Consumer Complaint: After missing payments before COVid-19 and then being told not to make payments during the pandemic because of the state the country was in. After returning to making payments the company XXXX XXXX XXXX or XXXX ) sets higher payments and know you cant afford or make them ( the called them promised payments or payment arrangements ). They dont offer deferred payments something not mentioned when purchasing the car. They also constant threaten you with repossession. Picking the car up several times during the year to try and force you to make payments. Payments are not applied to the principal. Almost done with the loan and still owe more than half of it. They constantly harass you from XXXX to XXXX everyday by call multiple times even when you have spoken to someone already. I feel my complaint is similar to the New York class action lawsuit. The company is abusive and predatory lender. My credit report and score is worse since borrowing from this company because of how it reports its late payments and information. I consider myself a hard working XXXX whom is being taken advantage of because of my circumstances

Consumer Complaint: Vehicle loan company, credit acceptance, shows a foreclosure ( voluntary repossession ) every month for roughly two years on my XXXX report ( as current as XX/XX/XXXX. ) The vehicle was supposedly sold at auction in XXXX. I paid the debt in full XX/XX/XXXX. Their reporting is inaccurate as the vehicle could not have been repossessed or re-attained by me as it was sold at auction in XXXX by credit acceptance. I have tried several times to dispute this with both the creditor and credit reporting agency.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Problem after you declared or threatened to declare bankruptcy
Consumer Complaint: I just found out from doing a case search on myself that Credit Acceptance reopened a judgement from XX/XX/XXXX that was closed. Although I dont understand much of the case text, it appears the initial filing was XX/XX/XXXX, but shows a bankruptcy entry XX/XX/XXXX. Then on XX/XX/XXXX they sought garnishment & on XX/XX/XXXX there was a confession of assets. I know without a doubt I was never served any court notices, I absolutely didnt report or have any assets to report & the address they have on the reopened court record I left XXXX of XXXX. I did not have a stable address until XX/XX/XXXX. To my knowledge this is the result of a co-owned vehicle in which the other owner decided to take and would not give me knowledge of its whereabouts. I spoke to Credit Acceptance & told them what the co-owner had done in addition to me finding out he was filing bankruptcy. They informed me that the vehicle hadnt been paid on for over 3 months & the XXXX alerted them that it was uninsured. I asked if I was able to get the vehicle back could I try to make a payment arrangement and Id insure it. They only told me to recover the vehicle from him & involve the police if need be and at that point theyd help me resolve the balance & make future payments. XXXX days after I was able to recover the vehicle ( it wound up in my parking pad, no tags, title or registration & XXXX key in the seat ) it was repossessed. I had immediately called them to tell them I was in possession of the vehicle & asked about them helping me. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude, told me I was lying and shed have to talk to a supervisor and get back to me. The vehicle was gone and I never received a call back until days after they took it. At that point I was told that I couldve made a {$50.00} payment & began getting on track, but there wasnt an option to do anything now that itd been repossessed & ultimately Id still be responsible for the remaining balance. To my knowledge the vehicle sold at auction for a decent price and because of the down payment & prior payments made there was about {$3000.00} possibly less, I cant remember the exact figures, but it wasnt anywhere near the {$6500.00} judgement against me. When loan obtained in XX/XX/XXXX the sticker price was under {$10000.00}, leaving under {$7000.00} after the the down payment. At least thats what I thought & was explained at the dealership, but depending on which person from Credit Acceptance you were able to get on the line ( NEVER THE SAME & APPARENTLY NOTES WERE NOT CONSISTENTLY PUT INTO THEIR SYSTEM ) you would get different numbers, scenarios or blatant disrespect & disregard for you as a customer let alone human being. I have serious concerns for myself & if dealing with this company because I feel they are deceptive & believe they may of very well falsified documents & information in order to effectively get a judgment against me that I happened to find on my own.
