Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, I locked my card because I did not want anyone to use it. I kept the card locked and ordered a new card. I received the new card in the mail and wasn't able to activate it. I called customer service and they said my account was frozen ( XXXX ) XXXX and ( XXXX ) XXXX. It has been over 7 days and they still won't let me activate my funds. I need my money to eat immediately. If I can't activate the card that they gave me, they should reissue a working card. This is an emergency that I have access to my funds.If they have no available debit cards, they should expedite an issue me a Check for the remaining balance {$370.00}

Consumer Complaint: I saw a hot tub on XXXX XXXX XXXX. I chatted with the seller. I decided to take a look at it. The seller requested a {$500.00} hold for the item because they " had several people wanting to look for it. '' They requested a payment through PayPal through a Friend Account to transfer the money. I fell for it and paid the money using my XXXX Credit Card to put a hold on the hot tub. As soon as I submitted the money, I could tell it was fishy because the name of the seller ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) was different than who I was chatting with ( XXXX XXXX ). Plus, the person on the other end kept erasing their conversation. Luckily, I took a screenshot of the product. I immediately got a hold of PayPal. Even though this is a common scam, they would not put a hold on the money. I filed a complaint with XXXX XXXX ( Case ID : XXXX ) but received a letter notifying me that because I used the " Friend and Family '' option, I am responsible for the loss.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a Venmo account a year ago and just used it for the first time a week ago. I was sent {$600.00} dollars. I linked my bank account to the Venmo account and went through the 24 hour confirmation period. Once I tried to transfer the {$610.00} ( there was a {$10.00} promo credit in the account ) they immediately froze my account. They would not tell me why. I emailed customer service and was told someone would email me in 5-7 business days. That is unacceptable as they are holding the funds. I called three business days later and was told again someone would have to reach out to me, but it has been expedited. I am now on the sixth day since the funds were put in my account with any explanation as to why my account and funds have been put on hold. I view this as fraud on the part of Venmo.
