Consumer Complaint: Navient Student Loan Servicer : Since 2020 our interest rates have been placed on hold. I have continued to make my monthly payments ( even doubling them during this worldwide crisis ) however, Navient is still charging interest and I am paying interest during every payment for my loan. There is NO contact information listed other than an email-automated system that has severely failed to help, find help, or seek to have someone contact me to help me.

I had no idea they were going to charge this loan off. They report as " late '' each month for several years, but it's not open, it's closed. They refuse to speak to me through customer service, and I have had no luck working out any progress with the company.

Consumer Complaint: During XXXX, I was attending XXXX school at least half time. Navient, the servicer of several loans, failed to contact me and inform me that my student loans were not in deferment. It was not until XXXX that I was made aware that Navient was demanding payment. I spoke with a representative from Navient, and they steered me into a forbearance, and gave me additional ACCOMMODATIONS to address what they were claiming as a delinquency. Navient also initiated Income Based Prepayment, and wrote me a letter of Good Standing. However, even though I brought the a account " current, Navient continued to report that my accounts were 90 days delinquent, which damaged my credit score and my ability to secure an auto loan. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security ( CARES ) Act, Pub. L. No. 116-136 ( XXXX. XXXX, XXXX ), at section 4021, amends the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). A new subparagraph ( F ) is added to 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ), which provides, in part that " If a delinquent consumer manages to catch up during the accommodation period, the creditor or other furnisher must then report the consumer as current. 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ( a ) ( 1 ( F ) ( ii ) ( II ) ( bb ). '' However, as noted above, Navient continues to report my accounts as 90 days delinquent. Navient is violating the FCRA, and/or other laws.

Consumer Complaint: I paid off my personal loan ( amount {$770.00} ) with Navient as of XX/XX/XXXX. At this point in time the matter was handled as a pay to delete. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke with XXXX XXXX ( a XXXX ) as well as XXXX ( a rep ) after receiving a statement saying my settlement was a payment and that I still had a large balance due within a few weeks. I was informed by XXXX that everything would be handled and to disregard the statement notice. Please note that Navient continues to report a negative payment history for XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX despite this account being settled in full. Moreover on XX/XX/XXXX I spoke to XXXX who reported that my account was showing settled in full and it would be removed from all credit reporting. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke to XXXX who sent me an additional letter from Navient reporting my account was closed with a XXXX balance. XXXX further reported that it would take approximately 60 days for this account to fall off my credit reports. XXXX then instructed me to call the credit bureaus and dispute this account myself if it was taking too long for them to recitfy. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called and spoke to XXXX who reported that all she could do was assist me by opening up a ticket ( # XXXX ) and that she could not give me a time estimate on the completion of this issue. After repeatedly disputing with the credit bureaus to no avail, Navient needs to be held accountable for reporting inaccurate payment history and failing to have this account deleted.

Consumer Complaint: First reported to all three credit bureaus on XX/XX/XXXX that NAVIENT Student loans falsely reported me late on the XXXX of XXXX. I was placed into a new payment plan with NAVIENT on the XXXX following being laid off. Their credit reporting department and collections/payment plan department apparently do not talk to one another. My account is current and currently showing nothing due at this time. For some reason XXXX is only reporting one of the three loans current when all four loans are under the same payment plan which means they should all be reporting as current. XXXX and XXXX were reporting exceptional payment history for all four loans but now it looks like on my end they are showing a missed payment for XXXX again. Again all four loans for NAVIENT on all three credit bureaus should be reporting as no recent missed payments. I am trying to move forward on a home loan and if this isn't resolved in time, i.e. this week I will be homeless thanks to NAVIENT falsely reporting. Likewise, my XXXX XXXX account was in a payment plan - never received that documentation from XXXX XXXX account has been paid in full and should reflect that on my credit report ASAP too.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: I started with aprox XXXX in private loans, I've paid them XXXX over the last 10 years and I still owe more than XXXX. It's because they adjust my interest rates almost every month. I've had $ XXXX {$300.00} in remaining interest for at least 2 years as the constant increase in interest rates makes it so I'm never paying more than a few dollars in principal, it all goes to interest, every time. They have complete control over me, I called recently to ask if I could pay off the loan in full at a reduced amount and they said absoultely not. How am I ever suppose to repay this loan? Due to my debt in income ratio ( because of these loans as my credit score is over XXXX ) I am unable to refinance this loan to get a fixed rate. I've already been forced to file bankruptcy as I couldn't pay off a small amount of credit card debt due to the fact that I stay current of my loans since my mother co-signed. There's literally no end in sight to this madness.

Consumer Complaint: I was with XXXX and Navient. During these times I asked multiple times if there was a plan that I could possibly be on to lower my payments however they continued to tell me my only option was Forbearance. Even when I was in XXXX XXXX in XXXX and XXXX they informed me that I had to go into forbearance as I was a full time employee. Another time when I filed bankruptcy I asked not to be in any type of forbearance as I knew my loans could not be discharged thru a bankruptcy so I didnt want to accrue more interest however I was again informed that my loans could not be collected on during a bankruptcy. I do believe these forbearance periods would have been ones that would count towards my XXXX program. I think this is very unfair as I never said I didnt want to pay I was asking the knowledgeable staff at Navient and XXXX to guide me not lie to me in order for my loans to rack up on interest charges.

Consumer Complaint: My XXXXXXXX XXXX ( Subsidized and Unsubsidized ) from my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees were consolidated by Navient into private loans ( XXXX ). The rationale they provided was that since the loans ( provided as a part of my financial aid packages ) were funded by private lenders prior to 2010, they do not qualify as department of Education loans, and are in fact private loans. This classification of my XXXX loans as private loans makes me ineligible for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness for which I would qualify ( XXXX XXXX for over 20 years ). They will not reclassify the loans. I have no idea how to proceed to get my loans reclassified correctly. Navient, in their correspondence, is not helpful.

I was tricked into putting my loan into forbearance multiple times over the course of the last 14 years. When I did use other methods of payment they did not fully explain all the ramifications to me. My credit has been ruined by this company and they are now preying on my XXXX XXXX XXXX cosigner mother who bankrupted this loan over 10 years ago. I was not part of the settlement according to their representatives. If you could please look into this I would greatly apprectiate it.
