Consumer Complaint: I am writing this complaint towards Paypal which permanently limited my account and being accused of selling of unapproved file sharing services. Resulting to my account has been permanently limited and won't be able to conduct any further business with Paypal. Bank XXXX linked can not be removed and my account balance will be on hold for 180 days. I was able to comply with the action that they would like me to do including sending tracking information which is inappropriate for virtual goods/services for my business. Consumer Complaint: I have been a loyal customer of PayPal for several years and have never faced any issues until now. My account has always been in good standing and I have never engaged in any fraudulent or unethical activities. Despite this, my account was suddenly restricted and my funds were blocked for 180 days, which is unacceptable. The restriction and block was imposed on XX/XX/2023, and has caused immense inconvenience to my business operations. I have provided all the necessary documents and information to PayPal to prove the legality and authenticity of my business transactions. These include purchase invoices, shipping label, and tracking numbers with verifiable delivery within 5 days. However, despite providing this evidence, my account remains restricted and my funds are still blocked. I strongly believe that this restriction and block is unjustified and constitutes a violation of my rights as a customer. My account is not a high-risk account as I have fulfilled all tracking requests, delivered all products to my customers, and have a very high customer satisfaction rate. I request that you investigate this matter and help me resolve this issue as soon as possible. I also request that you assist me in lifting the temporary restriction and funds block on my account, so I can resume normal business operations.

I had a item on XXXX XXXX place for {$700.00}, the scammer pretending to be a buyer send a offer to buy and used said to use a XXXX The scam was he said had to pay {$1100.00} and I had to return {$400.00} back. He used fake email XXXX account, I sent him XXXX on through my zelle and had a problem than I ask to send it through PayPal Friends and family. I sent him {$400.00} through PayPal. I have reported to PayPal that I have been scammed. PayPal is siding with the scammer/buyer that there is nothing wrong with this transaction. Date incident occurred XX/XX/2023. Consumer Complaint: I paid my neighbor {$18.00} through Venmo for eggs on XX/XX/23. They received {$17.00}. When making the payment I clicked a toggle button I thought was to turn on paying for the eggs with my Venmo balance based on the " Turn on for purchases '' below the payment method with a toggle switch next to it. The toggle button was in fact to turn on purchase protection. I contacted Venmo with my concerns that this toggle button 's placement was misleading to customers and likely resulted in people paying a fee when they were not aware that they were doing so. Venmo credited my neighbor for the deduction but stood by it's assertion that the button was clear and not misleading. I reiterated my position three times requesting they address the issue as I felt it was misleading. They replied that it was not and was clearly labeled.

Consumer Complaint: I transferred money into my US Paypal account on XXXX of XX/XX/2023 in the amount of {$9700.00}, where it was immediately put on hold by Paypal. They mentioned that this is a " Tax ID Hold '', and if I did not provide any form of US Tax ID, they would take 24 % of the amount and send it to the IRS as withholding tax. I was immediately unable to use any of the funds. Given that I opened this account while I was a student in the XXXX, I'm not a US tax payer, nor do I have an ITIN or SSN that could fulfill this Tax ID requirement from Paypal. I'm from XXXX and I pay tax in XXXX. Having shared this information with them, including a filled IRS XXXX indicating that I am not a US tax payer and as such, the funds should not be taxed or held, Paypal proceeded to limit my account and prevented me from withdrawing any of my funds. Further communications with Paypal representatives were not helpful as no one could acknowledged the specific tax issue I had, and instead shared generics about why the account was limited, and there were no guarantees given by Paypal that they wouldn't send 24 % of the funds as withholding tax. In addition, now that they have limited my account, they are withholding my funds for 180 days without any justification. The Paypal case reference is XXXX.
