Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: Great Day I launched a dispute with all credit bureaus for the last 60 days about my closed Navient account trying to understanding all the inaccurate information that has been placed on my credit report. According to : XXXX : my account was opened XX/XX/XXXX closed XX/XX/XXXX i was reported 120 days past due, but all the previous months is showing paid as agreed ok. there was no indication of 30 days, 60 days, 90 days noted on another report it indicated i was 90 days past due XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX XXXX : my account was opened XX/XX/XXXX closed XX/XX/XXXX i was reported XXXX past due with no indication the previous month of a 30, 60, 90 days late pay and on the report it indicated i was 90 days past due XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX : my account was open XX/XX/XXXX closed ( nothing reported as if its still open ) this particular report indicated that i was 180 days past due and again on the report the previous month indicated ok paying as agreed. and only show a XXXX past due XX/XX/XXXX All Disputes I have reported replied back to me accurate and nothing changed on my report nor was there an explanation. When I call Navient there was a discrepancy in what she explained and what has been reported on the late pays. I noted that my students loans appear to change hands often and by the time information is reported to me and payment information is determined I am thinking this is where the discrepancies are happening. to much selling of loans and not notifying the consumer sooner would eliminate this kind of frustration.

Consumer Complaint: I have three ( 3 ) FFEL loans owned by Navient, all originated in XXXX. A few problems, here. 1. Why was I never notified about the multi-state settlement with Navient? Wouldn't Navient be required to notify me of the finding against them -- as their borrower -- as of this past XXXX ( XXXX )? Do I need to consolidate my loan to a Direct Loan to receive the settlement? Again, they are all currently owned by Navient. 2. All three of my loans were originated in XXXX. Aren't they eligible for being forgiven after 20 years from the origination? 3. If I consolidate to the Direct Loan ( as mentioned above ), would my student loans then be forgiven -- having been placed BACK with the Dept of Education? My loans were originally federal loans. Navient purchased them, after I consolidated, as directed, to be eligible for IDR. 4. I sure would like to be done with Navient ( formerly known as Sallie Mae ).

Consumer Complaint: I, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I have tried to reason with Navient Re :, a private school loan that should have been considered for the original Navient lawsuit. However, my loan was never considered, nor did I ever receive any type of correspondence regarding the same. According to the information notated in the lawsuit, my loan did and still does meet the requirements of the original judgment. The aforementioned private loan is in default and was charged off/closed via Bankruptcy Court in XXXX. Yet, the loan continues to be updated on my credit report every month as if it is a current loan that is in collections. This prevents me from being considered for housing due to ongoing negative activity. It continues to update my credit report each month. I attempted to reach the credit department for Navient to seek assistance with my credit report without success. I never heard from them. I have recently been corresponding with a XXXX XXXX via email and phone conversation to date. I was informed by XXXX XXXX that my XXXX score was too high at the time of the loan. How is that? My XXXX XXXX was not in good standing, much less having a decent XXXX XXXX. However, she did not come up with a solution for my issue. I also mentioned to her that I had applied for consideration for XXXX, and that was rejected as well. She informed me that I had applied with the wrong website and that she was sending me the correct information which I never received or it was never sent. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Consumer Complaint: Navient is my loan servicer. I have federal loans from XXXX that were converted into FFELP loans with Navient. Although I work in higher education, and therefore am eligible for both the one-time {$10000.00} relief and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program , Navient both threatened debt collections to continue collecting loan payments during the federal moratorium on loan payments and failed to ask or inform me if I work in a PSLF field when they uniformly told me my loan was not eligible for the one-time Biden forgiveness plan. In fact, because I work in a PSLF field, my loan is eligible. Navient therefore lied to me about my eligibility in the federal program in order to continue receiving payments from me.

Consumer Complaint: I've consolidated my Navient owned loans with XXXX XXXX. The process was deemed completed on XX/XX/XXXX. Navient says that I have a payment due on XX/XX/XXXX and each representative has given me conflicting information. The first said there was no record of a consolidation the second said there was record transfer information on XX/XX/XXXX, but that I still had to make payments to Navient or my account would be delinquent. There was a lot of conflicting information from each person I spoke with and I had to call back several times because I was disconnected. There are now two loan balances from both XXXX XXXX and Navient in different amounts.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, I have been feeling disturbed with the total loan debt I owe with Navient. It is currently over XXXX! It does not make sense. I was always encouraged to apply for Forbearance, and that led to more increasing in interests which added to the loan. I previously asked for lower payments like XXXX XXXX per month. They did not go any lower to the amount I wanted but stayed at higher amount. I gave up and got pulled into Forbearance too often. This situation is causing me to be drown in heavier debts and that may look like it is impossible to pay off. It probably will be paid off at the time of my death. I still do not believe the amount of the loan to be correct. Something is off.

Consumer Complaint: In 2019, I received ( what I now understand to be a predatory ) marketing email from NaviRefi offering to lower my monthly payments. My government student loans at the time were being serviced by Navient. I assumed this was the same company and that I was simply adjusting my payments down during a difficult financial period for my family. Two years went by with me making monthly payments. Each tax season I would receive ONE student loan tax form to submit with my taxes from NAVIENT - again reinforcing my belief that these loans were still in the federal program. I have been working as a school teacher for 20 years. I remained hopeful that one day I would make enough payments for loan forgiveness ( yet each time I had applied for Teacher loan forgiveness there was yet another hurdle to jump through and the process became exhausting. ) I had no reason to move my loans out of the secure government servicer program. They had remained IN the federal program for 20 years as I made regular monthly payments. When Biden announced the Temporary PSLF program, I applied and was told I had to consolidate my eligible loans. I was shocked to learn that my loans had been moved to a private program within the same company that serviced my federally secured student loans. I complained immediately and relentlessly. NaviRefi said that I signed a document acknowledging I would lose all federal privileges. Not only do I have no recollection of doing so, according to their own documentation - I spent less than 4 minutes signing their disclosure form. Two of my smaller loans have been canceled through the XXXX program- yet I was scammed out of student loan debt relief by the very servicer the government authorised to service my loans. When this site requests the name of the company to file the complaint against there is no NaviRefi but several iterations of Navient. How am I supposed to know which one? ( Screen shot attached )
