Consumer Complaint: After my last complaint against Credit Acceptance, I was able to enter the Covid Relief Protection plan. The plan stated that I would have 90 days where I would not have to pay anything so that I could get back on track. After the 90 day mark was up, I would have to pay the original amount of the monthly payment each month, within a 30 day timeframe. In other words, once I started paying the loan back XXXX XXXX ) I would have between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, without consequence, to make the payment. If I continued to make the payment as instructed, I would be allowed to stay on the plan. The plan does not stipulate that I need to make a payment arrangement and it does not say that I need to pay for any amount of the loan that is already in delinquent status while on the program. In XXXX, I began making the payments as instructed. Each month after the payment was made, I began getting up to 10 calls a day telling me that I needed to enter into a payment arrangement. When I informed the agent that I was on the Covid Relief plan, I was told that even though I was I needed to enter a payment arrangement to 1. get the delinquent amount caught up and 2 to make sure that I am paying " on time '' or I will continue to get calls. I was not informed that the company would continue to mark my credit as 120 days or more past due. When you read the guidelines of the Covid Relief plan on their website, this is in total disregard to what the plan actually stipulates. I need assistance with getting this corrected. I am doing the best that I can, yet I am still being harassed, and I am still suffering under this company.

'' Mr. XXXX responded in the bottom portion of the letter " At this time, we have nothing to suggest that this account does not belong to you. Should you have any documentation that would be helpful to our investigation, we would be happy to review it and investigate further. That being said, we have made a business decision to close your account and you are no longer responsible for the remaining balance. The company then goes back and contradict everything they wrote in black and white and put this account back on my credit report on XX/XX/2021. A month later.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted credit acceptance last month before my payment was due and explained that I needed to see if I could forward my payment to the end of the payments due to me not receiving my check last month. They told me I could instead pay them {$30.00} fee and they will extend out the payment over next three months after they told me they can not let that payment go to the end. I am in a forbearance with my mortgage already due to COVID and I explained that too them I paid the XXXX dollars and this month I have yet to receive last months due check and now have not received this months check as I have tried to correct this error I had to call credit acceptance again and explain that for the second time now Im last year and a half I have not received my check that I needed an extension or something. They told me not available and that my name and number will be put on the call list. Every day except Sundays for the last two weeks they call with an automatic system four and five times a day leave one message and keep on calling. I asked them to put a check on that since its a bit repetitive and they said they can not control who and when the machine calls out on debts owed. I said well that is a problem and illegal that once a week is more like a reasonable calling pattern. It still goes on four and five times a day. I have a call log on my phone showing times and lengths of messages. Its a bit to much. First you dont want to help out then when I do need a bit of peace and quite I get hounded by a machine calling me several times a day. I am done. I will pay as soon as my check clears my bank and I have actual funds to pay with instead of writing a bad check that cost me even more. As I am writing this they are even calling.

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance is reporting late notations on my credit file for XX/XX/21, XX/XX/21, XX/XX/21 that need to be removed. Due to Covid, I lost some work that I relied on financially, and that really impacted me. I have an account with them for my auto loan and due to Covid, I called in to see what I could do because I was having some trouble paying the full amount. When I called they told me that I could have a payment arrangement set up for my hardship that would lower my payment by XXXX. I thought that was great until I looked at my credit. They never told me that with this arrangement, my account would be delinquent due to lesser payment, If I had known that I would have late payments, I would have never made that payment arrangement, I would have found a way to pay the full amount instead. So now I am screwed because the rep failed to explain the details of this arrangement. Upon finding out I paid it to bring the account up to date and am now making my full payment instead so it wasn't much of a help.

Consumer Complaint: I financed a car back in XXXX with Credit Acceptance Corporation. I called and got a payoff amount and the physical address to send the check to because I had secured refinancing through my credit union. I obtained a payoff amount for {$6400.00} on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. My back mailed a check for {$6500.00} plus dollars on XX/XX/XXXX, which was right in the the 10 day payoff period. The checked was cashed on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a call from a young lady from Credit Acceptance Corporation in XXXX, MI who identified herself as an operations manager. She asked me was it a mistake that a check was sent for that amount. I replied no stating that was the payment amount and they the loan had been picked up by my credit union. She then told me that the payoff amount was incorrect and I owed {$4000.00} more dollars. I explained to her that I had the paperwork from Credit Acceptance with the payoff amount on it. I insisted on giving her my credit union 's number but she said that she could not speak with them and she could only speak to me, which sounded very strange. Can you please look into this matter because they seem to have some subpar business practices.

Consumer Complaint: Okay I want to start by saying I don't understand why this agency consumer finance do not take more legal action against Credit Acceptance they have to have numerous complaints against this company because they deliberately tried to destroy people Credit and report false information on people 's credit report, the lawsuits about this company is horrifying lawsuit on top of lawsuit why is this company still being able to remain open this is horrible I had a car with these people back in 2019 it was totaled I paid on it for a whole year prior insurance paid the value of it I'm not paying them anymore money they keep adding to the balance on my credit report and I feel that it's illegal to keep adding to a balance and you know longer possess their property I thought that this agency handling this was more affiliated with Washington because I just don't think that this agency consumer financing bureau can really do much, all the years that these people have taken advantage of the public something needs to be done to this company to be shut down I want to really take this to Washington because it's apparent something is not getting through, this can't be possibly be right to be treating customers like this and you are still open you can barely find a positive review on these people this is really bad and I'm sick of them posting slight increase after increase on my credit report I have found so many complaints against this company and nothing has been done it's falling on deaf ears upon investigation they have been sued a million times civil lawsuits everything you can possibly imagine and they still remain open something is not getting through to shut this company down after I submit this I want to go to a higher authority because the proper help is not being done against them, this should be against the law to treat consumers like this and for the life of me I'm going to keep posting and posting until something is done about this someone has to stand up against this harassment
