Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: Navient was my student loan servicer and provided me with wrong and misleading loan information while steering me into accepting a loan forbearance which has harmed my economic interests. NAVIENT and as well as XXXX are criminal organizations that are actively harming millions of Americans like myself. As a result of accepting the forbearance due to Navients intentional bad information, I am now foreclosed from participating in several opportunities to pay down this debt. Please help. Thank you. Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I called Navient today trying to get my payments reduced. They only offered me an " interest only '' option of {$160.00} or a standard repayment of {$220.00}. At the end, they also offered to refinance my loan through another company. I've been paying on this loan for YEARS and still have many years to go. I feel as if I am being taken advantage for a loan I've had since XXXX. The payments are too high for me and navient is unwilling to offer affordable options. My original loan is {$10000.00} and my current balance is ~ {$20000.00}. The interest on the loan each month is {$160.00}. I am just a XXXX XXXX XXXX with a XXXX XXXX XXXX child and husband trying to do the best I can. This company is ruthless, heartless, and selfish.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I and my wife consolidated our federal student loans together. Over the years various companies managed our consolidated loans. We currently have Navient as our provider. Navient keeps lowering my monthly payments, ( once by {$130.00} USD / XX/XX/XXXX ), without our authorization. I've requested them not to change our monthly payment amount and they lowered the amount again and are refusing to keep my monthly payment the same. Navient changed, ( XX/XX/XXXX ), our monthly payment and increased the length of the loan and interest amounts. Navient has refused to send me an amortization table for my loan. I feel that Navient is purposefully extending out student loans to maximize their profit.

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I currently have XXXX Student Signature Loans with Navient that are active and I am paying on them. However, I also have XXXX ( XXXX ) Sallie Mae Student Answer Loans that for the reasons described below are closed and non-collectible at this time. However, I received a letter from XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, OH XXXX stating that they are now collecting on XXXX of the closed and uncollectible loans XXXX with a balance of {$6600.00} and the second just over {$2000.00}. The description of the complaint below has been pulled from a letter I sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX via Certified Mail on XX/XX/XXXX. First as these XXXX loans were solicited to me directly, paid into my account directly, disbursed well into the semesters, not disbursed through the institutions Financial Aid office, and above and beyond the cost of attendance, the loans are deemed unqualified and included in my XXXX XXXX XXXX Bankruptcy. This fact even reflects on my credit report as do all other debts discharged at that time. For this reason a credit report adjustment is not necessary as these loans are not reflected on my current credit report as active loans. This information was communicated to Navient in XXXX. Moreover, the fact that these loans are dischargeable in bankruptcy has been upheld in several court cases in recent years stating that Sallie Mae 's Tuition Answer Loans were predatory and failed to reach the requirements to be considered a qualified private student loan. Second, in the event that these loans were not discharged ( they were in fact discharged ) the time to collect on these loans has past. The XXXX accounts placed with XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX by Navient are Time barred per Florida Statute of Limitations. As the last payment on the Navient 's own system shows that the last payment was more than XXXX years ago. Even using the time period of 270 days after the last payment to deem the account in default, the time lapse is still more than XXXX years ago as of today 's date. Third, the last payment on these loan were XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. Yet Navient arbitrarily and dishonestly provided XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX the date of XX/XX/XXXX as the last transaction date which is in violation of XXXX, FDCPA, and potentially FCRA rules. As stated above there are several loans which were not discharged. Because of this I frequently access the company 's Website. Until recently the loans in question appeared on their system as dormant. However, in the span of XXXX or XXXX weeks the last payment date was arbitrarily changed to XX/XX/XXXX, even though the company 's own ledger contradicts this. Navient knows that these loans were discharged in bankruptcy and there is no contesting this fact. Navient apparently has decided that after XXXX year that they are not going to acknowledge the legality of their loan status. As they are fully aware of the state 's XXXX they took it upon themselves to arbitrarily chose a date inside the COL timeline which violates several collection and collection litigation regulations. If this matter is not settled in a civilized manner I will take it upon myself to counter sue. This information has been reviewed and ready to move forward against Navient and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX should they neglect to act upon the information I provided to them. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: Today I called navient my loan serviSer. I want to take advantage of the care act and get some of the money i pay to navient during the pandemic. They told me that my federal student loan are not covered under the care act because they own my loan. I asked them how is possible because I never received any notice telling them that my federal student loan was sold to navient. I only know that they are just the servicer of my loan. They told that now I am not even qualified for the student loan forgiveness. I am very confused now. They told me the only to get my loan under the federal government is to consolidate them. I know for a fact my federal student loans were consolidated when navient was sally Mae. I really dont know what is going on here. I have always my federal loan on time how come now I cant take advantage of the care act law now.

Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged
Consumer Complaint: Issue # 1. Navient is charging illegal fees to me during the XXXX discharge process. This obviously needs to be stopped. # 2. Navient needs to be aware that XXXX may be reporting my last name incorrectly, and they need to communicate directly with XXXX to insure my application is being processed correctly and expediently. Including reading the attached complaint regarding my issues with XXXX so they can take action on their own to resolve issues with communication and potential clerical errors directly with the source. I have severe mental illness. My spouse is helping me. The form for authorization is attached. It's harming my health to have such issues with these servicers. The stress is causing a list of symptoms. I need help. They arent listening to my spouse either. Issue # 1. Got a notice from XXXX ( who obtained some but not all of my loans from Navient ) that my application for XXXX discharge is being delayed by XXXX because they spelled my name incorrectly. They wont communicate directly with XXXX, they said I have to. We tried, and XXXX refused to investigate the issue or it appears even to read our concerns and sent an auto generated message signed as if a human read and responded when they did not. We tried to remedy this issue three different ways before coming back here to utilize the CFPB complaint portal, yet again, for unethical customer service practices of the student loan servicers. Issue # 2. Navient is trying to charge me for my loans and saying I have payments due even though they have been notified of the XXXX discharge process which is in direct violation of federal legislation. Note : The customer service reps that have responded to these complaints in the past are not allowed to handle my file any longer, they have a conflict of interest because they are a part of the problem and I have direct previous complaints against them on an individual basis. See screenshot for evidence of Navient charging fees illegally. I have years of history of discrimination by the student loan servicers and US Dept Ed as a XXXX female, and this is my final attempt at resolution to preserve my health conditions from worsening before I officially secure a Federal Civil Rights Attorney. I am serious. This treatment needs to stop. I more than qualify for XXXX discharge and I will receive it, in a timely fashion, and the derogatory information about me and stone-walling will stop or I will file and win in federal court to force it to stop. My XXXX XXXX has reached out to XXXX multiple times, the XXXX branch of XXXX seeking help, and literally never even received a response. It is a disgrace.

Consumer Complaint: Company is Navient- it appears a student federal loan went from a Sallie Mae loan to a private loan loan with Navient , This occurred in XXXX. The first conversation I had with Navient or any lender was XXXX. I asked them to send all paperwork to me regarding this loan. None was ever received.Iin XXXX I made every loan payment and my verbal agreement with XXXX daughter XXXX was met. In XXXX of XXXX I got aggressive with Navient made many calls and sent letters. I finally received bre minimum pperwork. The first was the Sallie Mae Signture Loan application with a signture which was intended to be mine. The second was a payment sheet which showed every payment I made and thousands in fees called capitalization. In a phone call a worker advised me that it was noted that I was not to receive ny pperwork? I called from the fraud team to prove my signture. Consumer Complaint: Loan services representative spoke with me today XX/XX/22. Advised me that I have until XX/XX/22 to pay full amount of student loan in the amount of {$19000.00}. They advised me if not paid in full that they will submit my loan to their attorney to garnish my wages and sue me for the full amount. I feel this is an unreasonable amount of time to make this amount of money to be paided back in six months or less. This is the only option Navient student loan services is offering me to make payment arrangements. They have made it extremely difficult for me in the past to make payments and still are trying to make things hard for me now. I told them XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/22 thru XX/XX/22 and before that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX They are unreasonable and have unfair financial practices they never try to work with me at all. I asked them for written documents of repayment options they advised me that they could not give it to me at all.

Consumer Complaint: Good day. I called Navient and spoke to them and expressed my financial struggle. I also explained to them that I am going to apply for the Biden forgiveness loan. She explained to me that she didnt have information on that and I could call back for more information. I spoke to them a second time prior to credit reporting, and I am sure the call is recorded and I was not informed as a matter of fact misguided and misrepresented with the information. Now I am showing 90 days past due on all my student loan information without a true representation of my conversation with them.
