Consumer Complaint: I have an account on my credit report from the US Department of Education that I have no knowledge of, I did not apply for a student loan, I have never gone to college, I have no affiliation with that company. I have attempted to contact them multiple times with no success. The loan amount is for {$290.00} and it shows that the account was opened XX/XX/2019. I have NO knowledge of this, I believe this was a result of identity theft or perhaps a mistake with SSN numbers, I have no idea. I need this removed from my credit report NOW.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX XXXX, I obtained a loan in the amount of {$18000.00} from XXXX XXXX ( now Navient ). They ended my interim period ( non-repayment period ) in XXXX despite still attending school. I was not advised of the repayment options I had at the time, and instead put me into deferment/forbearance until I began repaying in XXXX XXXX XXXX. I graduated in XXXX XXXX Steering me into exploding my debt through deferment/forbearance is, at the very least, unethical. XXXX XXXX used South Dakota as an usury haven to allow unfettered interest accumulation. I have paid nearly {$40000.00} for this loan, and have another {$43000.00} or so remaining. My loan term will end around XXXX XXXX at which point I will have paid over {$100000.00} for an {$18000.00} loan. This is extortion, and given the other crimes NavientXXXX XXXX has committed over the years, this appears to qualify for XXXX consideration. They refuse to allow me to settle for less than I currently owe, even though I was recently more than 3 months past due ( I am unemployed ), and even though I have already repaid more than I borrowed a couple times over. I was told over the phone that they won't do that, " because it doesn't make good business sense. '' It is their intention to extort money from me at the cost of future financial opportunity, and at the cost of my reputation and credit score. Had I been made aware of my options at the start of the repayment period, I would not be on track to pay more than 500 % of the money I borrowed. This is debt bondage.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: Twice this year Navient has put my student loan repayments into deferment, without my permission. I have been repaying my original student loans and want to continue repaying them, in fact, I was set up for monthly auto-pay payments. I contacted Navient around XXXX or XX/XX/2022 after the first time they put my loans into deferment and stated in writing thatI did not want my loans in deferment. After this contact, they restarted my auto-payments. However, it appears that once again in XX/XX/2022 they put my loans in deferment again, without my request or permission. I do not want my loans in deferment - I did not request for this to happen, nor did I approve the changes to my account. Today, XX/XX/2022, I received an email from Navient telling me that I have accrued an additional amount of unpaid interest on my student loans ... .because Navient has not been deducting the auto-payment on my loans since XX/XX/2022 - even though I did not ask for or authorize this change. I logged into my Navient account today, after receiving the correspondence about the accrued interest on my account, only to find that I am unable to reinstate or change the payments on my account ... .because it is in deferment. Navient has 'disabled ' these features on my account. I feel like this is absolutely criminal and a very crooked way to make more interest off of a loan. I have once again contacted Navient stating that I do not want my loan on deferment and I want to continue with the auto-pay that I had set up ( which also provided a discounted rate for auto-payment, which they XXXX ). I can not believe that the changes Navient has made are legal and are a violation of my consumer financial rights.

Consumer Complaint: Navient Solutions keeps contacting me the last time they contacted a gentleman kept stating I need to pay my loan in full for {$36000.00}. I stated to the gentleman I do not have that type of money and stated as all my calls from Navient are recorded calls I dated every time I needed my loan payments lowered due to loosing my job and not being able to afford the high payments. I stated I could only pay {$25.00} a month as I have many bills to pay. The gentleman told me to post date a payment and I stated I need an email stating this information because I will not just give anyone my person information. This gentleman is unprofessional and is very demanding. The telephone number that keeps contacting me is XXXX. I have the voicemail messages if needed

Consumer Complaint: This student loan was taken out in XXXX XXXX with Navient. I am the co-signer for this loan, my son became XXXX in XXXX and have not been able to pay, so I'm doing the best I can! I'm XXXX and only get a limited amount each month. The part that bothers me the most is, the original loan was for {$23000.00} and 10 years later we still owe {$22000.00}. After caculating what we have paid on this loan so far totals {$20000.00}. My son paid religiously on this loan, then capitalized interest was added. See the list that was added .... In XX/XX/XXXX {$3300.00}, XXXX XXXX {$480.00}, XX/XX/XXXX {$490.00}, XX/XX/XXXX {$520.00}, XXXX XXXX {$360.00}, XX/XX/XXXX {$680.00}, XX/XX/XXXX {$140.00}, XXXX XXXX {$97.00}. PLUS the additional interest that was added each and every month. My son had a hard time finding a job after he graduated and the loan went into Forbearance twice, in XX/XX/XXXX and in XX/XX/XXXX, BUT during that time he did pay a discounted payment. As you can see, it's very frustrating to know that this loan has been paid on for 10 years, starting with a {$23000.00} loan and as of XX/XX/XXXX balance {$22000.00}

Consumer Complaint: Aggressively recruiting students to take out loans with no regard for their ability to pay them back and predatory lending practices. Forced me into a high interest loan with little to no financial aid. These student loans are also from XXXX XXXX who along with Navient has been found to have fraudulent behavior regarding taking advantage of students at a young age to take out high interest loans. I borrowed between after XXXX and before XXXX where Navient was found guilty of these charges.

Consumer Complaint: Navient has delayed the process of me applying for direct consolidated loan with XXXX. Advantage stated they requested payoff information from Navient and only received the subsidized amount. They have requested both the subsidized and unsubsidized payoff amounts. This has created a delay in the process and we are now months into the process. This has resulted in Navient being able to reinstate my payments that were in forbearance without notice which has resulted in past due status of my account. This also jeopardizes my eligibility for my PSLF application. This is unfair and unjust and Navient should answer.
