Consumer Complaint: I received a random email for the first time today, for an outstanding debt owed in the amount of {$690.00} and an account number, no other information given, no prior communication from this Company. Looks like a scam, as I have NEVER heard of this company before. I call the courts and they advised that they have this company as a third-party debt collector, however, they show no outstanding balances owed. Apparently, this is for an outstanding debt from 2013 to a Superior Court, for a traffic ticket, bogus! I have never received ANY type of written notification for any outstanding debt, within the 5-day period, MANDATED BY LAW! I call the company MSB ( Collection Agency ) and the gentleman on the phone tries to state that he is needing my current address to send me notification of the debt. The debt is over 8 years old ; I should have been notified immediately of ANY third-party company with my information that they were using, to try and collect a debt. He stated that they did notify me. When asked he could not provide the address. If he has sent prior written notification, then when wouldnt the Company have my address on file? I called the courts and they have my record of current address on file, and no notification of this outstanding debt and to contact the collection agency personally to resolve, which I did. Although this is NOT even a valid debt, California statute of limitations states the following : " California has a statute of limitations of four years for ALL debts except those made with oral contracts. For oral contracts, the statute of limitations is two years. This means that for unsecured common debts like credit card debt, lenders can not attempt to collect debts that are more than four years past due. '' This debt is over 8 years old, with no record of nonpayment, any break of any contractual agreements either verbal or written. NOT VALID! Not to mention the California law below, which reads : Within five days after a debt collector first contacts you, it must send you a written notice, called a " validation notice, '' that tells you ( 1 ) the amount it thinks you owe, ( 2 ) the name of the creditor, and ( 3 ) how to dispute the debt in writing. Again, nothing was provided to me and this is the first I am hearing of it. Its not on my credit report, because A. ) Not a Valid Debt, B. ) No written notification of that debt was every received to process, and C. ) It has a 4-year limit on it for collecting any outstanding debt, which would make their debt completely invalid, on that reason alone. They were advised by me to remove this invalid debt, without supplying any actual proof or record of, and to send me a letter advising this was an error and it has been resolved with no outstanding balances. Refusal was given, so I am now forced to file this submission of complaint, that I wish to have resolved as soon as possible, please.

Consumer Complaint: I attended XXXX XXXX that has since closes in XXXX VA and was told that they would soon have the accreditation that would transfer by the time I graduated. I am a veteran and had my entire tuition paid for except for a total of XXXX that I paid back in full. Years after graduation, I was told that a loan for the exact same amount on the same days was taken out for a campus in Florida. I contacted the Florida campus and talked to the XXXX who assured me that I have never been enrolled on campus or online. I have filed a Borrower 's document for protection.

Consumer Complaint: This account is involved in litigation for fraudulent practices according to my FCRA rights. I have not supplied proof under the doctrine of estoppel by silence, Engelhardt v. Gravens ( Mo ) 281 SW 715, 719, I may presume that no proof of the alleged debt, nor therefore any such debt, in fact exists. Note that the collector has to stop all collection activities until it can provide all the evidence. Under the FDCPA Section 809, Validation of debts [ 15 USC 1692g ] I have the right to verify any alleged debt on my credit report and if the alleged debt is being disputed, the debt collector shall cease.

Consumer Complaint: Department of Education/Navient is still reporting about 119 delinquencies on my credit report. My student loans were paid in full by XX/XX/XXXX. I have sent countless letters, e-mails and made phone calls concerning the delinquencies still be reported despite all accounts being paid in full. They have reported duplicate accounts on my report and they refuse to rectify this issue. XXXX and XXXX are still reporting 13 accounts as of XX/XX/XXXX. Navient has a class action lawsuit for deceptive practices and consumer protection. Also under the Rescue Act, they are supposed to abide by certain provisions and they will not update the information on the reporting.

Consumer Complaint: 3rd party collections called, harassed, shamed, yelled and ridiculed me for my loan debt. Agreed on settling the debt with upfront payment my mom borrowed from bank and then automatic payments for 5 years monthly of XXXX. Now years later, Sallie Mae is showing no payments or any updates to my account showing that I made all payments in full per agreement years ago. Now my credit is bad due to their lack of records of my payments and I no farther ahead with payments since they don't awknowledge my payment records. Sallie Mae loans in my name should be paid full as per agreement but they're not accepting previous agreement.

Consumer Complaint: Navient has been harassing my family and I regarding my student loans. They call 4 to 5 times a day during peak work hours when I am unable to answer because I am working with patients. They also call my husband at his place of employment. I was available to speak to them finally today and when I did they told me I owe on my loans as well as charging interest and fees in spite of my Navient Federal Loans ( 2 loans ) being FFEL loans which as I understand fall under CARES Act for suspended payment and charges until XX/XX/2021. In addition to the 2 FFEL loans, I DO have a private Navient loan I co-signed with my husband. I pay monthly on that loan in the amount of {$100.00}. Can you please assist me in this situation? Thank you.

I am a single mother with multiple bills and am unable to meet the monthly payment they have given. They send me notices via email daily and it stresses me out. I tried working with them and have been paying up until now. I can not afford the payments and they have no other options for me to repay the loan back. They were not able to work with me when trying to resolve this issue
