Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: This truck I purchased this truck from XXXX XXXX through credit acceptance it had horrible significant damages prior and that never discussed about when I clearly asked about trucks car fax and any prior damages or work done. I cash put down technically is way more than the value of the truck. They truck is dangerously possibly unfixable. They sold me the truck with an extravagantly large crack along the entire frame. The crack was covered by paint and covered by a half done fast weld. This truck could have hurt me and my family significantly. Should have never been sold

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I went to : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Texas XXXX I was not allowed to see any of the cars except the car that was sold to me, a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I had requested buying a car that the payment would be under $ XXXXmonthly because I am on a fixed income. I was told that I could afford that car which was $ XXXXmonthly and that was the car they sold to me. The finance person, XXXX XXXX, became angry when I asked how much the finance charge would be. and the payments. He didn't want to be interrupted while having me sign the paperwork. Two days later I tried to return the car because of the high monthly payment, the high interest rate, and the car started having mechanical problems the 2nd day I had the car. The manager, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) told me I could not return the car 2 days after buying it, because it was a binding contract. I had gone to an outside XXXX certified mechanic shop on day 3 when the steering wheel started shaking and vibrating on day 2 of ownership. I paid {$60.00} for a diagnostic test and XXXX XXXX gave me an immediate list of things needing repairs and totaling {$3100.00}. XXXX XXXX said I bought the car as is and said " She wasn't going to step on the toes of her mechanics '' who gave their clean bill of record on the mechanics of the car. I found out later that they have a 30 day policy to fix needed repairs during the 1st 30 days of ownership. They hid this information from me. The only thing on the list that they repaired was grinding down or resurfacing the brake rotors. I just found out last week in XXXX, XXXX, one year later, that the first 2 years of payments go 100 % to interest, nothing to principal. So, I paid them approximately {$6000.00} in interest this past year on a finance of $ XXXX.If I pay them another year, I will have paid them {$12000.00} in interest on a XXXX finance. That's almost 100 % profit for them in 2 years, not to mention, the existing remaining 42 payments.I found this out when I went back to hopefully sell the car back to them last week. When I went in to discuss them buying back the car, they devalued the car from over {$15000.00} a year ago, to {$7500.00} this year, XX/XX/XXXX. I told them the XXXX value was either over valued last year when I bought the car, or the current XXXX value was way under value. The subject was changed and I left without selling the car back.

Consumer Complaint: Yes I had a car loan but 3 to 6 months into my car payments the transmission was going out, I call and explain this, so I couldn't afford to fix it and make payments when I just got it, long story short I turn the car back n and that was 6 years ago. Didn't know much about car loan or credit until now. They sold the car and still have the full balance on my credit report. I did not know until now that I am responsible for the outstanding balance if there is one. So from 6 years until now the account is still open and reporting as late payments. XXXX has I made 0 payments on time and XXXX has I made 65 % payments on time. We both know all parties have to have the same thing this is inaccurate information on my credit report with payments making my credit report go downhill further I need help with this please

Consumer Complaint: I received a notice from credit acceptance that if I paid {$4300.00} within 90 days of the letter dated XX/XX/XXXX they would close my account and if the account was still reporting to the credit bureaus it would be updated to XXXX balance and paid in full for less than full balance. I paid the account in full on XX/XX/XXXX. I then called on XX/XX/XXXX the rep stated the account was closed so I requesed a letter stating that it was paid in full and they would be updating my credit report. I was faxed that letter as well as mailed the same letter. I have had way too many issues with this company in the past so I disputed the info because I knew they would not update it accordingly and of course they responded to the dispute that everything was accurate on the account which is a lie.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased this vehicle in XXXX through XXXX XXXX XXXX. During the signing I was told that I was to put down {$1500.00} and a trade of my XXXX XXXX. I informed them that I did not want the gap coverage. I was not only charged for gap coverage they added extra items onto my account such as warranties and auto maintenance coverage. I was not told they were adding these fees under financing. When my wife looked over my forms she discovered all these erroneous fees. Approximately a few weeks after purchasing my vehicle, the dealership went out of business. I contacted Credit Acceptance to ask them to remove and reimburse me for the fees charged. I was told that they don't refinance and that they can't take off the excessive fees and maintenance that I was charged. I have now retired and am XXXX and I can't continue making these extra fees. I would like an investigation into this and I would appreciate any assistance you could provide. Thank you!
