providing them with a scan of my ID and my face. They also have no way of reaching customer service except for submitting a case through their website and waiting for someone to correspond via email. Most responsible financial institutions have a process to establish identity by answering security questions or identifying past financial transactions known only to the real account holder ( old address, mortgage lender, etc ). Its almost like they are capturing my money by design.

Consumer Complaint: On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX, at approximately XXXX ( XXXX ), my friend initiated a transfer of {$620.00} via Venmo . The Purpose of this transaction was to move said funds into her XXXX XXXX account, to which she is unable to do on her own ( presumably due to lack of money card or general technical acumen ). Being a good friend, I agreed to assist her in this, as we had done several times previously with no problems. The initial transfer occurred at XXXX. Afterwards, I proceeded to transfer aid funds to my XXXX XXXX account, using XXXX card ending in XXXX. This occurred at approximately XXXX XXXX. From that point, I transferred the funds to her ( {$640.00} ), with XXXX XXXX Identifier # XXXX. At no time was there any commercial or criminal activity at hand. The next day, XXXX XXXX claimed some sort of problem existed and filled a dispute. The next day ( XX/XX/XXXX ), my Venmo account was emptied of funds in an attempt to start covering the costs of my disputed transaction, along with being locked out my account until I can reimburse Venmo for the remaining {$620.00} of this transaction Im somehow now liable for. As it stands now, she has double her money ( initial money *and* the reimbursement from the disputed transaction : quite a tidy little profit ) and I lost actual money by being taken to cover my debt. I also dont have regular access to my account because : you'll need to pay back the full balance to restore your account. And, lest we forget : the effect this debt will have on my credit score wont be good for me at all!

XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, where I have been a customer for over 40 years, replaced the money in a timely fashion. PayPal returned only half because " the transaction appeared legitimate. '' Since someone purporting to be from PayPal initiated contact with me and other reasons, I believe that the XXXX fraudsters actually work for PayPal. I tried to pay for groceries this week with funds from PayPal and was told by the grocery delivery company I use that PayPal denied payment. Today I received an email from " PayPal '' informing me that my payment to " XXXX '' for {$540.00} was successful. I will not go to the PayPal site nor call them because that's how it started initially. There's more, but that's the gist of it. Please, please, please help me.

Consumer Complaint: I asked Venmo to freeze my account with them as I was out of the country and couldn't readily access it, which they did on XX/XX/2022. I then asked them to unfreeze the account on XX/XX/2022, which they said they would look into within 6-7 business days. I sent a separate request for unfreezing my account on XX/XX/2022, finally getting a response on XX/XX/2022. I was asked to upload a picture of government issued ID, and a picture of me holding it. I uploaded a photo of my passport and selfies of me holding it on XX/XX/2022, which was rejected. I find it incredulous that a passport -- arguably one of the most secure forms of ID issued by state or federal government -- could be rejected. I have since sent a photo of my driver 's license, but this is just ridiculous, and arguably unsafe for me to keep transmitting photos of my IDs all in the name of keeping me safe.

On XX/XX/2022, I opened the gift card for the first timed and checked its balance online, only to notice that someone has already used this brand new gift card : XX/XX/2022 PAYPAL XXXX XXXX XXXX {$960.00} XX/XX/202XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA - {$0.00} The fraudulent transactions were done by PayPal and it includes the phone number XXXX which is a known scam number. I did not make that purchase and in fact haven't opened up the card until XX/XX/XXXX. I already contacted XXXX XXXX multiple times but they have explained that I need to work with the merchant, PayPal, to resolve this dispute. A CFPB complaint against XXXX also states the same. The credit card number in question is in the attached file XXXX
