Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: This happened last year but im just finding out I can submit a complaint. I purchased a sneaker from a company called XXXX XXXX. They would do pre-orders on shoes. Ive been using them for quite some time but we found out they were running a scam and the owner fled the country after a warrent. This left thousands of customers without money. I disputed with both Paypal and my credit card company XXXX Paypal claims that im a " reseller ''. They started marking everyone as a reseller so they didnt have to pay people back. anyone who knows me knows I'm someone who buys shoes to wear. If I was a reseller i wouldve purcahsed multiple pairs and not one. Sadly paypal told me if I dispute with my credit card company they cant help me. After waiting 5 months for a resolution, They denied me as a reseller. I went to my credit card company after but they said they cant disput anything after 180 days so I was left without {$220.00}. It wasnt much, but I paid for an item i didnt get and neither paypal or my credit card backed me. Paypal claims to back its users but this was not the case.

Consumer Complaint: The PayPal user XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) scammed me via two transactions ( Transaction IDs XXXX and XXXX ) for {$89.00} in total on XX/XX/2022. They promised me 2 concert tickets in return during our conversation on XXXX, which I never received. As soon as I paid via PayPal using my XXXX checking account, they blocked me or deleted their XXXX account. The money will not reach their account until XX/XX/XXXX, and I would like my money back before then. I have filed a dispute with PayPal and would be extremely grateful for any assistance you can provide. I hope a conclusion can be reached and I look forward to hearing from you.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23, Paypal unexpectedly permanently and without warning, limited my account. When I login to my account, I see the message attached. I called PayPal regarding this, and they said theycould not share any more information about why this had taken place, and this decision was irreversible, and permanent. They claim the decision was based on risk but provided no other explanation. I have {$850.00} in my PayPal balance. PayPal says they will not release this {$850.00} for 180 days. I would like my PayPal account reinstated, since this decision was taken arbitrarily, withoutbasis and explanation. I have been a PayPal customer for over 10 years and have never had any issues or warnings regarding my usage of the service. Additionally, I would like my {$850.00} immediately made available to me. There is no legitimatereason to lock my funds up for 180 days.

Consumer Complaint: I placed an order with XXXX. I authorized them to charge my PayPal {$3.00}. The remaining amount of the order was authorized to be paid with SNAP benefits ( everything qualified for EBT except one item that was $ XXXX which totaled to {$3.00} ). I entered my EBT pin on the website as usual and immediately got confirmation of the order, as it always does. Later, I learned that XXXX charged the entire order ( {$210.00} ) to my PayPal account which only had {$10.00} in it so they tried to charge my bank account for {$200.00}. My bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Ca ) has denied the charge, but charged me an overdraft fee of {$31.00}. Paypal is now asking for me to pay them {$200.00} and is sitting with a negative balance. I never authorized the amount charged to begin with and I definitely didn't authorize PayPal to carry a balance like a credit card. They should have denied it due to lack of funds to begin with. There wasn't enough money in any account of mine to cover a {$210.00} charge. Hence why I was using my SNAP benefits for food. I contacted XXXX multiple times. 2 reps said they would refund my money as it was a glitch in their system that made the mistake and charged the wrong payment method, but they never did and i never received the confirmation email about it as they said i would. I filed a claim with PayPal but they denied my claim stating it wasn't a billing issue and are now demanding I pay them the remaining balance {$200.00}. I never authorized that amount, I never authorized them to carry a balance, i have been charged a fee from my bank that is not my fault. I don't know where else to turn. I'm low income and budgeting isn't easy, but I manage. I can't manage or afford to pay for something I didn't authorize to begin with. I don't understand why it wasn't just denied since the funds weren't there. I can't understand why PayPal won't issue a refund because the charge was never authorized. XXXX has admitted the mistake was due to a glitch in there system but won't refund the amount taken. They said to contact PayPal. I contacted PayPal and they said to contact XXXX. I don't know where else to turn.

Consumer Complaint: Starting in XX/XX/2022 of last year, someone had been making fraudulent orders on my XXXX Contacts account. Apparently XXXX Contacts did not verify that it was me because the person ordering contacts lives in California. I have never lived in California. I told them that I did make these transactions. They told me that I needed to go through Paypal to get my money back, which I found to be strange when Paypal always tell the customer to settle it with the merchant first. So when I tried to dispute it with Paypal, they immediately closed my case because I have ordered contact from XXXX Contacts in the past, which again does not make sense. Ordering contacts in the past does not give the company the right to charge my account by someone other than me. There a total of 5 unauthorized charges on my account and I am requesting a refund of all of my money. Please see the unauthorized charges below. XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX {$180.00} XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX {$330.00} XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX {$350.00} XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX {$350.00} XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX {$350.00}

Consumer Complaint: I started a purchase on Paypal and tried to cancel it, as I became concerned that the site was fraudulent. Even though I tried to cancel, it went through. I tried to contact the seller with no success. I did not receive an invoice or receipt showing that I had actually ordered my item, but the money was set to come out anyway. I contacted Paypal and informed them immediately so they could stop the transaction but they said they had to wait XXXXdays. I then submitted a dispute and they said it could be up to XX/XX/XXXX before I would have an answer. I just checked recently and found out they immediately closed the dispute saying the money was paid to the seller. I am no longer able to open this claim or ask for it to be reopened. I tried clicking on the message seller button and it says " you're unable to send this user a message ''. This user is a scammer and they took the money but didn't send anything. Paypal didn't even give me a chance to really dispute it before saying the seller got the money as requested and closing the case.
