Consumer Complaint: In response to complaint XXXX PayPal made explicit that 1. PayPal permits buyers to send business payments ( with payment protection ) without including a description 2. If a description is not included in a business payment, PayPal will resolve disputes ( even obviously fraudulent ones ) in favor of the buyer, without requiring any evidence. This creates an obvious problem where PayPal actively participates in enabling fraud to occur, facilitating payments for services that it then guarantees it will refund to the buyer.

That transaction posted to our account on XX/XX/XXXX I noticed on XX/XX/XXXX that our account available balance seem low when I used the ATM. We looked at our online banking on XX/XX/XXXX and there was a hold for an additional {$1500.00} from Venmo. That {$1500.00} posted to our account on XX/XX/XXXX, so we have been charged an additional {$1500.00}. We called Venmo on XX/XX/XXXX and the customer service person said that there was an issue and " the engineers were working on it ''. He said he was unable and unwilling to give us any additional information. It was very unhelpful. My wife called Venmo numerous times today ( XX/XX/XXXX ). After being on hold for 20-30 minutes she was told pretty much the same thing. They were working on the issue. Since that was completely unacceptable she spoke to a supervisor who said that this was an issue that affected numerous customers who made transfers on XX/XX/XXXX. She was helpful but could only say that they were hoping the money could be returned in a few days. My wife expressed her displeasure to the supervisor on the complete lack of communication from the company after Venmo made UNAUTHORIZED transactions from many accounts and did not let anyone know.

I understand the transaction was processed correctly from xoom, but I have not received any communication from the seller. This lack of response is terrifying, and I feel uneasy about the transaction. I am requesting a refund to address these uncertainties and ensure a satisfactory resolution. Consumer Complaint: I sent my mother {$330.00} on XX/XX/ via Venmo. The money came out of my bank on XX/XX/. Then on XX/XX/ Venmo removed a second {$330.00} with XXXX verification. Does not even show up on Venmo transaction history. I contacted the company and they told me it was an engineering glitch and that is all they would tell me. Acknowledging that the money was taken but no refund. And no timeline on when money will be refunded if at all. I am not the only person this happens to. They stole thousands soon thousands from people and will not give any answers besides it is an engineering glitch.

The two canvases were sold in deteriorated condition and falsely advertised as being in a frame. PayPal has not responded to my recent call or chat messages and has not provided me with seller 's evidence, which I have been trying to and have requested. Consumer Complaint: Paypal prominently advertises its purchase protection service for instances when a buyer does not receive the item for which they paid. On XX/XX/2023, I purchased a smart phone for {$800.00} from a private seller on the mobile phone XXXX XXXX, induced by Paypal 's purchase protection promises. When the seller 's shipping partner misdirected the package and the seller refused to provide a refund, I requested that Paypal make good on its purchase protection promise. However, in case # XXXXXXXX, after a cursory inquiry in which Paypal refused to review my evidence, Paypal summarily closed out the inquiry and refused to provide purchase protection on the basis that the seller had shipped the item ( which is true, but ignores the fact that the seller 's shipping vendor misdirected the package such that I never received it ). Specifically, I have documented correspondence directly with USPS Consumer Affairs confirming that USPS mistakenly misdirected the package and apologizing for the mistake.
