Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a new XXXX XXXX. I paid {$20000.00} down and financed {$10000.00}. I paid off the {$10000.00} and the check cleared my bank XX/XX/XXXX. I have made several requests trying to get the lien release sent to me so that I can register and title the car in my home state of MN with a free and clear title. The interest was paid in full and their records indicate XX/XX/XXXX. I have requested a XXXX balance letter and have been denied that as well. He placed another request for this today. I have made several calls to GM Financial and have been told as many different answers. Each time I speak with someone I am told something else.

( THEIR LOCATED IN XXXX ) I REPLIED VIA EMAIL TO THE SENDER ( XXXX XXXX ) IF WE COULD PAY {$300.00} NEXT FRIDAY XX/XX/XXXX ON HUSBANDS NEXT PAY BUT WAS NO REPONSE OR CALL BACK FROM HER OR ANYONE. I THEN ATTEMPTED TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS BUT MY HUSBAND HAD TO TAKE THE CHANCE OF BEING FIRED WHILE BEING ON HIS PHONE AT WORK TO CALL AND GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO DISCUSS THE ACCT WITH ME. WE HAD ALREADY SENT IN THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION REQUESTED BY GM TO BE AUTHORIZED TO SPEAK WITH ME BUT HIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE ISSUE EVERY TIME I'VE HAD TO CALL THEM. IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE DEFERMENT MY HUSBAND AGAIN HAD TO BE SPOKEN WITH TO GET A PIN NUMBER TO AGREE TO THE PROCESS AND WE WERE TOLD IT WAS {$52.00} TO FINALIZE THE AGREEMENT SO I USED XXXX XXXX AND DEBIT CARD TO PAY A TOTAL OF {$60.00}. MY HUSBAND LEFT FOR WORK THIS MORNING AT XXXX AND AROUND XXXX SURE ENOUGH XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WAS LOADING UP THE TRUCK. THE DRIVER WAS FRIENDLY BUT WAS GIVEN ORDERS TO COME GET HE TRUCK SO ONLY DOING HIS JOB IT WAS GM WHO DIDNT GET THE DOCUMENTS TO THE REPO COMPANY TO SEIZE THE REPO IN TIME SO NOW THEY SAID THE DEFERMENT NO LONGER IS AVAILIBLE AND TO GET THE TRUCK BACK WE NEED TO PAY {$1400.00}. MY HUSBAND JUST STARTED WORKING 10 HOURS A DAY AND WE HAVE XXXX DAUGHTERS XXXX AND XXXX WHO I NOW HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY ISSUE AS WELL AS I WAS DIAGNOESD WITH XXXX XXXX SO HAVE HAD TO SCHEDULE MY APPTS. Consumer Complaint: My father ( now XXXX ) has been leasing cars from XXXX XXXX XXXX sinceXX/XX/XXXX ) through XXXX XXXX XXXX through salesman XXXX My father is a retired XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX for 38 years. His lease began XX/XX/XXXX on a XXXX XXXX XXXX. He had direct withdrawals by GM Financial. In XX/XX/XXXX he was diagnosied with XXXX XXXX XXXX and Dr advised his to not drive. His vehicle sat in garage XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX,XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX while he continued to make payments and cover insurance. On XX/XX/XXXX he was put under XXXX care and the family was advised it would XXXX XXXX XXXX for my father. My father spoke with XXXX and advised him of his situation we were given two options, Keep making payments, or turn car in. We had a family member willing to take over car, but XXXX advised us my father would have to pay off lease of ( 16 months ) then he could sell the car to our step brother. There was no other option. XXXX advised us if we turned in the car my father would have to pay off the lease and upon his XXXX we could submit his XXXX XXXX and all payments he made after his XXXX would be returned if he XXXX before XX/XX/XXXX. My father had us return the car on XX/XX/XXXX to the dealership with a certified check overnight to GM Financial for 16 months payments totatling {$4400.00}. OnXX/XX/XXXX I spoke with GM Financial XXXX who advised me they needed a copy of XXXX XXXX and his file would be closed and he would be entitled to refund as the car had already been sold. I spoke with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX she advised me no documents had been received yet and to send the documents to her via email to XXXX attn : XXXX so account could be corrected and refund could be processed. On XX/XX/XXXX I called GM Financial to follow up, spoke with XXXX who stated the number that papers were originally faxed to was a number she didn't recognize and I needed to send copy of cancelled check and XXXX XXXX toXX/XX/XXXX, On XX/XX/XXXX called to check if papers received spoke with XXXX, who stated both numbers I was given were incorrect fax numbers and needed to refax documents to XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX spoke with XXXX she stated they did receive the XXXX XXXX and copy of check and now needed the Trust to advise who was executor/trustee successor. She also sent me to Loss/Recovery who referred me to Resolution dept. Got an answering machine, advised to leave my name and number and someone would call me back within 24 hours. To date never heard from them. on XX/XX/XXXX spoke with XXXX from loss/recovery stated copy of trust was unreadable and I needed to refax it to another number XXXX who transferred ; me to XXXX in resolution. Stated he needed to pull documents and would call me back within 24 hours, no return call. He gave me his extension of XXXX. I attempted to all him back on XX/XX/XXXX, that extension does not exist. I spoke with XXXX from resolution on XX/XX/XXXX who stated they had received trust that was readable, but stated car is still showing as being with my father, Car has not been grounded by dealership and I needed to call dealership to get car grounded. And stated we aren't entitled to refund as my father 's status is still active and he needed to make payments till XX/XX/XXXX. The dealership and all people I have spoken with have stated that once they receive the XXXX XXXX and monies owed by my father would be refunded, as he would no longer be obligated to make payments once he XXXX. He XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. The car was returned on XX/XX/XXXX. The car was grounded and sold with a mileage of XXXX. I contacted the dealership as I was the one with my husband that returned the car to the dealership onXX/XX/XXXX. At the time we were at the dealership XXXX attempted to contact GM Financial several times but got frustrated getting transferred around to people. He attempted to make a copy for us to take of the documents but his printer was not working, he wrote the mileage number down on an envelope and told us we could leave and he would follow up with GM later. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke with XXXX, who insisted he us a copy of the paperwork with the mileage on it and we would have to deal he had nothing to do with it anymore. That we would have to deal with GM Financial ourselves. If as the dealership and all employees have stated once my father XXXX he would no longer be required to make any payments and he XXXX in the same month car was returned and sold, he should be entitled to a refund for all payments made after his XXXX. My father was dealing with the fact of XXXX and wanted all his legal matters taken care of before his XXXX which is why he informed XXXX of his situation and XXXX gave him no other options than to pay the balance and return the car. When I spoke with XXXX at GM Financial he advised me that my father could have signed off of the lease and transferred the remaining time/payments to a family member but this option as not given to us by this dealership/salesman. It appears GM FInancial not only got paid for the sale of the car but also got 15 months of additional payments from my father. My brother is the Executor of the estate : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MI XXXX Trustee Successor : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MI XXXX Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX is reporting that I have paid my XX/XX/2018 lease payment 30 days late. They are showing the last payment dated XX/XX/2018. I made a payment for my XX/XX/2018 bill on XX/XX/2018. I have disputed this claim with them through XXXX XXXX and what they did was change the XX/XX/2018 status on my credit report to unknown which isn't even the month in dispute nor was that payment late or not paid. This is a false report since each months bill is and HAS been paid in full for the length of the lease.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX we purchased XXXX XXXX XXXX ( used ). GM Financial was the lender. XX/XX/XXXX Due to medical illness in the family, we returned the car to GM. XX/XX/XXXX After several telephone conversations, we received a letter from GM offering a settlement of {$3900.00} with monthly payments of {$330.00} a month until paid XX/XX/XXXX. We believe that we made these payments thru XXXX XXXX as they requested. XX/XX/XXXX we received an email from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX stating our payment schedule was completed and the account was disabled. XX/XX/XXXX we pulled our credit report and was surprised that GM Financial still reporting that we owed {$3900.00} and it was a charge off. We disputed this with the bureaus and they reported back that this amount was correct per GM Financial. After receiving the reports from the credit bureaus, I did contact GM Financial, they stated that we still owed the balance, but offered another settlement for {$1500.00}. I requested a copy of my account to see the transactions that they posted. No paperwork was ever received by us. We have lived at the same address since XX/XX/XXXX, where they picked up the auto. We also have the same phone number XX/XX/XXXX contacted XXXX XXXX, XXXX of Washington to assist us with this matter to get it resolved. She directed us to contact GM Financial and request again for our activity on our account. XX/XX/XXXX We are disgusted with GM Financial and have started to keep notes on our calls. On this date I was on the phone with them for 1.5 hours being transferred back and forth between Loss recovery and Customer Service. They finally asked me to call back the next day, as they could not find or give me any information. XX/XX/XXXX I called GM Financial back. I was informed that I had not made my payments as agreed. Requested copies again of my payment record. Was told that they would be sent to me within 2 weeks. They offered me a settlement of {$1800.00} this time. Seeing as I know I made payments, I stated I first needed copy of my record. XX/XX/XXXX Nothing has been received from GM.Called GM, they stated that they would re-order the payment record to be sent to me by mail.. Again, I would be 2 weeks. My mailing address was confirmed with them. I was also informed that the {$1800.00} settlement was only good for 24 hours on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX Called GM as no paperwork has been received, GM stated it would go out XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX Called GM as no mail has been received from GM. They stated they would fax and I should receive within 48 hours. XX/XX/XXXX Called GM as no fax or mail has been received. Was informed that our file was sent to XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I was given a contact number for XXXX XXXX and they could not locate any account for me. Called GM back once again and they stated they would call XXXX XXXX and call me back within 24 hours with the needed information.. As of today. XX/XX/XXXX I have not received any phone call, mail or fax. We are so frustrated as we want to clear our credit so we can purchase a home. This credit score also affects us in other financial items. We appreciate any assistance that you can obtain for us.

Consumer Complaint: I was not denied credit. Instead, I was offered credit at less favorable terms. When I inquired as to what credit reporting agencies were used, what the actual terms were, and where my risk based pricing notice were, I was told the grantor refused to provide any of it, and I must go to a third party dealer for the information.

Consumer Complaint: The company was having issues with their system so all payments had to be mailed in and they said that they would not count any payments as late because of their system issues. There is now a late payment on my report and its stopping me from buying a home. This is not fair and is in violation of my rights as a consumer. I did what they said and this is not fair that they did not keep their word.
