Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Good Morning. My name is XXXX XXXX. My account number is XXXX. I just spoke to a Navient representative. I was also informed Navient only reports at the end of the month. I am currently in a deferment and my loan is in good standings and has been in good standing for the last few years. There is no balance due on my account. Navient has reported incorrect information to the credit bureau twice this month. Once on XX/XX/2021 and XX/XX/2021. My credit score has dropped 42 points. This has caused me great pain and suffering. I have been working on my credit I have paid over several items recently. Navient has done this in XXXX of this year and they fixed the problem now this is happening again. This is unacceptable. I have called, emailed, mailed, and faxed numerous letters to Navient and no response. Navient has only reported this to XXXX.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: My wife and I borrowed money for college from the years XXXX. We both had Stafford loans and shortly after we got married in XXXX we began making payments on our student loans. At the time, it was " XXXX '' that serviced our Stafford Loans. Unbeknownst to us at that time, as young and inexperienced borrowers, we decided to consolidate our student loans together at 6.875 % and begin paying on them together. Well, it wasn't long after that that we realized we didn't have the money every month to make the payments we were required to pay and so we put our loans in deferment. Due to circumstances out of our control in the following years, we still were unable to pay on our student loans and we ended up putting them into forbearance not realizing that our loan balances were continuing to have interest appreciate on those balances. About ten years ago, Sallie Mae was taken over by Navient and we were told to put our loans in forbearance again. But by then, we had already accrued a ton of interest on our loans. We finally went into an XXXX plan while our loan continued to accrue interest and we made very minimal payments on the loans. The amounts we were paying were simply paying interest and we had no hope of any of that money every going towards any principal. Fast forward to XXXX where we are still making payments on these loans with no hope of ever paying off the balances. Navient has done nothing to help us figure out if there are other options to determine how we can ever pay these loans off. Our income is slowly starting to grow as my wife and I have had new jobs and we are watching our IBR payments continue to rise while none of these payments go to help us pay off any principal. Over the years, we have been pushed into forbearance before being given the option of IBRepayment, thus accruing ridiculous amounts of interest onto our principal balance and now, {$45000.00} worth of original student loans has grown to over {$94000.00} of repayment. Interest accrues daily and we still are watching our loan balance climb with no way of making a dent in the principal. If there is any way we can get some relief from this growing mountain of debt that just continues to grow ... we would be grateful. Navient has simply taken advantage of people like us in a needy situation and profited off of us.

Consumer Complaint: I have not heard from navient for a long time. All of XXXX I received bills stating that payments were being made. I know I was added to a law suit, but when I called they said my XXXX yr old mom had been making payments. She stated she made no payments. Then XX/XX/XXXX they started sending bills stating we owe XXXX. This is their negligence Don't send bills to 2 seniors citizens trying to collect on their negligence, plus I am a XXXX former XXXX worker with over 20 plus years of service, so I am dealing with that issue also. I became XXXX in my place of employment. I was never told within the year window of time to apply for retirement disability. I even submitted disability paperwork to Navient from my doctor. I lost my home and belongings behind all this. I have nothing. I have been actively been trying to find a federal position working from home which had been requested by my doctor years ago before he passed away.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I am writing this complaint with hopes that you are able to assist me. During the pandemic the president signed the " Cares Act '' which placed all federal student loans on a pandemic forbearance/suspension. To my knowledge all of my student loans are federal student loans so I assumed that all of my student loans would be placed in this status. The cares act with respect to the student loans was extended at multiple stages throughout the 2020 year due to the continued state of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was not until late XX/XX/XXXX that I pulled my credit report and noticed that half of my student loans were reporting as current and the other half was reporting as past due. I immediately contacted the Navient company to find out what was going on. I spoke with a representative and I was informed that yes all of my student loans are federal student loans however half are owned by the Department of Education and the other half was owned by Navient. I immediately attempted to rectify the situation by applying for a deferment which was approved. However reporting on my credit report are late statuses for XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. Navient has been sending my past due status and my monthly statements to an UNKNOWN ADDRESS, for which I am attaching those documents. FYI I was able to recognize the address discrepancy because during one of my conversation with a customer service rep she walked me thru accessing the documents online and I noticed that for some odd reason they were sending certain correspondences to my address XXXX XXXX XXXX but some to an incorrect address for which I have never lived XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX. I added this to explain why I was not more proactive in trying to rectify the situation before it even got to this point where the accounts were reporting past due. Whats wierd is they were sending letters to this address telling me they were unable to get in touch with me to the same address they were unable to contact me at. Looks like they updated my address since. Regarding : Account # XXXX Attaching 1. Cares act info 2. Screen shot displaying the past due statuses on my credit report 3. A few documents showing proof that notices were being send to wrong address.
