Consumer Complaint: Dear XXXX, - XX/XX/2016 I made a mobile deposit of a check of the amount of {$1900.00}. ( see attached copy XXXX The check is made to my older brother XXXX and was properly endorsed before it was deposited in my Account at M & T bank. -XX/XX/2016 funds were made available into my account total {$190000.00} -I then proceeded to write a check for the deposit for my apartment for the amount of {$1100.00} XX/XX/2016 at XXXX am, I received a call from the branch stating that the check was declined. I went to the branch who then explained to me that the check was presented before the funds were available, the branch then issued me a certified check in the amount of {$110000.00} I was then on my way to the rental office when the bank teller who provided me with the check called and said that I needed to return the certified check and that her XXXX posted a " hold " on my account stating that she needed clarification as to where the check was from and the needed to hear he story about the check. I called my brother who went with me to the branch, not only did he take his ID, he took the check to show the Branch XXXX : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Vice President Senior Branch XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX The Branch XXXX proceeded to embarrass us by speaking rudely " I need to see your ID immediately, I need to hear you say out loud that you wont deposit this check " " you need to sign on a piece of paper so I can see that it 's your signature " She repeatedly kept saying this to my brother who stayed calm and complied ... XXXX then continued to say that she does not know or ever heard of my brother employer ( diamond resorts international, a multi XXXX dollars publicly traded company btw ). in an effort to make her feel comfortable my brother said that he undertands how regulated her business is and that he himself had worked over a decade on XXXX ad she could google him and see that he is who he is. XXXX XXXX then said " fine ill release your money on saturday XXXX '' XXXX minutes later around XXXX PM XXXX called me and in her continued extremely rude tone told me that " I just googled your friend, and I dont like what I see here '', and continued to read all kinds of irrelevant private information the she said. " I am not going to release this money, I 'm going to hold on to it for another week so I can call my XXXX department and you will get it whenever I 'm done with my own investigation '' This is nothing more than XXXX profiling, as a result of this unprofessional woman I ca n't pay any of my bills, I lost my house and all the money I spent in the process and worst is that my money is being held XXXX .. I need my money back as well as compensation for all the monies I lost in the process a total of {$500.00} sincerely, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: TRANSACTIONS, NONE. I did this XX/XX/XXXX after M & T bank beat me for {$80.00} on a technicality. Despite having definitively placing my account in a no overdraft protection status. M & T has once again paid something on my account and are attempting to justify charging me nsf fees for the overdraft by claiming this as a recurring payment versus a one time payment. Which it is n't and never has been. I pay this manually based on the months that I want the service, if you notice on the account for this vendor, it 's paid on different dates of the months that I use the service. When I placed my account in a status of declining overdraft protection, M & T bank did n't tell me I needed to specify transaction types in which I wanted no overdraft protection. No overdraft means no overdraft, does n't matter the type of transaction.

Consumer Complaint: I recently opened an account with M & T Bank, and my debit card was stolen, and used to take out money. It happened at work, so any co worker could of seen my pin standing behind me at an atm any of those days. It is sad that you ca n't even trust your own coworkers!! I called M & T Bank to cancel my debit and order a new one, and I had trouble just ordering a new card, and they could n't process it, so told me to call back in a week! I have no money now and no card! How am I suppose to eat, pay bills, or anything?! The first time I called the representative was so nasty and hung up on me! I just want this bank to help me with this problem. I switched my bank to join the M & T family, and I have gotten no help! They have not given any response or resolve. Not even a provisional credit to get me by! They hit with fees from every angle, but ca n't help a customer in need. SAD!

Consumer Complaint: M & T Mortgage Company foreclosed on my FHA-insured property in XXXX XXXX. As of XXXX XXXX, they have failed to file a claim with HUD for the property, although in XXXX they only have 18 months to do so. When I inquired about the matter through FHA, the lender falsely claimed that the mortgage was 42 months delinquent and in foreclosure status with Eviction Proceedings initiated ; despite the fact that the house sold at auction in XXXX XXXX, has been vacant since XXXX XXXX since I live in XXXX, and they 've received multiple code violations for not properly securing the home. In addition, the lender is claiming I am still indebted to them.

My debit card got stolen and my cell phone at work. They must of got my pin from when I took out cash at an atm and saw what I punched in on the keypad. Its sad when you ca n't even trust your co workers, and at that your bank to help you with this and get all this money back. They treated me nasty over the phone, and gave me no help M & T bank. Horrible customer service so far! Please help.

Consumer Complaint: I have maintained a XXXX XXXX corporate checking account for 26 years at M & T Bank in XXXX. They never complained about anything for 26 years until XXXX 2016 a computer program, not a person, decided to close my XXXX account and another corporate account called XXXX. I received XXXX identical letters just deciding to close the account. The Bank charged about {$36.00} per month service fees for 26 years : {$10000.00} profit. Now, mind you, we never bounced checks or caused any raucus for 26 years. This was I am told by Bank Services officials that they wanted to move in another direction. This was done the same week that I was approved as an Identity Theft victim against another bank. I think this is discrimination due to my XXXX, my XXXX because we get our Social Security checks deposited into the accounts, the theft of our identity by another bank that has exposed us as victims and/or recent successful settlement of a dispute with the IRS.Or it could be some type of discrimination based specifically on my XXXX. When I called upthe President, I was referred to XXXX reps Banking Services, whi each stated that it was a computer program that many people are complaining about and they were considering scraping it, and M & T bank wants to keep our accounts open. Then, another party in Banking Services named XXXX XXXX was very rude and stated the bank did not need to give a reason, they just decided to close it based on several factors including my XXXX and XXXX. I consider this XXXX and XXXX discrimination. For whatever reason they really think is appropriate, I am being discriminated against. Under the federal discrimination laws, if we ask, they have to tell us why they are demanding closing our account as of XXXX/XXXX/16. ( attached ) Why discriminate against XXXX like us? We are XXXX and attempt to maintain XXXX small businesses in a civil fashion and pay our bills on time. But, we are not rich like the Bank. they expect to just close our accounts without an explanation? I believe the Bank has violated federal and state discrimination and banking laws and should not be allowed to arbitrarily close our account when there is no bad business activity, the accounts are maintained with a good sufficient balance and we have maintained a quality good relationship with branch management for 26 years. Both accounts are in good standing per Branch manager. THIS IS VERY WEIRD! In fact, our Branch Bank manager XXXX XXXX offered to process an XXXX and a corporate business loan and credit card for us AFTER this XXXX/XXXX/16 closure letter was sent by a computer program. AS of XXXX/XXXX/16, XXXX XXXX stated both our accounts were in Good Standing and he did not know any reason why the Bank would want to close our good standing accounts.! IN ADDITION, I HAVE ATTACHED NEW ACCOUNT SOLICITATIONS FOR CREDIT CARDS AND OTHER BANK SERVICES! Who is running this bank? Why threaten to close our accounts and solicit us for new business at the same time? What is the name of this computer program installed at M & T bank, what are the data points that triggered the program to issue a letter without any management oversight? What other XXXX victims have the Bank targeted to close their accounts without cause? How many accounts has the Bank closed using this invisible computer program?

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX I had another late charge for an insurance payment ; the funds were not available because of a previous illegal INSUFFICIENT FUNDS. On XXXX I had {$200.00} so I made a few purchases for the month from XXXX and XXXX. On XXXX my car payment hit that I forgot about through all the confusion ; this should have been the only INSUFFICIENT FUNDS FEE. Once again M & T placed this before all my XXXX purchases and I am facing another XXXX INSUFFICIENT FUNDS FEE or {$230.00}. The grand total since XXXX n they place the {$54.00} out of order starting this planned snowball effect will be {$340.00} for XXXX. Since I am on SS I keep track of every penny with XXXX and I did not do this. If M & T are going to jockey transactions around outside the normal bank ledger then they should provide the software to keep track.
