Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2020 I purchased a vehicle after barely reaching a XXXX credit score for the first time in my life. The loan company, credit Acceptance Corp., said the payments I could afford but that was the farthest from the truth. When they put in the papers to sue me I answered with the fact I knew that gave me a loan I couldn't afford and as an admission of guilt in my eyes automatically offered me 80 % off. They have been sued all over thus country for doing exactly what I claim they did at the time. Even if I could pay it off the damage there done to my credit may never be fixable

Consumer Complaint: I surrendered the vehicle to credit acceptance after I could no longer for the payments after making payments for 6 months on time. Of course they said it was repossessed which is fine. I get it but they say they sold it for {$4000.00} at auction and I have a {$10000.00} balance which is ridiculous and my credit is in shambles because they put me into a long way bigger than I could afford and they knew it.

Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance corporation ordered scam tow companies to illegally search and seize my vehicles. Credit acceptance corporation superseded rule of law and XXXX XXXX XXXX by seizing the vehicles without first obtaining the writ of execution to submit to XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit acceptance corporation was supposed to fill out OS/SS-99 ( R8/15 ) instructions for default security agreement and OS/SS-55 ( R8/15 ) notice of seizure of motor vehicle with the writ of execution attached and send it over to the repossession and title department in XXXX XXXX XXXX but did not. They are engaging in vin switching/cloning, stolen car scam and salvage switch. They couldnt get a title for my vehicle so they got a title in New York. I have all of their strategies, tactics and methods. I want to sue them and I will give you all the information you need on credit acceptance corporation. No court decided a contract between myself and credit acceptance corporation to be enforceable. Credit acceptance took advantage of me like they are doing everybody in the low income community. But I have their methods. The attorney general here already started suits against them for deceptive practicing, unlawful repossession and amongst other things. Credit acceptance corporation not acting alone, it is also the tow companies and the auto auctions.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I went to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( now closed permanently ) to purchase a used car that I saw on their website. The car was advertised for {$12000.00}. I went to the dealership with a down payment of {$2000.00} with the impression that after taxes, dealer fee, and registration fees my total payments owed will be no more than {$15000.00}. The dealer or owner Mo did the whole transaction with me which was all rushed never gave me the time to look over the contract or the finance agreement. He ended up giving me contract with a 22.99 % APR, charging {$8800.00} finance charge ( that is NOT on the itemized bill that I signed ), with a loan term of 60 months with monthly payments of {$350.00}. ( obviously the numbers just doesn't make any sense ). There is no explanation of where the finance charge is coming from on the contracts. I left the dealer ship that with a XXXX XXXX XXXX. One week later on a trip from XXXX XXXX to XXXX NY the car broke down on the highway and I had to get a tow company to tow the vehicle to a local shop. I called the dealership the next day and told them exactly what happened they agreed to cover the cost of getting the vehicle back to XXXX to their mechanic however, that did not help me in getting back to XXXX. There was no communication from the dealership in regards to when I will get back the car or IF I will be getting back the car. I had to keep reaching out to them for the several days during this time, with no transportation to work. After 4 months of getting mechanically unfit cars to use from a rental company they worked with ; XXXX XXXX XXXX decided finally take the time out to get me into another car as the XXXX XXXX had a bad engine and they were " waiting for XXXX to approve a warranty replacement ''. In what I thought would be a fair negotiation he ended up giving me another contract XXXX XXXX, XXXX for a XXXX XXXX XXXX with an APR of 22.99 %, FINANCE CHARGE of {$9700.00}, car value of XXXX, and term of 66 months. With " lower '' payments of {$330.00}

Consumer Complaint: One they always charge me more for my payment and when I pay it they would only take a little off my loan and say I still owed more on it and charge late fees when I paid on time and when I asked them why they have me reported as missing my payments or late payments they told me that they don't deal with that it's another department that does.
