Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I had fraud on my venmo account. It was XXXX XXXX. I called Venmo and spoke to fraud team and they said to file a dispute of charges with them and they will get my money back. Dispute of charges filed with Venmo against XXXX XXXX A week later out of nowhere, Venmo closed my account without giving me any reason or warning. They refused my direct deposit and had it sent back to my employer who didn't receive confirmation for a week and my pay checks had to be mailed which took delays and was hurting real bad. Venmo then froze all my money in the checking account and said they might return my money depending on unknown factors they won't release. Upon reviewing this issue, Venmo always takes the money and forces the consumer to take action. I have lost hundreds of dollars in late fees and my Christmas was ruined because my funds were all over the place and missing due to this scam Venmo did one. I was following the fraud departments advice and I got punished for trust Venmo. They never respond to emails and can't call them at all. Want my money back plus more if possible due to all of the money I paid in late fees, my credit score dropped, plus so much more.

Consumer Complaint: I am being DENIED my legal right under MASTERCARD rules and regulations file a dispute on the following charges here are the Transaction ID 's : XXXX, XXXX, XXXX within the allotted 120 days. So to summarize, I am being barred from filing the transaction dispute in the resolution center so I am coming to CFPB ( Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ) to timely alert and file my dispute on these charges that do fall within the 120 day Mastercard window and also the 90 day window provided by law. " Regulation E mandates that provisional credit be offered within 10 days of a disputed charge and while offering a TIMELY PROVISIONAL CREDIT to account holders is crucial to improving customer experience, not all situations call for immediate provisional credit. ''

Despite being a responsible user who follows all the terms and conditions of PayPal, my account has been permanently limited without any prior warnings or notifications. As a new user, I was looking forward to utilizing PayPal for my online transactions and was excited to start using the platform. However, I received a notification that my account has been permanently limited, causing me inconvenience and distress. I have tried reaching out to PayPal 's support team to inquire about the reason for this limitation, but I have not received a clear or satisfactory answer. I am confident that I have not engaged in any activities that violate the terms of service of PayPal. I have always been careful to follow the guidelines set by the platform, and I have not experienced any issues with my account until now. I believe that my account has been limited in error, and I am eager to resolve this matter as soon as possible. I understand the importance of security measures, and I am more than willing to comply with any verification procedures that may be required. Consumer Complaint: I have held and account with PayPal for a number of years. My account was set up as a business account, because I was initially planning to start a business. That business never got off the ground. Therefore, I have never once used PayPal for a business transaction. I have used it as a payment utility, for internet security, and to transfer money between myself, family and friends. On XX/XX/XXXX, a friend who had come into some money, knew that I was having some financial difficulties, and offered a gift of {$10000.00}. I accepted. He asked how best to provide me with the funds, offering a check etc, but I suggested PayPal because they do not charge any fees for money transfers between friends and family. He tried repeatedly to make the transfer, but it wasn't working, so he offered a check instead, and I asked him to give it another try, and it finally went through. The following day, I found that PayPal had taken {$290.00}. And labeled the transaction a " purchase of goods or services. '' It was no such thing, and even though my account has clearly never once been used for business, they have refused to even consider my appeals. They have effectively robbed me. There was no credit or anything else other than the transfer that I have always been able to do without fees in the past. Not until there was a substantial sum of money passing through my account did they tack on an exorbitant fee. I needed every penny of that money, and would never have even considered using PayPal had I not believed it could be done at no charge. Thus far, my appeals have fallen on deaf ears. I hope that you can help.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I am encountering a problem with PayPal in which they are not providing me with any support. My account was lifted on XX/XX/XXXX after they acknowledged that the previous ban was made in error. However, shortly after receiving payment for my photo editing work, my account was banned once again on XX/XX/XXXX. I have attempted to reach out to the Escalations Team member who previously lifted my ban, XXXX, but I have only received responses from customer support that provide " default reply templates '' indicating that the decision is final. I am unsure how their algorithm works, but it appears to be incorrectly flagging my account. I have been working hard and engaging in decent online jobs and have no disputes or gambling-related activities on my account. I have always been in compliance with their terms and conditions. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer in resolving this matter and I look forward to hearing back from you soon. I am hopeful that XXXX from the Escalations Team will be able to assist me once again, as he was the only one who took the time to re-evaluate my account before. I am respectfully requesting that they re-evaluate their decision and lift the ban on my account. I believe that there may be a mistake in their algorithm. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: PayPal has had a hold on a {$600.00} payment to me for over a month. The payment was made on XX/XX/2023, the account name is XXXX XXXX XXXX. I run a small, seasonal, business taking photographs of motorcycle racing here in Utah and have done so for over 10 years. Many of my clients pay in advance for their photos, sometimes as early as XXXX. I have had a PayPal account for over 20 years and have made transactions for over {$600000.00} in that time, mostly for XXXX sales. I am not new to them. This is the fifth straight year that the person who made the {$600.00} payment has done so, there is nothing new about him, either. Contacting PayPal ( multiple times ) about this issue has not resulted in any resolution, all that they will say is that they hold funds at their discretion and won't tell why this transaction is being held or when it will be released.

Consumer Complaint: Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening On XX/XX/XXXX, my mother send me money threw paypal so I can pay the rent. Note : I am already late on rent and if it gets passed the XXXX I could face the landlord kicking My XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX son and me out. However I have the money in my account and everything should be good. Nope, paypal is holding my money without any strikes on my account. I called them on the XXXX of XXXX to explain to them my problem and the operator said to me, because you attempted to transfer this money a lot of times your account has been locked and you are unable to send money to any account. Mind you the money they are holding is {$1200.00}. They told me {$640.00} is available for me to use however as you know that was a lie. They told me to wait 24/48 hours to attempt again. Which I have the patience to do. So I waited 24 hours to call back. I called them back after 24 hours and they told me the same things 24 hours ago. My account is locked and to wait another 24 hours. So I waited another 24 hours and today is the XXXX of XXXX. I called before making any transaction so I don't risk my account being locked again for another 48 hours. The first time I called she told me you should be able to send money now since it has been the time frame, and told her mama I am unable to send money to my account at all. At this moment it is giving me an error code on the screen to try again later. She then processes to tell me " I have to wait another 48 hours for my account to unlocked ''. I just flipped at that point, because I already waited 48 hours the one time and now you are tell me to wait another 48 hours for something that I need ASAP. I process to tell her to get a manger. Mind you my account does not have any history of charge back, fraud, or anything of that nature with money. The manger gets on the phone after 30 minutes, and tells me you are able to send money now. Now when a manger tells you something you would think it is true and I got off the phone thanking him for helping me out. I get on my paypal account to attempt to send {$640.00} to my bank account, however I get that same error code. At this moment I am upset and I called them back. I get a manger on the phone for the second time and he told me this in his exact words. '' PayPal does not feel comfortable sending your money out '' I asked him why do they not feel comfortable sending my money out and my account is in good standing and he could not answer the question. All he told me to do is wait 24 hours to try again.
