Consumer Complaint: Our house burned down on XX/XX/2016. We were covered by XXXX, who, according to the terms of our policy, sent most of the money to our mortgagor. XXXX Mortgage XXXX received {$190000.00} of our money. XXXX held on to our money for a month, never releasing it to us, then sold our mortgage to Nationstar Mortgage. I had to go through the whole process again to get my money released to me. In the meantime my builder was ready to walk off the job of rebuilding our house because he was n't getting paid. I finally got all of my money except for {$7800.00}. Nationstar said that they had to send out an inspector to " protect their investment. '' I advised them that the house was completely rebuilt and that I had a XXXX of XXXX. They said they could n't trust that!!!!! The original inspection was ordered on XX/XX/2016 ; I was never called. On XX/XX/2016 I called again and was advised that the inspectors had our wrong phone number. I told them to call me on my cell phone since our house phone was set up yet. On XX/XX/2016 I called again and was advised that no one answered the phone to set up the appointment. The number they were calling was our old house number that was disconnected. I was assured that the inspector would call us to set up an appointment on XX/XX/2017. As of today, I have not received any calls. These inspectors are not capable of making a single telephone call, how are they capable of doing an inspection? The way we have been treated is disgraceful.

Consumer Complaint: Our home in XXXX was destroyed in the XXXX XXXX wildfire and we received an insurance check of over {$280000.00} for the loss. It was made out to our mortgage company, Nationstar Mortgage, my husband and myself. We signed it and sent it certified mail and it was received on XXXX XXXX. We noticed it was posted to our account on the XXXX as a credit but the balance of the loan was still the same. We called and went through all kinds of hoops to talk to a customer service supervisor XXXX XXXX XXXX and she said it could NOT be paid off because they could not find the notarized mortgage affidavit that we mailed along with the check. I know it was in the letter because I folded it up and placed the check inside for security. My husband told them it better be paid off and they better stop charging us interest. The supervisor said she would keep up informed and call the following day but we never received a call or any other information. The loan balance of a little over {$95000.00} was paid off on XXXX XXXX but we have not received the balance due us of over {$180000.00} dollars or heard anything from anyone else at Nationstar. They have had the money for two weeks tomorrow and nothing!

Consumer Complaint: We applied for and were granted a loan modification because of financial hardship. We paid early and on time. Loan modification was denied before I could make last month 's payment. According to NationStar, we did not return signed documents. We never got the documents, and Nationstar has no proof that they either sent them or that we received them. They now say we owe them over {$3900.00} which we do not have. We did not receive any notification during any of this process that documents were missing. We also took part in XXXX program and NationStar was very hard to work with and said they had transmitted information to the program when they had not ; In addition, they transmitted the wrong payment amount. I have XXXX confidence that they do what they claim they have done. This appears to be some kind of scam in order to foreclose. We have been unable to get a decision making supervisor to contact us about this. We have been calling and emailing since XXXX 2016.

Consumer Complaint: I have already filed a complaint with the CFPB against my mortgage loan servicer, Nationstar Mortgage, reference number : XXXX. However, my mortgage loan is actually owned by XXXX Bank, so I understand I must file this separate complaint against them. XXXX Bank had securitized my loan prior to and during the financial crisis. I have been attempting since XXXX to get a loan modification and principal reduction from XXXX Bank through my loan servicers, first XXXX XXXX XXXX, and now Nationstar, but XXXX Bank has always refused, stating that they do n't give loan modifications or principal reductions at all. Prior to Nationstar, my loan was serviced by XXXX XXXX XXXX, which churned my requests for loan modifications for a period of 3 years. When I brought in the California XXXX during the financial crisis to deal with XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX gave me a " loan modification '' that had much higher payments than my previous ones, and then promptly sold my mortgage to Nationstar within days, with an additional {$120000.00} in fees tacked onto my mortgage, making my mortgage greatly underwater and making it so I have struggled terribly financially since then to keep my home, having to work up to XXXX jobs at a time, file bankruptcy, and lose all my retirement. I continue to struggle greatly to keep my home that is still underwater because of this financial abuse by these mortgage bankers, in particular XXXX Bank, which has always refused to modify my heavily securitized mortgage. XXXX Bank just settled with the U.S. Department of Justice for their criminal mortgage practices XXXX XXXX and are supposed to provide relief to consumers in the form of loan modifications and principal reductions. My home is in the foreclosure process, due to be sold XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and I am filing for a loan modification this week, and I want to be certain that XXXX Bank is required under the new mortgage settlement to apply a loan modification and principal reduction to my mortgage as soon as possible to rectify their abuses against my mortgage loan and myself from their criminal mortgage practices.

Consumer Complaint: I filed a chapter XXXX bankruptcy proceeding XX/XX/XXXX, to include my 1st and 2nd mortgages with XXXX XXXX XXXX. My filing was discharge XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX then sold my loan to Nationstar Mortgage, who then began reporting 120 day late payments on my credit report from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX illegally as I was no longer responsible for this debt. I have filed disputes with the credit reporting agency, I 've contacted Nationstar directly. Nationstar acknowledged my requests to remove the 120 day late reports from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, however denied my requests by stating that " they could continue to do this even after my bankruptcy was discharged for this debt ''. I have now been denied credit from this illegal reporting at this point.

Consumer Complaint: Reverse Mortgaging Servicing Department, Champion Mortgage, contacted me after the summer XXXX to discuss payment of back taxes. I explained, and followed with a letter, that I was diagnosed with XXXX in XXXX XXXX and again in XXXX XXXX, underwent a XXXX in XXXX, a XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and was trying to : 1. get back on my feet financially and 2. was going to market the home and should have it sold by the end summer XXXX. I was told that there was not a re-payment plan available and if the taxes were not paid the house would be placed in foreclosure status. Several months went by and I was contacted by a representative almost weekly inquiring as to my resolution to which I replied that I was close to obtaining the funds they had requested and would have it paid by the end of XXXX XXXX. In XXXX I was told the account had been sent to their attorney for foreclosure but they would continue contacting me. I explained to the representative and wrote a letter of explanation that I was confident funds would be received and not to file for foreclosure making me incur legal expenses. To my surprise, I received a petition from their attorney in XXXX with a respond deadline of 38 days which should be on or about XXXX XXXX, XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I mailed, overnight, a cashiers check for the full amount for taxes requested by Champion Mortgage assuming the suit would be dismissed. The following week I received notice that the suit was in place and I also owed Champion Mortgage the money I received for repairs to my home. I called a representative who explained that my check was received but sent to the wrong department as they assumed it was an insurance issue. I explained that a detailed letter accompanied the check with no response from the representative. The representative said the cashiers check had been forwarded to the correct department on the XXXX ; however, my loan was still in default as Champion had just funded ( I believe she said that day ) the XXXX taxes and unless I paid {$8800.00}, the foreclosure status would remain in place. I explained that I paid the deficiency required in the suit. The representative said that was the old amount, and I had to pay both the old and the new. I asked the representative to have Reverse Mortgage apply the cashiered amount, remove me from foreclosure status, and asked if I could pay the XXXX taxes over the next few months as I was going to sell home. I was told there was no re-payment plan available and they were returning the funds they received from me, back to me and to pay the new amount and the home would remain in foreclosure status. I paid {$36000.00} with a cashiers check on XXXX XXXX. I received a check from Reverse Servicing ( not cashier ) on XXXX XXXX without any accompanying explanation. That same date, I received a letter of delinquency that I owed XXXX. Nothing in the latest letter provides information that my home is subject to foreclosure, only the amount due of XXXX. I explained to more than XXXX representative that property taxes in Texas are due on receipt and not delinquent until XXXX XXXX. I still receive at least XXXX call a week asking when I am going to take care of the taxes and that there is nothing that can be done except to pay the old and new amount or lose the home. I explained to the representative that there had not been a demand made by Reverse Mortgaging for the XXXX taxes as they were not delinquent. This situation has caused a tremendous amount of unnecessary stress on my health as well as my wife, as well as impacting my ability to focus on work.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I secured a mortgage on my home in the amount of {$360000.00} and financed through XXXX XXXX the mortgage was assigned to Aurora Loan Services who then became the mortgagee/note holder.Due to the tough economic times low rate of pay as a school bus driver and the hardships of being a single mother I fell behind on my mortgage payments.About XXXX/XXXX/XXXX before I got back on my feet I received a Notice of Motion for Application of Final Judgment to foreclose on my property. As a single mother of XXXX children with no where else to go I could n't bear the thought of losing my home. Around XXXX I contacted Aurora Loan Services in an attempt to reach an agreement to keep my home and lower my mortgage payments to an affordable amount. After many conversations in which Aurora represented to me that if I made an application through the Home Affordable Mortgage Program I would be able to modify my mortgage.I spent a considerable amount of time and expense in copying numerous documents and paying for postage to mail the application for this modification to Aurora.About XXXX/XXXX/XXXX Aurora Loan XXXX XXXX accepted my application and sent me a XXXX Trial Period Plan. The plan promised that if I made the required trial payments in the amount of {$1200.00} per month for 3 months starting XXXX Aurora would send me a signed copy of the plan and permanently modify the mortgage. If I did n't qualify for the plan Aurora was supposed to send me written notice.On/about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I sent the executed plan along with the first required payment of {$1200.00} to Aurora.Aurora failed to send me notice of my qualification status regarding the plan.Desperate and hoping that my good faith payments would make a difference even without a confirmed plan I continued to send the required payments to Aurora.On/about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I sent a certified check to Aurora Loan Services in the amount of {$1200.00}. Aurora continued to accept my payments and never returned a check, Aurora never officially acknowledged receipt of my payments. In XXXX I received Notice from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that my home was going to be sold at a sheriffs sale on XXXX again contacted Aurora to find out why my payments had n't affected their decision to foreclose on my property.Aurora claimed they never received my payments and since the plan was never executed by both Aurora and myself that they were well within their right to foreclose on my property. The payments were in fact cashed by Aurora. I again pleaded with Aurora to allow me to enter into a loan modification agreement in an attempt to keep my home and they agreed to send me a workout agreement. On/about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I received another workout agreement from Aurora stating that Customer has requested and Lender has agreed to allow Customer to repay the arrearage pursuant to a loan work-out arrangement. I was excited and overjoyed to learn that if I abide by the terms of the workout agreement and made all XXXX required payments on the XXXX of each month beginning in XXXX my home would not go into foreclosure and my children would still have a roof over their heads.On/about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, as required by the terms of the workout agreement I sent the executed agreement to Aurora. On/about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I sent a money order in the amount of {$1200.00}. Aurora did n't confirm receipt of the agreement or my payments. In XXXX I received notice that my home was going to be sold at a sheriff 's sale on XX/XX/XXXX.On/about XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I retained legal counsel to stop the foreclosure proceedings on my property.XX/XX/XXXX I filed for bankruptcy. Now I received correspondence that they are suddenly raising my principal payment from. My interest rate, and escrow stayed the same but my principal has TRIPLED going from {$460.00} to {$1200.00}.
