Consumer Complaint: The contract is fraud. I want to see the original contract and not a retail installment contract. Credit Acceptance corporation made subprime auto loans to Ohio consumers even though it knew the customers would be unable to pay, in violation of Ohio state law. Credit acceptance corporation company charged illegal fees, overcharged customers for deficiencies, and engaged in illegal debt collection practices.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I recently received a response to a dispute that I made under FCRA 611a regarding questionable and inaccurate items ( s ) around XX/XX/2023, on my credit report. I was confused when I learned you somehow " verified '' the disputed items, and they are still on my credit report. Can you confirm how this investigation was conducted and what the MOV was that was used? I am not disputing this again ; I'm specifically asking for the method of verification for the below. As you know, in Cushman v TransUnion, Stevenson v. TRW ( XXXX ), and Richardson v. Fleet ( XXXX ), the courts ruled each and every time that the CRA couldn't merely " parrot '' data from the creditors and collection agencies ... that were required to conduct an independent REASONABLE investigation to ensure the validity of the debt and the integrity of the creditor and collection agency in question. Sending out a generic form through the XXXX system for the dispute is not reasonable! Please FULLY validate with details on how you verified this ( names of people you spoke with and contact numbers ). If you are unable to do so, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT off my credit report forever, or I will gladly escalate to the CFPB and have my consumer protection attorney file court proceedings. Thank you and I sincerely look forward to your response.

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance continually has my account showing the incorrect amount due. I owe {$820.00}. They claim the current balance due is {$1300.00}. That would me I am 2 months behind, which is incorrect. Also, they are not reporting a reduction in balance to the credit bureaus. The balance is showing -1 % paid off. That means they are pocketing my money and not applying it to my vehicle. When I request to have all communications in writing, they refuse. And provide no contact information other than a phone number.

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I woke up and seen that my XXXX XXXX XXXX was missing. My heart dropped because I had a car stolen from my house before. I called the police and reported it stolen. Later that day, the XXXX police told me that my truck has been repossessed. I brought the truck on XX/XX/XXXX from the XXXX XXXX Police auto auction. I paid for it in full and have a clean and clear title. Since they took the truck on XXXX XXXX weekend, I had to wait until that Tuesday to find out what happened to my truck. The tow company told me that the truck was repossessed by Credit Acceptance. I called Credit Acceptance and they told me to send in my title and bill of sale, and they should release the truck in 24-48 hours. I called back in after 48 hours, and was told that they were still investigating. Finally on the XXXX of XXXX, they said I could have my truck back. I told them I had no way of getting it since it was towed out of state. After numerous calls, they agreed to tow my truck back on XX/XX/XXXX. My truck came back with a rip in the front seat. All my families ' belonging thrown together in a big bag. I called Credit Acceptance to see how they were going to remedy this saturation. They told me I had to have a before picture of the seat, which I do not have. I think most people do not keep before and after pictures of their car seats. They are not telling me what they are going to do about me missing work or the car rental I had to do to take my mother to the doctor. I can get the car rental agreement, but the picture of seat or my work information should not be my burden for their mistake.
