Consumer Complaint: I went to the dealer, looking for a car ; I explained to the salesperson I was not working ; I just got a job, and he explained nothing to worry about. I was in the middle of a separation, and my vulnerable state made me believe in the right chooice. I never have the contract agreement or XXXX pages attached to this letter. I gave my XXXX savings when I found out the price was overcharge fees I disagreed with were added to the contract. I reached the dealer and claimed there was nothing he could do SINCE I could not understand why they gave me a loan when I barely could make money. I called GM last week, and the agent claimed GM couldn't release the credit application, which I believed was fabricated, for the sales since they never asked me for my tax or income records.

Consumer Complaint: I am currently leasing a XXXX XXXX through GM Financial and I am wanting to trade the vehicle in for another brand ( XXXX ). The salesperson at the XXXX XXXX XXXX dealership advised that I should be able to trade my vehicle to another non-GM dealership provided that the dealership is accepting of the purchase, which they are ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). When the XXXX dealership contact GM financial to obtain a payoff/purchase price of the XXXX, they. XXXX, were advised that their dealership could not purchase my XXXX, and that I would have to sell it directly to a XXXX XXXX if I wanted trade the vehicle in. If I were to do this, then the purchase agreement with XXXX would increase by approx. {$3000.00}, which I feel is unfair and would harm me financially. Additionally, I've read through my GM Lease contract, and even reviewed it with XXXX from GM financial, who referred me to line item 23e in the agreement and advised that although it does not specifically state that I can not trade my vehicle in to a non-GM dealership, they are requiring it due to the pandemic and to ensure that Gm dealerships get to benefit from acquiring GM products instead of non-GM. The contract terms in item 23e only indicate that if I wanted to purchase the vehicle outright it would be from a dealership designated by GM. There is no language for the situation of trade ins. Again, the XXXX dealership that I leased the vehicle through is also contradicting what GM Financial is telling me. I believe that this practice, since it is not explicit in the contract terms, is unfair, deceptive, and harmful to me financially by causing me to spend an additional/excessive amount by not allowing me to trade my vehicle into another non-GM dealership.

Consumer Complaint: GM Financial is repeatedly violating the FDCPA. GM Financial has reported debt on my accounts XXXX 's without ever contacting me first to notify me of the debts. Additionally, my debts were due to their system failures and deficiets in their customer service and billing departments, which makes their FDCPA violation more eggregious. Per the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPBs ) debt collection rules as of XX/XX/2021, debt collectors must take certain steps before reporting a debt to a credit reporting company. Before a debt collector can report your debt to a credit reporting company, the debt collector must do any one of the following : Speak with you in person about the debt, Speak with you by telephone about the debt, Mail you a letter about the debt and wait a reasonable amount of time ( generally 14 days ) for a notice that the letter wasnt delivered, or send you an electronic communication about the debt and wait a reasonable amount of time ( generally 14 days ) for a notice that the message wasnt delivered. Once the debt collector has followed the rules about how to contact you, then they can report your debt to a credit reporting company. Unfortunately, we received no notification of any kind that an alleged delinquency had occurred with accounts
