Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Notification didn't disclose it was an attempt to collect a debt
Consumer Complaint: I had a 2012 XXXX XXXX financed by XXXX XXXX the car was total out, my insurance company paid which I thought they were responsible for paying the car off. I was total there was a charge off amount of XXXX owe on the car. I car XXXX XXXX and when into a payment plan to pay off the XXXX which I paid the amount off. The problem is if XXXX XXXX accept the payments for the charge off. Why on all my credit reports the charge off amount of XXXX still shows when they accepted the payments. So the debt would be paid if full which it was. I understand the late payments showing but if the company agrees the accept payments to fulfilled a debt how can it be a charge off.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madam, on XX/XX/2018 I paid to GM Financial in full the lease end fees. Since then they have been trying to collect the fees again even after I sent them the copy of the cashed check to them. It has been five months since I paid the fees. Every month they are sending me billing invoice and every month I have been sending them the copy of the cashed check and an explanation letter. I don't see an end to this constant harassment so I am hoping you can help me with this matter. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2018, is the date stated on my credit report as an inquiry for an autoloan. I did not submit an application to XXXX. When the customer service department was contacted on XX/XX/18 to dispute the inquiry, I was given an excuse as to why it could not be deleted. I tried another time on XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX, who advised me to contact the company and the same resolution was given. My car was financed with XXXX XXXX and not XXXX XXXX. I do not have an open account with the company at all.

Consumer Complaint: I am always on top of my payments so you can imagine how shocked I was while reviewing my credit report and saw a 30 late payment on it. I have no idea how this could have happened. Whenever the statements come, I make sure to pay them right away. My only thought is that the statement never got to me.

Consumer Complaint: I leased a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX New Mexico on XX/XX/XXXX ( Account Number XXXX ). For Business reason, I moved the car back to Illinois and had a very difficult time getting the paperwork required to license the vehicle in Illinois. In fact this took 5 months from XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX and a finally involving supervisor from XXXX XXXX to complete the task. I pre-paid my lease and because of time delay from lease paperwork transfer to Illinois, turned in my lease with XXXX out or a lease term of XXXX miles on XX/XX/XXXX. After turning in the vehicle, I received a bill from XXXX XXXX for {$390.00} because I did not purchase or lease another GM product at the end of the lease. After a lengthy discussion this was reduced to {$100.00} but XXXX XXXX did not immediately send the updated invoice. I noticed on my credit score that changed for the negative and that XXXX XXXX now had put that I had an open unpaid balance of {$420.00} since XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately paid the {$420.00} balance so that my credit score would not suffer and contacted XXXX XXXX about this and to get my {$320.00} refund. XXXX XXXX still has XXXX balance at {$420.00} on XXXX. Even though XXXX XXXX said they would send my refund - they still have not done so.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I received an alert from a credit monitoring service that my score had dropped due to an account change. I logged in and saw that GM Financial had reported my payments for XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX as 30 days late. Reported nothing XX/XX/XXXX than reported me 60 days late in XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately contacted GM Financial to report that when I log into their payment system, it showed my account has having a balance due of { {$0.00} } The only time it would show a balance due was towards the end of the month. I made the payments at that time and then they were considered 'late '. GM Financial customer service stated on XX/XX/XXXX : This is a site issue that we are aware of and our web designers are in the process of updating the system to get it corrected. There are also articles online where GM Financial admits having issues with their payment system when they upgraded in XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke with customer service both on the online chat and over the phone to explain my situation and have my account updated to show that the payments were not late due to an error on their end in their system. Even though they admitted they are having system issues, they said they will not do anything since they only have the date when my payment was received. I am being punished with late marks on my credit report even though their payment system has an acknowledged and admitted error. I want the late payment removed, this is affecting me purchasing my home

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: This is not a duplicate I purchased a vehicle from XXXX XXXX in XXXX, PA on XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, my lender ( GM Financial ) did not received the title on this vehicle and I have not been able to register or drive it. We received the registration in XXXX. However, XXXX XXXX have not held up it end of the bargain as far as getting the check engine problem fixed and he provided a receipt of " we owe. '' After we filed a complaint with consumer complaint he went into action. On XX/XX/XXXX he called and agreed to take a look at why check engine light was on for 3 months. He told me to take it to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I took the vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX. I left my vehicle and my witness came to pick me up. I kept in contact with XXXX the owner of XXXX XXXX he assured me he was going to fix the check engine and check on the issue. I communicated with XXXX daily, when it was time to pick up my car XXXX also said I have a massive leak in the front of the engine. On the XX/XX/XXXX I picked up my vehicle with an attachment of a nightmare, because XXXX tried to charge me {$55.00} for maintenance. When I refused, he said was not releasing my vehicle. My witness and I had to call the police to get my vehicle back, as well as call XXXX. When I contacted XXXX, he communicated with XXXX to release the car and he will pay for everything. He also stated he will investigate and take care of why the check engine like is staying on. After this ordeal it has been very difficult to get in contact with XXXX. He has been giving me the run around. And nothing has been resolved. I contacted him today and he stated he would fix the problem. I believe it is too late. As of XX/XX/XXXX I had to tow my car to his dealership, because I was informed that my car died. I have a warranty that is not helpful and a dealership who sold me a vehicle that stop working after 3 1/2 to 4 month. And I know is a law against that, I am not sure where to start. Hopefully your agency can lead the way. I want to continue be proactive in my complaint filing. I have now found the dealership and I drove the car to the location with a promise he would provide a loaner. I drove an hour to his location and no vehicle was provided. I am paying for a vehicle I can not drive. Because it was faulty and dangerous. I almost died, because my vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. And with my belief system in XXXX who sold me the car to drive. And he assured me it was going to be okay. It left me stranded for 3 hours. After I got my vehicle back after a month. When he returned my car on XX/XX/XXXX, my key fob was damaged. He had me take it to XXXX to get is diagnosed and it was the shifter out of place. Because it was so expensive, he didn't want to get it fixed there. So, he agreed he would get his mechanic to fix it, it is now XX/XX/XXXX and the battery light is on and my car make a loud screeching noise. This was my first car and I have been hoodwinked. He had I regret I buying a vehicle from this establishment. If you do, you will be stuck paying a car note on a Lemon. And my car will night pass inspection in XXXX. Every time I get my car back within days it breaks down again. And I back to chasing XXXX to keep up with his promise in writing that he will fix my car. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and he still has my vehicle. I had 12 tow incident from XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and my vehicle is still being held by XXXX XXXX. He said he is getting the vehicle fixed and he has not be communicative. I reached out to him on Friday XX/XX/XXXX. And he has not responded. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and I am still without a vehicle. And I am afraid he will not fix the vehicle correctly. At this point I am in fear of driving the vehicle if he doesnt fix the oil leak correctly and the alternator belt along with th shifter. As of now the vehicle is now down again. And the warranty that came with the vehicle is not valid. The issue is still ongoing. And I dont believe it will change. The vehicle is still with the dealer. And I am not getting any resolution. As of today I am still without a vehicle it is XX/XX/XXXX. He is doing patchwork on the vehicle instead of getting it fixed correctly. I need to be pointed in the right direction. I want this issue resolved. He constantly make promises he doesnt keep. His business should be cited. His practices and ethics are incorrigible. I received a violation on the XX/XX/XXXX on my vehicle and I didnt have possession of my vehicle. I no longer want to do business with him or should I be responsible for a loan. I have approach him on several occasions. I am losing money due to the horrific experience with this vehicle. It is hard to make ends meet. I am losing a lot of money, I travel for work and without a vehicle I have not been able to get to my jobs. I dropped off my vehicle on XX/XX/XXXX to get serviced. I was provided with a loaner. However, the loaner need oils, and the engine needs to be serviced. It has been a month and my vehicle has not been worked on. Is there anyway I can get out of the vehicle, it has not been operable for a almost year. I am absolutely terrified to drive the vehicle, it has been time that he claimed he fixed my vehicle and it would break down in the middle of the road and it leaves me in dangerous situations when I travel with my vehicle. I get XXXX XXXX not knowing what will happen when I get my vehicle back. The oil leak, shifter and and engine issues, still has not been addressed. I have written proof starting my vehicle has been completely fixed. And when it is returned it still has issues. I dont trust this vehicle, I am afraid to drive it. My loan is with GM Financial Acct. # XXXX. I want to get out from under this untenable situation but do not want to end up with a repossession on my credit file. I want to be released from the loan, without a repossession. And I dont want it to show up for as a reposession. I want to be reimbursed for all my car payments and my XXXX beetle that I paid {$7000.00} for and they only took the trade for {$2000.00}. And also for lost wages at work which was XXXX. I used vehicle for work. I am a XXXX XXXXXXXX and I need a consistent running vehicle. This vehicle has been a night mare. He keeps giving me broken promises in writing and they are not getting fulfilled. It has impacted my finances and XXXX XXXX of my car constantly breaking down. I would like to sue for loss wages and XXXX XXXX. And plus the value of the car {$16000.00}.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I discovered in XX/XX/2018 I was reported as having missed a payment in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2018 on my leased vehicle through GM Financial. I had automatic payments set up through the GM financial website. I verified through my bank statements that I made my payments on time. I went on the GM website and discovered that my XX/XX/XXXX statement was not on their website and was the only month missing. I looked at my payment screen and it showed my account had no past due amounts. I contacted GM financial multiple times and they stated I owed back taxes from where I previously lived in Virginia. However there was no XX/XX/XXXX statement to reflect this and their website ( payment screen ) didn't reflect I owed any taxes. So I was not aware of this until I inquired about the matter in XX/XX/XXXX. The customer service agent for GM financial stated they could place a corrective letter to my credit report. This matter has still not been resolved as of XX/XX/XXXX. I feel it's unfair to penalize me for payments I was not aware of and from a statement that doesn't exist on their site. These are the only negative remarks on my credit and dropped it 70 points. I would like GM financial to honor their word that they would fix my credit, update their website to reflect what I truly owe in a timely manner, and maintain all of my monthly statements.
