Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXXI did a standard transfer of {$490.00} through Venmo which I'm told is a Paypal subsidiary XXXX I was transferring my funds to my bank attached and verified by Venmo. When it didn't arrive in a couple of days I figured it was the XX/XX/XXXX weekend and banks were closed. On XX/XX/XXXX I immediately called Venmo customer service and they said they would look into it and get it handled. It was at this time I was told the funds were sent to some arbitrary bank that I never even heard of and it was nota verified account. I was told this should be resolved within 7-10 business days, weeks went by and I was told again that it accidently did not go to into priority resolution and it may take up to three weeks. I have e-mailed several times and called several more times only to get the same run around. XXXX & XXXX & XXXX & XXXX & XXXX XXXX. Since I didn't receive the item, I tried to contact the merchant thru phone and email support which are given on the website. But they never responded and the phone isn't a working number XXXX. I file a dispute with PayPal on XX/XX/XXXX but they asked me to contact the credit card company. I contacted the credit card company XXXX and they in turn contacted PayPal and didn't issue the refund due to the response from PayPal below 4. PayPal saying that the payment was made thru " Friends and Family '' which is not covered by PayPal and it's against their policy. I made the payment like any other merchant payment thru PayPal and I am not aware of the way merchant setup the payment with PayPal to sell their products. More over I didn't get any option to choose the other means of the payment. 5. This shows that PayPal is allowing merchant to setup the payment method as " Friends and Family '' option to sell their products and get the money from the customer and PayPal getting their commission if any. But telling to the customer as violation and not covering the Fraud/spam transaction. First of all PayPal has to prevent any such violations with the merchant. They are allowing merchant to setup the payment method but blaming the customer when customer has no option to choose at the time of payment 6. I tried to talk with PayPal many times and ask the above question but they are not answering and refused to refund my money

Company refuses to disclose reason or a timeline for resolution. {$700.00} rent payment from my roommate is locked in the account so I can not pay our rent. Multiple agents and supervisors will not disclose reason for freezing the account or allow me to speak to someone in the department that would know.
