Consumer Complaint: I received a collections notice via USPS stating that this account was in collections. I called XXXX who proceeded to agree with me that this was a fraudulent account but was told there was nothing they could do as it was already in collections. I have tried to contact the collection agency to dispute this, but this has not been successful. This account is for {$4100.00} and is really affecting my credit report as I apply to become a first-time home buyer. Another fraudulent account was also opened in my name with XXXX and I was able to have that issue resolved.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2022, I identified the collection on my credit report, and call the number listed to settle the debt, I was told by the agent that they would accept a " Pay for Delete '' for the settlement amount. I followed up with a payment on XX/XX/2022 via phone with a debt card. However, since then I have been told by Convergent Outsourcing that they do not offer " Pay for Delete '' per the original creditor, XXXX. I have called back in XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/2022 to dispute with no success, Convergent says their recordings don't go back that far. I have since filed a complaint with my attorney general, XXXX XXXX in the state of Texas and sent via certified mail with a return receipt advising Convergent Outsourcing & XXXX that they are violating my rights under the Fair Credit & Reporting Act ( FCRA ), by engaging in deceptive practices.
