Issue: Getting a loan
Subissue: Fraudulent loan
Consumer Complaint: For years, I have attempted to make payments thinking this loan was tied to my XXXX XXXX After a caring representative clarified my concerns she answered all my questions and provided me with a copy of the check Navient claimed I have cashed. For years prior, I was told they couldnt provide me with information regarding the application. Once the copy was sent to me, as expected this check was falsely endorsed with my name and cashed into an account I never had! So for 9 years and an interest rate doubling the loan, I have slaved in order to keep my credit subpar and pay for a {$19000.00} check I never cashed! Not to mention the discriminatory remarks made by agents during a pandemic. Navient has to be one of the worst student loan shark in the nation! After I completed this investigation on my own accord, I have called Navient repeatedly- as they have done to me and my poor grandmother in order to request Navient to complete an investigation and confirm my findings. Again, the wonderful, cheerful representatives left me on hold for upwards 45 minutes to only hang up on me, or respond with- well lets see what reduced payment options you qualify for. Please tell me who wants to pay {$42000.00} for a {$19000.00} check they never cashed? These are the events in life, where someone doing there all to make it, can literally break emotionally.

Consumer Complaint: I, XXXX XXXX, checked my credit XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX and realized that my student loans were reporting 5 late payments each in XXXX. I don't understand how that is possible when they have been deferred properly since I finished school. According to FCRA 15 USC 1681 ( a ) my report is inaccurate and unfairly being reported. The credit bureaus are in violation of my rights

Consumer Complaint: I am contacting you because I noticed that Navient has significantly extended the payoff date of each of my federal loans ( and significantly increased the total payoff amount of each of them ) after I opted in to the COVID-19 administrative forbearance. After deciding to take advantage of the administrative forbearance in XX/XX/2021, I noticed that payoff schedules for all of my loans were significantly extended, resulting in much larger total payments. For example, there is one loan for which I should have 18 more months left of payment ( or 24 months if I include the forbearance period ) and for which I owe around {$2600.00}. However, my account now reflects that I have 32 more months of repayment resulting in a total of nearly {$4600.00}. Another one, in which I should have 12 more months of repayment ( 18 if counting the forebearance ), now shows a payment schedule of 25 more months. The total balance on that loan should be around {$2100.00} but the new payment schedule would have me paying {$5600.00}. Similar discrepancies are reflected on all of my federal loans serviced by Navient. There is no reason that this should be the case given I was paying all of the loans consistently up until XX/XX/2021, had already paid off interest on the affected loans, and those loans have been on a 0 % interest rate for over a year now due to the COVID-19 emergency relief measures. I requested that these errors in my estimated payoff schedules be corrected and received three different responses from three different Navient representatives. None of the responses is satisfactory. I spoke to one specialist on the phone who stated that my loan terms had changed since I had changed my payment plan ; however, my payment plan has been the same for several years. Another specialist who replied to a written complaint said that Navient would not be able to update my account and reflect the proper payoff schedule while my loans were in the administrative forbearance. This doesn't make sense as it would mean that Navient effectively stops servicing the loans by providing up-to-date information on their status during this period. And a final one indicated that postponing my payments would inherently extend my projected payoff date, resulting in a higher payoff amount. However, that response doesn't explain why the loans would be extended for multiple times longer than the requested forbearance period, with the result being several thousands of dollars inexplicably added on to the total amount due. I wanted to report my concerns around this development since the inaccurate information impacts my eligibility for an employer-paid loan repayment program that I participate in. I also recognize that I am uniquely able to track these bizarre changes because of the record keeping that I do for that program. I suspect that other borrowers would not have historical information about their loans that would enable them to see how dramatically and arbitrarily their payoff estimates have increased just by moving their loans into the administrative forbearance from one day to the next.

Consumer Complaint: I attended XXXX XXXX XXXX in 2006 and was forced to take out a private loan for the program I was enrolled in. The loan was for {$6000.00}. Through the years I have had difficulty and reinrolled in school. The balance has been over $ 13k for the last two years and never seems to go down. They have compounded more than 100 % interest twice what the loan started out as 15 years ago. I have asked if anything can be done only to get the run around. Navient are loan sharks. There is no way my loan will ever be paid. I keep paying and the balance never changes.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I took a loan of about $ # XXXX for my son 's education and paid some of the loan and an amount of {$5600.00} became past due. The Company ( NAVIENT SOLUTIONS LLC ) contacted me for payments many times. After a while I started making payment by checks to through my XXXX Bank account XXXX XXXX XXXX accounts. I paid up all the past due balance. After I completed the payments to Navient, I got a call and a " bill '' from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX claiming to collect on the debt that have already been paid. I called both Navient and XXXX to let them know the debt has been paid in full and yet XXXX continues to call and bill me for the debt. They also continue to report the debt on my credit report which is not accurate.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: As a borrower, since XX/XX/XXXX I have been struggling to repay my Navient loan off. The original principal was {$2500.00} and the unpaid principal as of XX/XX/XXXX is {$5400.00}. The interest type - ( variable ) with an interest rate of 7.25 %. I can definitely say I have been misrepresented and misguided over the years from plenty of Navient workers steering me toward multiple forbearances instead of income-driven repayment plans due to their lack of knowledge and unfair and deceptive practices. I am currently in a forbearance and although my payments are suspended temporarily, the interest continues to accumulate and I am paying more interest on their interest! I am struggling to stay float and this is negatively reporting to the 3 bureaus. I have been dealing with this for 18 years and I have received thousands of persistent " robocalls '' yet the center practices to better serve me as the borrower is a complete nightmare. Navient lack of training and customer service shows greatly and navigating through the complexity of this has caused great difficulty. Navient workers are too busy to give personalized advice to the borrower and I am exhausted with them reading from a script and there incompetency. My estimated payoff date is XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. This is outrageous.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX loans Dates, amounts, and actions that were taken by you or the company are attached in the link below I would like to resolve this matter by the creditor having to cease and desist any further collection of any alleged debts they claim I owe. According to the Fair debt collection practice act and section 609 law, they don't have the right to collect the debt without providing me with my original instrument of INDEBTEDNESS. Therefore all those items in dispute must cease and desist immediately! Also I expect the credit bureaus to remove those items from my credit report immediately, or I would like to proceed with a litigation process immediately against them.

Consumer Complaint: Since XX/XX/2020 I have sent Navient Solutions LLC {$9700.00} towards my student loans as part of my repayment of the money I still owe for college loans taken out 12 years ago. I have struggled with making on-time payments in the past and have made sacrifices so that I could get my credit back and begin to pay them on time. I have found it troubling that with sending almost {$10000.00} to them, my balance never seems to lower. After looking at how my money is being used, only {$1900.00} has been applied to my principal balance. {$7700.00} since has been set aside to pay interest. I am reaching out to see if there is anything you can do to help bring some balance to this transaction. It is an absolute shame that this is allowed to happen and I'm sure I'm not the only person that is suffering from this.
