Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: This new collection account is being collected from a previously removed debt for a balance I do not owe and disputed. I disputed this debt prior to the collection agency reporting it to my credit and requested validation. They did not provide validation and reported it to my credit and only when I disputed with credit bureaus was the dispute honored. I do not owe this debt I have disputed it since being contacted by the original creditor and have maintained XXXX responsibility of the debt since day XXXX. This debt collection continues to try and basically extort the balance by holding my credit hostage with negative credit ratings. This item was removed from my credit previously and should be removed and remain off my credit in a disputed status as I am not responsible for the debt as there was never any exchange of goods or services. This collection agency is also collecting on a debt that is also being handled by an attorney based on the previous agency so the debt is being collected on XXXX and handled by multiple parties.

Consumer Complaint: I requested XXXX XXXX XXXX internet be installed in my apt around XX/XX/year>. A workman left after installing the internet and 2 rogue gentlemen showed up at my apt door to speak to me about switching to their wireless service, unannounced ( I didn't request any additional services from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I spoke to them about changing wireless carriers, ( which never occurred ) and I paid a fee for a new XXXX phone and XXXX watch. Approximately, 7-8 days later XXXX XXXX XXXX sent an XXXX watch to my fathers house, and a new phone to the same location, which arrived approximately 6-7 weeks later. That was not what I was told about the equipment/service and the cost was higher than I was told. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX who could not find my account, as well as the salesmen who came to my house. I received no assistance initially from either and I felt I was being duped. About 10 days after that, XXXX XXXX XXXX debited my account on XXXX individual occasions for these phone/watch/activation service fees, this caused numerous NSF fees. Several screaming calls to XXXX XXXX XXXX later, yielded a customer service representative who located my account, he claimed that my account wasn't labeled correctly and that's why none of the other representatives to locate it and he was able to refund some of my money. That customer service representative told me I was being debited continuously so that XXXX XXXX XXXX could get their money upfront and that the debits would continue. At that point, I sent back all of the equipment. I have the returned equipment receipts from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX I had to cancel that debit card to stop the repeated debiting. I do not owe XXXX XXXX XXXX any money for any services other than internet service which is current, I don't have or want their wireless service, cable service or any other services from them.

Consumer Complaint: I recently became a victim of identity theft, where someone fraudulently obtained and misused my personal documents. This unauthorized access has led to various consequences, impacting my financial and personal security. I'm taking immediate steps to address the situation, such as filing a police report, contacting credit bureaus to place fraud alerts, and updating passwords for increased security. It's a challenging situation, but I'm actively working to mitigate the effects and protect my identity moving forward
