Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing has a collection reporting to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX that isn't mine!! I have never lived at the address associated with the account in dispute! I had this removed over a year ago, due to identity theft. Now its back on and came back verified. They haven't provided proof that the debt is mine ( binding contract with me or cox ), nor a proper investigation to verifying said debt. Under the FCRA, any inaccurate information must be removed from my credit report. They are also, in violation of laws under 15 U.S.C. 1681 Section 602 A- which states that I have the right to privacy. 15 U.S.C 1681 Section 604 A section 2- states that a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written permission. FDCPA : 22 ( f ) Restrictions on use of certain media. Paragraph 22 ( f ) ( 2 ). 1. Language or symbol. Section 1006.22 ( f ) ( 2 ) provides, in relevant part, that a debt collector must not use any language or symbol, other than the debt collectors address, on any envelope when communicating with a consumer by mail. I have disputed with all 3 credit bureaus, XXXX XXXX XXXX and the Oklahoma Attorney General. I need this resolved as quickly as possible. Please make sure this company is in compliance with my rights as a consumer and takes off all false and negative information from all 3 credit bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by a credit agency stated that I had owed an account by XXXX and it was proceeding to a court date as I will be sued for non payment. I paid the full amount of {$1400.00} to the by my credit court thinking that I was in trouble with court obligations. I received all documents of the payment and statement provided by them but what I found odd was that my signature was not proper on the line. I then reported the possible scam to my credit card company but they didnt refund the amount. I received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX by another creditor called convergent saying I owed {$240.00}. I called them to let them know I already paid way over the amount due but they stated that they never received payment and that the company I paid wasnt their company. My bank refuses to refund the payment so iam filing a possible scam as pictures can be provided.

Consumer Complaint: My personal information was misappropriated by someone I didn't know, and many overdue bills were recorded on my credit report, resulting in a negative credit report for me. The creditor and collection agencies, instead of showing me the original data package when the bill was created, only showed me the debt bill in the person 's name. I sent a statement to the creditor 's rights company and the debt collection company to investigate, but it was not resolved. The creditor 's rights company continued to accept the business handled by the embezzler, and the overdue result was recorded in my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in saying I owe money that I do not. I signed up for service from XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I transferred my energy bill from an apartment on XX/XX/XXXX to a new address. The plan never should have changed, just transferred service but approximately 9 months into service at the new address, my bill was consistently increasing. I called multiple times to inquire why my bill was changing. In XX/XX/XXXX they told me the bill would be an average based on the usage of the home from the previous year. I explained to them that I had not lived at that address the prior year and that the property had been vacant for over a year so that information would be inaccurate. I was never late with a payment during the entire time I had my account for over 3 years. I made repeated attempts to contact XXXX to ask why my bill was so inconsistent. Every time I was told it was taken care of, that there was an error with the billing. I moved out/vacated the new address on XX/XX/XXXX & canceled service. The last billing cycle I am responsible for is XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX which I paid the amount due of {$250.00}. I was sent a bill showing I owed {$740.00} for " Balance Due for Billing Plan ''. I called and was told it was for Deferred billing. I have no idea what Deferred Balance is or what it means and I never signed up for that. I repeatedly called to ask about it, to dispute it, to tell them that was not correct. The error in billing is on XXXX end. I do not have phone records of my attempts to resolve this, only 2 conversations via chat helpdesk showing my attempts to get this resolved. I was unemployed for most of the pandemic in XXXX but always paid my bills in full and on time.
