Consumer Complaint: The company Credit Acceptance Corporation charged off my account in XXXX of XXXX and reported it as a charge off/ collection for 4 years. Then in XXXX of XXXX started reporting it again monthly as an open account thats 180 days late every month since then. Theyre doing just to keep my credit score suppressed which is illegal. The account was closed and had no activity, payments, anything. It shouldnt have been reported as an open account after it was closed. I have since settled this debt with the company and want the deragotory information removed from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: My vehicle loan with Credit Acceptance Corporation became delinquent in XXXX. They charged off the account in XX/XX/XXXX and continued to report charge off account for XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX of XXXX. They changed the account from charge off status to delinquent in XX/XX/XXXX. The vehicle is inoperable however to work on improving my credit I began making payments on the account after the charge off. The account is reporting past due over {$8500.00} with a balance due of {$9000.00}. CAC reporting strategy is causing me to show as if I have an account that is open and seriously past due. Lenders are more likely to work with you if there is a charge off account that you are paying down verse an account reporting as open and over 150 days past due. The account had been charged off and should remain in that status. I am curious to know if CAC took advantage of tax benefits from charging off the account. I believe this is a deliberate act to further damage their customer 's credit when they default on a loan. I am also not in agreement with the way that they allow you to make a payment arrangement but will not update the credit reporting to reflect the payment arrangement. When you call to speak with their customer service representatives they do not seem to be able to help you beyond making a payment.

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance ( CAC ) has levied hidden charges that added 37 percent to 68 percent to loans for customers including me, with low credit scores. After closing my account, and aggressive calling to pay a debt owed on a vehicle that is reported stolen and no longer in my possession, Credit Acceptance till this day preys on me and many pandemic related consumers. Credit Acceptance requires many borrowers to buy vehicle service contracts that added, on average, {$2500.00} to their loans. Credit Acceptance 's policy is to call consumers on debts and default loans almost eight times a day to try to collect. They have called me repeatedly in the wee hours of the morning. In addition to high costs and aggressive collection practices, Credit Acceptance has also been big in repossessions, repossessing cars in 45 percent of the loans. When Credit Acceptance repossesses a car, the borrower must continue to pay the amount owed. That can include payments on a vehicle service agreement the borrower can no longer benefit from, illegal lending and collection practices that are predatory and illegal in several states, and harmful credit damages to many consumers across the nation. Credit Acceptance has also raised debts for non payment thru illegal practices and policy ( including myself ) while targeting consumers with high interest rates and devastating " lawsuits '' or anything in relation to debts, loans and destroying the consumers credit thru illegal collection practices. XXXX an CFPB need to bring Credit Acceptance to light.

In spite of them giving me a payment plan, and I paid all my bills as discussed, I paid on time. Ive tried to dispute with them but they offer no resolution. I was informed the person who opened the account fraudulently called to take full responsibility and yet no resolution. Consumer Complaint: I have sent several letters via certified mail to Credit Acceptance, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX regarding a Car Repossession listed on my credit report. I have disputed the account for unfair and inaccurate reporting numerous times to no avail. I have also asked for the method of validation of these inaccuracies from all three credit bureaus only to be sent their computer generated verified as accurate letter from XXXX, XXXX and XXXX The account still to date has inconsistencies reporting to all three major credit bureaus. For instance, on XXXX the last pay listed as XX/XX/XXXX. Same account via XXXX last pay listed as XX/XX/XXXX. And XXXX last payment date is unknown. The account was previously listed as closed with no known updates since XXXX of XXXX. That is until XXXX updated payment history on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX with 20+ late payments as well as XXXX dating back to original close date. I also noticed that each month from XX/XX/XXXX until now XX/XX/XXXX Credit Acceptance has been continuously updating the balance each month and accruing interest on said closed account. According to my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX the balance was {$13000.00} as of today XX/XX/XXXX the balance is {$15000.00}. Thats a difference of {$2400.00} in interest on a closed account in repossessed status. I find this to be not only illegal but unethical on Credit Acceptances behalf. I also find that all three bureaus are blatantly refusing to uphold the laws set forth by the FCRA for continuing reporting this false information. From my understanding Credit Acceptance is already involved in lawsuits and litigations by several other previous clients for these exact practices amongst other unfair account handlings. I am requesting that Credit Acceptance, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX remove this erroneous information from my credit report and that it also not be reinserted onto any of my credit reportings at a later date.
