Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I reported to Venmo that an account was open in my name fraudulently and never heard back from the customer service rep I spoke with. After the account was opened up XXXX more accounts were opened up in my name fraudulently as well which were reported to the FTC and Venmo. These accounts were not fine and I need to know how and why they were opened without my approve. I never agreed to open them nor did I sign any agreement with Venmo. I opened my first account with Venmo in late XXXX which should be the only account for me. Any transactions that were made from the prior XXXX accounts I reported were not made by me.

I also called pay pal and let them know of the situacin because there was unauthorized transactions and they still do not allow me to close the account. The persn opened an account using my data but never received the card because they changed my address. They want me to be responsable when I let them know about the issue and they didnt closed the account as they asked. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for a loan through PayPal 's " Pay Monthly '' service for about {$420.00}. I was denied and the reason I was given for the denial was due to missing information about my credit score or history. The issue is I have applied for six different loans through this service and was approved without any issues. In fact some of the loans that I got approved for exceeded the amount I was applying for. When contacting PayPal 's customer support over this issue they basically say they can't fix it because their systems do a random background check. When asked if paying off any of the preexisting loans would help the process they simply give you a non answer. Additionally, PayPal 's application process says that this service can affect your credit score or history, but none of the credit bureaus that I have contacted have this information and they don't have any information regarding my on time payments for these loans.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, I tried to make a transaction with my Venmo account. Venmo locked my account for no reason. I tried reaching out to them immediately to let them know that the transaction was valid and there was no fraud, but they refused to unlock my account without proof of ID. I explained may times that I did not feel comfortable sending them the required self photo of myself holding my drivers license or passport due to security/privacy concerns. I did eventually upload a selfie, holding my drivers license but covered my DL # for protection. Venmo has refused to use that but also refused to tell me what specific information they need ( i.e. name, address, etc ). I can not imagine that the DL # is necessary as it wasn't necessary to open the Venmo account. It has been 8 months at this point of emails ( they will not discuss this on the phone ) and I still can not have my account unlocked or closed at this point.

Consumer Complaint: Venmo will not release my funds or authenticate my identity. They have my passport, drivers license, and NY state employee paystub and refuse to address the problem. My driver 's license does not have my street address on it because no mail goes to my house- as in most rural places. Venmo won't provide what legal statute they rely on to discriminate against people based on where they live and keep their money. Today 's made up drama from the venmo team is they can't read my documents. But won't say what they can't read. If there software is not good enough to relay an iphone picture to be reviewed by their staff - a picture of someone's personal identifying information how could they possibly have the cybersecurity to prevent hacking and keep people 's information safe.
