Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I have a pdf file containing all correspondence. The pages below refer to that document. 1- XX/XX/XXXX. Received a document from Convergent ( pages XXXX and XXXX ) saying I owed XXXX XXXX {$100.00} 2XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. Replied to Convergent, emphasizing that I have not done any business with XXXX Bank, and asked about details ( page XXXX ). I also inquired by phone to the XXXX Bank about the account given. There was no such account in the bank. 3- Convergent replied on XX/XX/XXXX ( page XXXX ). They sent some documents ( pages XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ). The address of the account was given as XXXX, XXXX We never lived in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX showed the address as a wooded area, no building ( pages XXXX and XXXX ). 4- XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter to Convergent ( page XXXX ), emphasizing the wrong address, and gave some examples of XXXX XXXX that I found in XXXX . I specifically asked how they contacted me, from all the names and locations, this question was not answered. 5- Convergent replied on XX/XX/XXXX ( page XXXX ), suggested that I go the XXXX XXXX Web site, and complete an affidavit. I went to the suggested Web site to find an affidavit, but could not find it ( page XXXX ). 6- I sent a letter to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ( page XXXX ). I emphasized that I never lived in Georgia, I did not have any business with the XXXX Bank, and asked for a remedy. 7- XXXX XXXX replied on XX/XX/XXXX ( page XXXX ) and they suggested an affidavit for ID theft. This is not ID theft, since the address is not correct, and therefore this is not me. They suggested obtaining the affidavit form from their Web site ( see XXXX above ). 8- I assumed that the matter was closed. Then on XX/XX/XXXX I received another document from Convergent ( XXXX XXXX and XXXX ), very similar to the first XXXX. They said that I should dispute it by XX/XX/XXXX. 9- I replied to Convergent with a letter on XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX ), and with a filled slip ( pages XXXX and XXXX ), saying I will not pay. 10- As if I did not send the letter and the slip, saying I will not pay, Convergent sent me another document on XX/XX/XXXX ( pages XXXX and XXXX ), saying " pay half ''.

Consumer Complaint: A company called Convergent Outsourcing popped up and appeared on my XXXX credit profile and posted a debt XX/XX/XXXX. They never previously sent me any mail as an attempt to collect a debt. I never had any contract with them. They state on my XXXX report that XXXX is the Original Creditor which automatically makes Convergent Outsourcing a 3rd party Debt Collector. I owe no debit to them. There is no contract. I sent them and Affidavit OF Truth on XXXX XXXX XXXX and got it notorized at a local XXXX XXXX Bank by a Banker. Convergent sent me a copy of a bill statement, no contract and or rebuttal to my Affidavit. I am providing the Affidavit in the attachment i sent to Convergent, before XXXX XXXX notorized it because i forgot to make a copy after i got it done. My Affidavit stands as truth in a court of law. This is an illegal practice. This company violated my right to privacy according to the Privacy Act Of 1974. This company is hurting my ability to get loans, a car and credit cards at fair low interest rates which is oppressing to me and highly stressful. Them remaining on my Consumer Report is constant harassment. 15 U.S. Code 1692d - Harassment or abuse : A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt

Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern, Please be advised that I have received your computer-generated letter stating that you have ceased investigation of my credit reports because, in your opinion, you believe that I have used a third-party credit repair agency. Not only do I believe this to be a stall tactic on your part to grant you an additional 30 days to comply with my original request, but I believe it to be a blatant violation of the FCRA. You were advised by me on XX/XX/2022 by certified mail that I questioned the accuracy of a few items on my credit reports. That request was written by me and mailed by me- not a third-party agency. It appears obvious to me that you are abusing your power under the FCRA to escape a complete investigation. Here again, is the incorrect information being reported : Convergent / Acc. # : XXXX / Bal. {$720.00} Additionally, there is NO law that states a consumer can not use a third party, so using that as your excuse is irrelevant. In fact, the United States Congress has found the whole process so overwhelming that they afford consumers the right to use a third party on their behalf if the consumer so chooses. This is why your statement is so shameful. I reserve the right to sue a credit bureau for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and I believe I can prove that you did not use reasonable measures to ensure the accuracy of my credit reports and now you are stalling the process even further. I realize disputes can be expensive and it is your job to stall them, but you do so at great risk. Please take notice that this letter dated XX/XX/2022 is a formal notice to you that I am requesting that you continue forward with my original investigation request and please send the results to me within 15 days. I therefore legally and lawfully refuse your " form letter '' thus giving you only 15 days, not 30 more. I am annoyed and outraged at your accusation and I have researched my rights in regards to my credit file. Please expedite my original request immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I am having trouble believing that an investigation was done regarding an account I disputed with the credit bureaus. XXXX put a personal statement on my credit report acknowledging that the account was disputed, but I have yet to receive anything validating this account. The account that I am requesting to be deleted is CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING. I've never had an account with this company. The original creditor is XXXX and I have discussed payment plans. The balance I have with XXXX is not even the correct balance that is showing on my credit report. I am demanding the removal of this account until further investigation is done. Please provide the original contract where it includes CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING as the company to remit payment to. Also inform me of the amount of which the debt was purchased. If you can not provide this information please remove this permanently from my credit report.
