Consumer Complaint: I received a call from " Pioneer Credit Recovery '' on XX/XX/2022 at XXXX XXXX where I missed a call. I received another call on the same day at XXXX XXXX and they asked for me by name then the agent told me that I owe {$560.00} and that they show this debt from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Services. I asked what the debt is for and he said that is the only information he can see. I let the agent know that there must be a mistake because I don't have any outstanding debts, then I asked to be put on the do not call list and hung up. Since then, I have had to block the number but my phone shows me when blocked numbers still call and they have called me 3 times a day for most days since. They have also sent me a letter with no further information about this " debt '' other than it went from me owing {$430.00} as of XX/XX/2022 and that I wasn't charged interest but somehow the " Total amount of the debt now : {$560.00} ''. So not only are they trying to say I owe from a branch of the government I have no affiliation with but they are also trying to tack on an amount for nothing? This is clearly a scam.

Consumer Complaint: I have a private student loan with Navient. I had been making monthly payments since I left school. Navient never postponed any payments even during the pandemic to help us get through difficult times. Navient has increased interest rates on the loan twice over the last XXXX months. When I called and asked about the interest rate increase, they told me I have signed a contract with a variable interest rate which I am not able to confirm.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I consolidated my student loans back in XXXX and my loan servicer is Navient. My beginning principal was {$190000.00} and I was informed my interest rate was fixed at 2.875 % for 30 years. I have been diligently paying my student loans having never missed a single payment. But I was informed this week that Navient has been incorrectly applying an interest rate of 3.125 %! This difference amounts to several tens of thousands of dollars in additional interest that I was erroneously charged that was never applied to my principal! I called customer service on XX/XX/XXXX and the representative XXXX said Navient has no intentions to do anything about this.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: I am currently on the interest only repayment plan. In XXXX, my payment increased to {$270.00}. XX/XX/XXXX : Call to Navient to extend the program and determine the new monthly payment due ( I needed a lower payment than {$270.00} ). The plan was extended, I submitted all financial information to the rep... .monthly income, expenses, etc. in order to get my payment as low as possible. Navient was unable to lower my payment as much as I needed, but offered me {$240.00} for XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. I made a payment of {$240.00} that day to " lock in the plan. '' In XXXX, my total payment due was still showing as {$270.00}. XX/XX/XXXX : Call to Navient to explain that my total due was incorrect, it was supposed to have been adjusted to {$240.00} and their records needed to be corrected. The rep stated " I do see your payment showing in the system as {$240.00} '' She explained she had to " fix this problem '' for " a lot '' of others. She told me the total due was adjusted, and she enrolled me in recurring payments of {$240.00} ( due on the XXXX of each month ) through XX/XX/XXXX. My XXXX payment was still showing a total due of {$270.00}, along with a past due amount of {$31.00}. It stated late fees XXXX apply and this amount was due immediately. XX/XX/XXXX : Call to Navient to explain the situation once again and request that my account be adjusted to reflect the CORRECT total due of {$240.00}. The rep stated that the {$31.00} was just " additional interest '' that needed paid " this XXXX time, just this month '' and that my account would be adjusted and I would not have this problem again. To ensure this was correct and to ensure that my account would be adjusted once and for all, I called back on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke to rep XXXX who stated that my total amount due was in fact {$270.00} and that I had a past due amount of {$31.00}. I explained this was incorrect, that THREE previous reps had confirmed my total monthly payment was {$240.00}. I requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me the same thing and refused to adjust my account. I requested to speak to another supervisor. Next, supervisor, XXXX gave me the same information and refused to correct my account. I requested to speak to another supervisor. Next, supervisor, XXXX gave me the same information and again refused to correct my account. I explained that I understood the discrepancy was due to rising interest rates, HOWEVER, Navient reps made a mistake on THREE previous occasions and assured me that my total payment due from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX would be {$240.00}. I explained I am not responsible for Navient 's mistakes - I can not afford it. Navient has a responsibility to uphold the agreement that was put in place on XX/XX/XXXX. I requested to speak to XXXX 's supreviroser. Very reluctantly, she reached out to him ( XXXX XXXX ). I was told he was unavailable, that I could not wait on hold for him ( as I requested ), and that the call would be terminated. She gave me XXXX 's direct line, she filed a complaint explaining my situation. I immediately called XXXX, he did not answer, I left a voicemail requesting a call back so he could help me resolve my issue.

Issue: Getting a loan
Subissue: Fraudulent loan
Consumer Complaint: I never took out this loan. I have been paying on it for years believing it was part of the federal loan, the digital master promissory note is dated two months before filled out by hand federal promissory note, and has vastly different references and other information. I was misled and defrauded by both Navient and Corinthian colleges at this point. Attached is a copy of the unsigned promissory note and the signed federal note. If you review the two one is signed and dated XX/XX/06 and is in pen and the other the one completed by someone other than me and is dated XX/XX/06 and is typed. Further more the private loan is two months before the federal loans, this doesnt make sense because I never even stepped foot on a XXXX college campus until XXXX. I have tried speaking with Navient but they refuse to acknowledge any misconduct or fraud. I receive several harassing phone calls from them weekly. I need this to stop.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Need information about your loan balance or loan terms
Consumer Complaint: We have noticed that the interest rate for the private loans keep increasing. I called Navient on XX/XX/2022 to obtain information as far as how high the interest rate will go. I was informed it could continue to go up as long as the government approves. Let me give some background information. I recall going to the financial aid office at XXXX University to question the interest rate since it was a much higher rate than other loans we had obtained. They informed us to look at the annual percentage rate on the truth in lending disclosure. In reviewing this information on our documentation, there is no indication as far as how high the interest could go which is what lead to my call to Navient. When I called on XXXX, the CSR informed me that my promissory note would indicate the variable rate and she would mail me a copy. I received the copy but there is no indication on any document that we could find that indicates how high an interest rate can go. The current rate now is 14.625 % and that is unreasonable. This documentation should indicate the least amount of interest we could be charged, as well as the highest amount of interest we could be charged. We have been doing everything we can to pay off one loan at a time, and since making large extra payments, the interest has done nothing but increase, and now its up 4 % points. This is extremely unfair, unreasonable and predatory. Students taking out loans should get information on their truth in lending statements of what the exact interest rate can be. The would variable is very misleading and doesn't really provide what the interest could be.

Consumer Complaint: On Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX I saw that my balance on Navient was overdue. It is my understanding that the student loan pause is still in effect. I also submitted paperwork for an Income Based Repayment plan and, according to my other loan servicer, XXXX, that isn't set to change until XXXX. On or after XX/XX/XXXX I received a response in the form of a message on Navient 's website, which has since been deleted ( not by me... I never delete correspondence ), that their records show my plan lapsed as of XXXX or XXXX and that I need to pay the amount that's overdue ( {$78.00} ). The warning on their website stated that if I didn't pay I might be subject to late charges. The due date was XX/XX/XXXX and I have an upcoming due date of XX/XX/XXXX for the next payment.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, my brother XXXX XXXX received a call about my student loans from Navient. I do not understand how they got his phone number but thats not a point of major concern. They asked to speak with myself. He addressed himself as XXXX XXXX. They asked him to verify my DOB which he initially got wrong. They played a guessing game with the year which he eventually got right. If they asked him to verify anything else to include an address he would not have been able to. They proceeded to discuss my student loan information. He knows my account balance and what kind of settlement that they are offering and he shouldnt. He has never been authorized to speak for me. He has never been included on any of my loan documents. Never had he been noted to be a POA or anything of the sort. It is my understanding that I have a right to some level of privacy.

Consumer Complaint: I have been dealing with Navient for several years in an attempt to continue to fulfill my payment obligations. For several years ( approximately 20 ) I have been making payments under an Income Based Repayment schedule, retiring in XXXX and moving to an IBR program shortly there after. For many years there were no issues to note. In the last five years or so there has been ongoing difficulty with Navient and having our payments being reflected correctly. I have had many phone calls ( dozens, if not over a hundred ) of phone calls with Navient representatives attempting to address whatever issues may exist. In several cases we would appear to reach agreement in discussion, only to receive correspondence indicating something different from what was agree. In an act of desperation, in order to attempt to truly address what Navient appears to see as continuing lack of payment, I send them nearly {$2000.00} in response to a letter in XXXX indicating that my account was delinquent in that amount. To be clear, I have been continuously making monthly payments for the amount due throughout the course of this loan without interruption for the amount due. My hope was that that act of payment would address the matter as they saw it. It did not, instead letters indicating late payment continue. My payments are sent through a bank bill pay service, same time and amount each month. My records are clear that Navient is being paid. I believe Navient is acting intentionally to create this situation that I have actively engaged in attempting to address. No action on my part over the last several years appears to appease this company, which has brought me to you at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to possibly help address.
