And then was asked to submit documents, which were my bank statement, proof of address and ID or passport submitted. Then I received a message saying that they had to send the review to the back office team for further review then on XXXX XXXX they told me my account was permanently limited and I was no longer to use PayPal and I could not use my balance for 180 days because they needed to put it on hold in case of charge back or anything like that on the account. The only issue is I dont use that account to sell anything. Im not a seller Im not a business account. I have literally two transactions on there one being a purchase on the Internet and the second is {$100.00} sent to me friends and family from somebody I know. Then they wont tell me the reason because they cant even see the reason why I am not allowed to use PayPal and how is it OK for them to just decide that theyre going to keep my money for 180 days I dont know about that but I need all the money I can get and thats my money and I dont know how they can keep it for that long as a long time if you ask me and so theyre pretty a big me if you ask me. I could see them holding it in fear of a chargeback or anything like that if I was using it as a business account or as a seller account but that is my own personal PayPal like I said Ive done two transactions total on that PayPal its not gon na get charged back I promise you that because one its my friend and two its pretty impossible with PayPal to charge back a transaction set with friends and family, unless they issue with their bank but like I said its my friend hes not gon na do that and its not their money, so why can they hold it and just sit there and collect interest on it because thats what I heard they do and why they hold money all the time and do whatever they think they want Anyways, I need to withdraw my money now its my money I need it I dont care what they say even really they need to give me my money or I will go further with legal action even if its only XXXX bucks its just not right to do to somebody for no reason

Consumer Complaint: I got scammed by a person posing as XXXX customer service and said they were processing my refund. I called a phone number that came up as XXXX support a looked legitimate. They screen shared and accessed my Venmo account to do some weird transactions through bitcoin. I hen I realized what was going on I hung up and they called back and tried to get information. I hung up and called my bank and froze my accounts. I have since received emails from Venmo saying I owe them money. Some seem like scams while others are legitimate. I called Venmo and they said I have a negative balance with them and the only way I can clear it is to give them my new bank account information. I refuse to give them any financial information as they are not a secure site and I had to close accounts Ive had for decades. I offered a cashiers check and they say the only way I can pay them ( I dont believe I owe them any money ) is by linking my new bank account or getting someone else to fill my Venmo account. Neither of those seem legitimate.

Consumer Complaint: My fianc is traveling for work and sent me money ( 5 transactions ) in the last week for household and miscellaneous expenses. PayPal flagged the transactions. He provided an explanation on his account. They suspended my account for " suspicious activity ''. I called and spoke to their representative to clarify the matter. I explained what the money is for and they stated it would take 5 days to review. I stated that is unacceptable. They requested I provide a picture id and a bank statement and explanation of every transaction. I already provided the explanation for the transactions by phone. I stated I don't feel comfortable submitting my picture id as they already have my social security number ( additionally they are refusing to state why the account is suspended, but are requesting very personal and sensitive information ). I stated this is not a business account and I should not have to provide my bank statements to receive money for a personal transaction. I requested my account to be closed and they are refusing to do so because my account is " permanently suspended ''. They will not provide a reason for the permanent suspension. They will only communicate through their message system which doesn't allow me to send their communication or take a screenshot as proof of their reply.
