Consumer Complaint: I purchased a few pairs of sneakers from XXXX XXXX XXXX via PayPal. Beginning in XXXX of XXXX until XXXX of XXXX This was a pre-order for sneakers that were said to release later in the year. Fast forward to XXXX, word came that this particular company was being investigated for fraud and was dissolving the business, hence leaving my pre-orders in doubt, having already paid. I am mediately filed claims with PayPal under buyer protection, which are in their terms and services. They were receiving so many claims from similar people who were scammed, and kept delaying a resolution to refund money. Finally after 3 months ( they are supposed to take 30 days max ), they informed me that they denied my claim because I violated the terms of service And later stated that reason was because my purchase was intended for resale This is clearly just away from PayPal not honoring their commitment to their customers, because not only were are all my purchases from this vendor singular shoe orders in my personal size, they have no proof that my purchase was for resale other than they can not disclose it to me for security reasons. I know there are many more who PayPal is doing this to and needs to be investigated immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I have now been fighting with Venmo for several weeks to get at least a provisional credit for {$5500.00} in fraudulent transactions that occurred in my account. This money was withdrawn from my checking account. When I logged into to make a payment to a friend I noticed 4 unauthorized transactions and immediately reported them to Venmo. I am out over {$5500.00}. I did not receive any text for notification of these transfers and they mustve occurred through thrud stirrers access in Venmo service. I confirm through the representative that the fraudulent transactions came from an IP address that money was never requested or sent to my account ever in the past. After reporting this transactions to Venmo within a day or two they denied the claim. I spent hours on the phone with their call center and also asked to speak to the manager with no help whatsoever. They then requested I send email to XXXX to appeal the denied cliam which I did and I never received a response or even an acknowledgment of the appeal request. No provisional credit while they complete their investigation. How am I supposed to pay my bills?? I really need The CFPBs help.

PayPal has also said that they would get back to me by XX/XX/2022 at XXXX. Really? Hoping that you can intervene on my behalf. Many Thanks, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NH XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a preorder for a pair of size XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that will be available in limited quantities towards the end of this year. I purchased them for {$280.00} and used PayPal as my payment. The person I ordered the shoes from was operating a huge Ponzi scheme and scammed people out of millions of dollars. I ordered 1 pair of shoes in my size and ordered with the intention of wearing them. I filed a dispute with PayPal on XX/XX/XXXX to try to get a refund by using their protection. Consumer Complaint: My account was frozen on XX/XX/2022 and was told it would take up to 3 weeks to investigate why it was frozen. I was given no information at all but my funds were frozen. I was told my request was escalated to receive a faster response but no response at all. My husband 's account was also frozen. Last week I called for further detail and was told it is still with their investigative team, but I could not get any further info or speak with their team. I escalated as far as I could but they make it impossible to contact them. After 3.5 week, I tried again today only to be told I have to wait indefinitely for a response, even after being escalated to a supervisor. They would not escalate further and I was told to wait indefinitely for a response. Venmo is currently holding my money and my husband 's money for almost a month with no explanation at all.

Consumer Complaint: Venmo Money App is a large financial app that takes money and allows payment or to receive payment. Lately they have been freezing accounts for several weeks for no reason leaving the user stuck unable to access funds or make transactions. A user cant make payments or receive payments from work or other transactions for several weeks. Its happened to me and is going on right now. I dont think a financial institution should be able to manage money if they dont have staff to run it properly. Right now my account is frozen for no reason and its been weeks and nobody knows why. My paycheck is being withheld until this problem is fixed. This is common. They shouldnt be allowed to operate in this manner, managing money, when they often freeze and hold money for weeks with no real way to fix it

Consumer Complaint: This complaint involves XXXX XXXX, a sneaker seller who was found to be a Ponzi scheme and is currently under FBI Investigation. All consumers who purchased from XXXX XXXX had to pay via PayPal. Once the merchant declared bankruptcy and was put into receivership, each of us had to file purchase protection claims with PayPal for non-delivery of goods. Although PayPal has a written policy of how they handle situations like this, they applied the policy haphazardly and selectively, which constitutes discrimination. I am part of a XXXX group of several thousand affected individuals which can provide ample testimony and photographic proof of these claims. Some people received refunds for charges made less than 180 days of their complaints, which are in accordance with PayPal XXXX XXXX policy. Others received refunds for purchases made greater than 180 days of their complaints, which is not consistent with PayPal policy. Many people, including myself, received a blanket decision denying our refunds, even though they were made in the specified time frame. Without any discussions with the affected individuals, PayPal decided to label everyone as a " reseller, '' which automatically denied their claims. As a member of the XXXX group, I have evidence of PayPal allowing refunds to actual resellers, while denying refunds to people after accusing and incorrectly labeling them as resellers. PayPal does not apply their policies to all users uniformly. This is duplicitous, immoral, and a violation of the trust given to them by the people who use their platform. Their policies constitute discrimination, which should be investigated and prosecuted on behalf of the American people.
