Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: The company lowered my monthly payment from {$290.00} to {$50.00}, thereby extended my repayment date by over XXXX years. I am XXXX months away from full repayment, and they want to add XXXX years and collect roughly an extra {$500.00} in interest! I did not request this. This is nefarious and a desperate way to collect more interest from someone about to pay them off.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I XXXX XXXX XXXX Navient ( XXXX of my student loan servicers ) to obtain their phone number so I could call and conduct some business. I told her I couldn't pay today ( XX/XX/XXXX ), but that I could pay in a week ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I proceeded to give her my debit card information, last XXXX digits of my social security number, parents name/number. Fast forward to today, XX/XX/XXXX and I just received a text message from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX saying the {$590.00} XXXX agreed to pay is going to " drafted '' from account on XX/XX/XXXX. Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Personal information incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I haven't moved in 15 years and own my condo. So last month Navient XXXX XXXX contacted me about payment due. Then they then stated the address they have on file is one I never lived at before!! Oddly I worked on that block over XXXX years ago. This is shocking and unbelievable they invented a new address and reported this misinformation to the credit bureaus! And Navient is refusing to correct this false information having a negative impact on my credit report.

Issue: Getting a loan

Subissue: Fraudulent loan

Consumer Complaint: Thank you for all your efforts to protect the rights and freedoms we share today, and I appreciate your time to review my concern. On XX/XX/2022, the court granted preliminary approval for federal loan cancellation and refunded payments for class members who applied for the Borrower Defense to Repayment. The class action lawsuit : XXXX XXXX XXXX, which is involving predatory and fraudulent for-profit colleges such as the one I attended ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , proves without a doubt that we have absolutely and massively scammed and ripped off for thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars per applicant. It's wonderful news hearing we have received preliminary approval, but we need to also take a look at the private loans borrowers have taken out to attend these scam schools. Many of us have even more debt in private loans than federal loans, and we are still expected to pay it despite overwhelming evidence of fraud, mishandlings, losing payment records, deceit and other criminal activity involving our loans and payments. We need to take action while this issue is in the spotlight, to have these private loans discharged in addition to the federal student loans. Loan balances through companies such as Navient, XXXX, XXXX XXXX and loan companies used for consolidation purposes should all be cancelled and refunded if those loans are taken out for a university on the list of fraudulent schools from the XXXX XXXX XXXX case XXXX I attended this school from XXXX XXXX XXXX My debt with Navient for a now known fraudulent school is 6 figures.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: All student loans are paid in full/zero balance. This includes DOE XXXX XXXX, Navient ( now XXXX ) and XXXX. The balances are reflected as paid in full/zero balance on the credit report, however, the accounts are still showing as delinquent and negatively impacting my credit score. XXXX informed me that the credit bureaus had been notified in XX/XX/2022 that all balances are paid in full/zero balance yet XXXX on XX/XX/2022 informed me that Navient ( now XXXX ) is still reporting as delinquent. I would like all delinquent accounts that are paid in full/zero balance to be removed from my credit report.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: I successfully discharged my XXXX XXXX XXXX with Navient in 2016 when I became permanently XXXX and diagnosed with a rare XXXX. I was unaware about the major differences in the discharge process from Federal to Private loans and was fortunate enough to have my co-signers continue making payments because I could not and now I have been granted XXXX due to blindness. I contacted Navient after receiving many types of billing statements and letters regarding one of the XXXX currently active being past due because my co-signer has had significant financial setbacks due to XXXX and can not afford to pay them. I submitted my proof of XXXX award letter from Social Security and was told that if I made a {$50.00} payment on the past due account it would place a forbearance on the account for a year I was also informed that it would no longer reflect it being past due even though it never showed an amount due other than XXXX.and my credit would recover from the massive hit it took when Navient started reporting it as past due. To my knowledge that has no happened. When I go to my account information it still shows as past due I am told but that no payment is currently due. My other 2 loans appear to be in good standing and one has been in forbearance for some time. I was also emailed by Navient recently that my forbearance will be ending soon. but then another email states that a new forbearance was just started. They are well aware of my medical and XXXX issues yet they confuse me by not doing what they say they will in addition to requiring even more documentation which is difficult since I am homebound and XXXX XXXX XXXX presently. Why is the official award letter from Social Security not sufficient enough rather than having to request from my XXXX and very detailed report regarding my XXXX and one that costs money to do and that is providing information that XXXX might find to be a violation of my medical records to people unknown? I am also preparing a malpractice lawsuit against the doctors that have made me XXXX XXXX XXXX so it is questionable and uncomfortable to ask them to spend time filling out the details. I could discharge my Federal loans easier and faster than my private loans at a time when my life is in the balance and the stress over resolving these few loans have ruined my credit and caused me great XXXX and hardship. I will attach statements confirming my complaint for review.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged

Consumer Complaint: I cosigned a student loan for a friend in XX/XX/XXXX for {$27000.00}. Another in XX/XX/XXXX for {$27000.00}. Loans were for friend to attend XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I did receive a couple of calls from Navient early in the life of the loans ( maybe XXXX and XXXX ), but did not hear anything for years, was under the impression that all was being handled by the primary borrower. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a collection call from Navient informing me that the account was delinquent and now in my name only. I was completely unaware that the primary borrower was no longer the responsible party. Navient has been calling to ask me to now provide payments for a current balance of roughly {$93000.00}. I requested copies of the original contracts, as well as line item detail of the interest that has accrued on the loan to balloon it from {$54000.00} to {$93000.00}. I received the original agreements, but nothing detailing the balance increase. I will attach the loan history per my account login on the website. It is not much detail and extremely confusing. I do not know what was happening in the first few years of the loan with forebearance charges and such, I was not involved in any of that, communication was between Navient and the primary borrower. I am also not sure how interest was calculated since XXXX when I stopped receiving communication from Navient.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: Navient is my personal student loan lender. I am currently 6 payments behind total of late missed XXXX and total late balance of XXXX. I have made a call every month asking for flexibility and the representatives say the same thing " that my past due balance must be paid and my account current before they can offer any type of deferment. '' I don't have the money or I would pay it as I explain that every call. Navient calls my phone 6 or more times per day with different number as if to disguise who is calling it's biardering harassment. In the statement documents it even states " arrangements can be made to bring my account current with different repayment plans. '' When I ask about those plans the representatives say that same thing about me paying my past due first. Navient is not doing what is said in those letters and won't let me apply for any options until the past due is paid. I have had a troubled relationship with Navient with both my private loans and when my federal loans were serviced by them. I have had loans with them since XXXX yet my documents that are available for me to read only go back to XXXX. I just want to done with Navient as they are not honest and led me to deferment for years with my federal loans and now the interest has doubled my amount to {$100000.00} in total student loans debt. I feel hopeless in this situation as now they threaten with turning my account over to a lawyer for collection and to take legal actions. I don't have any options to work with them to resolve my account.
