Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I am unable to make my monthly payments and feel that XXXX XXXX XXXX misrepresented when taking out these private loans a claim that has been approved by my borrower defense application through the Department of Education ; however, Navient disagrees and says that private loans are excluded from borrower defense and multiple agents tell me that I have no options and need to repay the loans. I feel that misrepresentation and fraud under Federal Rules 34 C.F.R. 685.206 ( c ) and/or 685.222 should apply regardless of the loan type. Navient calls me every hour for the last 45 days to make my payments which I tell them I have been going through a hardship and they do not seem to care or willing to work with me. I have had undue stress and suffered XXXX divorce because of this debt.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I currently hold an FFEL loan which is serviced Navient. I began the process of consolidating the loan on StudentAid.gov ; however, the data furnished to the department of education is inaccurate. Interest rate on my loan is XXXX, whereas the data furnished by Navient to the Dept of Education says it is 4.88 %. The consolidated rate quoted by the department of education is 5 % which amounts to a substantial increase in my interest rate if I were to consolidate. I contacted Navient and they maintain their reporting excludes an autopay discount. This practice by Navient of reporting the higher interest rate prevents me and other borrowers from consolidating at a reasonable interest rate because the rounded-up blended rate quoted becomes much higher and discourages borrowers from taking sdvsntsnge of consolidation.

Consumer Complaint: Good day, I am getting calls and emails from Navient which is my loan servicer. They want me to pay my loan and they have stated that I have not made a payment in almost 90 days. I am the understanding that my loans were in hold due to the government. They also just reported my loans late to all credit reporting companies. I feel that they're taking aventage of persons and they want parents when payments are frozen.

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: For years, the student loan servicing company Navient allegedly encouraged student loan borrowers to enter costly long-term forbearance programs that pushed them further into debt, as well as take on private loans they couldnt pay back, according to lawsuits filed by several states, and joined by 39 attorneys general. Those claims were resolved through a settlement announced yesterday ( XXXX XXXX ) affecting some 400,000 borrowers. Navient says it will cancel {$1.00} billion in private student loan debt for 66,000 borrowers, as well as pay an additional {$95.00} million in restitution to 350,000 people with federal loans. The former deal mostly focuses on students who took out loans to attend for-profit colleges between XXXX and XXXX. I was part of both Sallie Mae and Navient and would like to have my loans considered. I can not move forward in my life to even purchase a home at my age because of this one school of XXXX that I went to

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX. I have new information associated with prior complaint # XXXX. On XX/XX/2022, NAVIENT received a letter requesting information for the purpose of validating an alleged debt. It is now XX/XX/2022 and no correspondence from this company has been received. NAVIENT has purposefully ignored my request for validation of the alleged debts, thus violating my federal rights. NAVIENT is still illegally reporting negatively to all consumer credit reporting agencies, which is another violation. If documentation in the form of account ledgers, promissory notes, disclosures, etc are not received from NAVIENT, 5 days after receipt of this complaint ; it will be assumed that the alleged accounts are not valid and all collection attempts must cease. Also, all accounts must be deleted from all consumer reporting agencies.

Subissue: You told them to stop contacting you, but they keep trying
Consumer Complaint: I have never been happy with Navient customer service- they seem poorly trained. I get so frustrated with the web sight not accepting my password, long hold times, and rude reps in the call center. I wanted to refinance or consolidate before my IBR needed to be recertified. in the past year I have had one custumer service rep tell me my loans are not federal, and another tell me they are and I " must '' consolidate them through StudentAid.Gov. But when I attempted I was told I was ineligible. I am also constantly put in forbearance - every time I ask a question, or make a complaint to a service rep I get put in forbearance - with no follow up - no email or letter telling me the terms of the forbearance. I was aware it was time for me to recertify my IBR, and was planning on trying the various websites again. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I was working on writing an email on my phone when it rang, it was from Navient, I knew it was about my IBR so I declined it in order to finish the email I was working on. They then called back 3-4 times in a row, with no time between calls, at the same time sending me several emails- all within 90 seconds. Later I took my anger out by responding to the survey that sent to me in that 90 second " blast ''. This is where I have to admit I have a temper, assuming that the survey was never going to be looked at, I vented my frustrations. I basically said : I have done the math I will be paying student loans until I die, I don't understand how an individual can work for a company as poorly run as Navient, is the goal of the harassment to get borrowers to default or commit suicide, because that seems to be our only options. Normally I probably would have vented my anger and hit delete, but I was so angry about not being able to finish the email I hit send. Navient response to this survey was not an apology for the harassing behavior of their employee, but they called XXXX XXXX for a wellness check! I work at an elementary school, I have a loving and intelligent support network, had I truly been a danger to myself or others, a wellness check from a student loan company would have resulted in more damage than support. I frankly feel because I insulted the people who would choose to work for a company as poorly run as Navient with such dubious goals, this was further harassment, and when the algorithm spit out my survey complaining of harassment, the manager in charge decided to " get even '' with me by harrassing me all the more. I suspect the amount of thought that went into this decision was minimal : " XXXX XXXX we got a really harsh survey review, this women is so frustrated she's talking XXXX. " " the XXXX used the word XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on her ''. and then he went to lunch with out any follow up or concern for what had happened. Navient has constantly proven that they do not understand that human beings are behind the phone calls. When someone asks " are my loans federal or private ''. or when will my forbearance end and how much will it end up costing me '' they need to know the answers. Would you return to a store that would not tell you if you were buying whole milk or 2 %, or how much it cost and than yelled at you for even asking?
