Consumer Complaint: My payment was due on XXXX and I attempted to login just a few days late to make a payment. But I was restricted from accessing the online portal. I was only 8 days past my due date. The only option was to make a payment by phone with a {$7.00} pay by phone fee. I refused to pay the fee when I was only 8 days past the due date. Today I received an email from GM Financial that said that my account is 25 days past due and to login to My Account to make a payment or for payment options. I clicked on the link in the email that they sent to me today and attempted to login. I received the same message at login that my account has been restrict from online access and to call. Again they want to charge me a phone fee to make my payment. If they would not have restricted my online profile or not charged a phone fee I would have already made this payment weeks ago. I feel that GM Financial is intentionally making hard on it customers that want to make payments on accounts that were less than 30 days past due. i have never been in a situation where a bank or lender intentionally makes it impossible to convientently makes payments on my accounts. Thank you for investigating this complaint with GM Financial.

Consumer Complaint: I mailed a letter dated XXXX/XXXX/16 to GM FINANCIAL requesting account verification/ validation for the account in dispute, documentary evidence of my indebtedness for all charges in which they claim I made late payments, documentary evidence of timely billing and timely posting of all payments from opening of account through the present whether or not they claim payment was late, court documentation verifying a repossession order was filed in any Indiana State court with regard to this account as GM FINANCIAL has reported this as a " Repossession '' on my credit record and also requested a notarized statement attesting to their compliance with all provisions of the Fair Credit Billing Act with respect to this account. To date, I have not received any information requested from this company with regard to this account. Return receipt shows " XXXX '' received my request by Certified mail. I have filed dispute with all XXXX major credit reporting agencies on at least three occasions previous to mailing a certified letter. I am awaiting removal of this negative account from my reports as GM FINANCIAL has failed to comply with the Fair Credit Billing and Fair Credit Reporting Acts in which they are obligated to do as required by law. I am asking for your assistance now since this has previously been disputed with GM FINANCIAL, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and I 've failed to have the account removed as of the current date. I have never had an account with GM FINANCIAL in the past or present. I have never had a repossession of a court order of repossession nor have I received by mail a letter of repossession or by delivery of a court civil process server.

Consumer Complaint: Previous CFPB complaint # XXXX. Previously I advised that I returned my lease for my XXXX Chevy Cruze XX/XX/2015. I returned 3 months early due to many recalls as well as transmission issues. ( I was already on XXXX transmission after only XXXX miles ) Previously the CFPB case I opened told me that my account was closed, and I was even issued a refund for a payment. I am now getting harassed stating that I owe GM {$1700.00} for returning my lease. WHY would I owe money, after they had issued ME a refund check. This is extortion for money that I do not owe, and was told I do not owe. Please refer to the letter I received in my prior CFPB case. I also tried to call the person that wrote that letter numerous times with no reply. Every time I call GM, I am told they will investigate, and I do not hear back, or I get passed around. I do not owe this money, and if GM continues to pursue it, or if my credit gets affected in any way, I will seek legal counsel.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX 2017, I canceled a service with XXXX XXXX which resulted in a refund of {$310.00}. Instead of returning the refund to me, XXXX XXXX returned the refund to GM Financial Services. I contacted GM Financial about how to handled this transaction. Because I have Auto Pay, GM Financial told me that they would ( XXXX ) cancel the Auto Pay for XXXX. ( 2 ) apply the {$310.00} as a refund, and ( 3 ) that I would only need to pay {$130.00}. I did exactly what GM Financial instructed me to do. However, the Auto Pay for {$450.00} for XXXX was still processed. This was devastating because I am retired and was in the process of paying my bills when I received a text from my financial institution that I had a low balance. When I looked at my account, I discovered that I had been double-charged by GM Financial. I knew that I was going to be hit with insufficient funds if I did n't do something quickly so rather than calling GM Financial, I called my financial institution to have the unapproved charge removed. They instantly did this but it cost me {$30.00}. I wrote a letter to GM Financial asking that they reimburse me for this fee because it was their error that I was charged an additional {$450.00}. I wrote a letter to GM Financial requesting a refund, but they never responded to my letter. Consequently, I called GM Financial Customer Service. The representative stated that they could not reimburse me because I did n't come to them to get a reimbursement. I am reaching out to you for help. If I had gone to GM Financial, their process would have been at least 3 days before the refund would have been applied to my account. By that time, I would have been hit with several " insufficient fees '' which is why I went directly to my financial institution. I would appreciate your help in this regards. I have had no many problems with this company, I feel like I am doing business with a second-rate lender.

Consumer Complaint: I am disputing GM Financial on my credit report I received notification from them that they did provide correct information to all three credit agencies for my payment record and my date for when the account first became delinquent. After reviewing my credit reports this was not true. The collection agencies have Re-aged this account and it is showing XX/XX/2014 as the last payment made. This does not match the date of my last payment to the original creditor. I am in the process of moving and this error is causing a problem with my credit report reporting properly.
