Consumer Complaint: I co-signed on a loan with Credit Acceptance for my ex-husband, he got into an accident with that car loan and the car was fully covered by insurance company so it should have paid off the loan. My husband and I separated and I found out years later that the loan company only paid everything but one payment. Since they were unable to locate my husband they charged off the account, then they located me years later and has been reporting as open and late payments years later. I agreed to pay off loan with them marking account paid as agreed on my credit. I sent certified letter for this and spoke with someone on XX/XX/2023 and XX/XX/2023 when I made final payment agreeing that they received the letter and would mark account as paid as agreed. There are also several inaccuries being reported on my credit with this car company and this has been reported to all 3 major credit bureaus. This is still listing with an open balance of {$390.00} to spite it being paid on the XX/XX/2023 and all late payments are still reflecting. Every time I contact Credit Acceptance they state they will remove them and they are still not removed.
